New new review time... see end edit.. New review time. Visited today for a drink and roasts for me and the Mrs. Very friendly staff and the roasts were delicious! I had the Pork belly and the good lady had chicken. Roast pots, roasted carrots and parsnips were spot on and the gravy proppa tasty! Yum, yum, looking to return very soon 😋 Also, we love the pub, the good ole traditional decor, excellent range of drinks, just feels right! I wish I lived nearer.... Thanks guys and girls... Edit... Visited the 16/11 for a drink with the Mrs. A pint of Session ale for me and half an Amstel shandy for her was £10.55!!! Suffice to say, we didn't have anymore drinks there! Went on to the Plough St Benedicts and the same sort of drinks and a packet of nuts was £8.65..... 😲 wow

Sunday evening, popped in and the atmosphere was great. A lovely clean cosy traditional pub. Although we hadn’t booked they quickly squeezed us in. We opted for a beef roast. It came with roast potatoes, seasonal veg and Yorkshire puddings. We also added pork stuffing. It was incredible- best roast I’ve had in a while. Great service, friendly atmosphere- fabulous food!

During our recent stay in Norwich we visited The Coach and Horses a couple of times for both food and drinks. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, the beer was a good quality, especially the Cask ale “Coach”, this went down very easily:) The food was excellent, served as small Tapas style portions and well priced, so with a couple of selections each, was plenty to share around the table. Would definitely recommend.

I made a last minute booking here for a pre theatre meal and I didn't know what to expect but what a find! When booking I was asked about any food allergies or intolerances of which I have a couple. We were warmly greeted on arrival. Much to my surprise and the first time ever I was given a separate menu where someone had taken the trouble to cross out the meals/ items I would not be able to have. What a help it was not having to trawl through a menu checking myself. Even though there were tapas I couldn't have there was still plenty of choice. We ordered a selection and the server who took our order knowledgeably answered our questions on portion sizes. When our food arrived everything was well presented and all tasted delicious. We were extremely impressed with everything including the polite and friendly staff. If we hadn't had a theatre show to attend we would have stayed longer.

My wife and sons, aged 18 and 16, had dinner (the tapas) and drinks. Our adult son had a beer with us and after my wife bought him a second beer the mangeress (who, in stark contrast to the woman serving at the bar who was kind and personable) stormed over to us, aggressively interrupted our family conversation and treated us as if we were criminals. She grabbed our son’s drink and told us either we drink it or she would take it. We did not understand what she was talking about at first then it became apparent that she was acting out some internal narrative of her own as the assertive bar manager dealing with difficult customers. Either through colossal inexperience or arrogant entitlement she spoke to us in a completely inappropriate and non-customer focused way. My son, who turned 18 five months ago was mortified and my wife was so upset she just left. This woman urgently needs training on how to treat people with respect. It is clear to us now that she was concerned that her bar staff had not checked my son’s ID but the way she reacted to this was appalling and extremely rude. I have never experienced such bad customer service. Avoid this establishment at all costs!

This pub was almost next door to our holiday flat so we went a few times during our stay. What a lovely place, incredibly friendly staff, spacious and comfortable. Lovely to see an old bar billiards still in use as entertainment. There is a large beer garden out the back which was a perfect haven during the heatwave. The menu was interesting and the quality of the food was great. The best thing, after aging to walk out of many places because of too loud and terrible music, this pub was nice and peaceful and we could hear ourselves talk. Wonderful bar

Disappointed after visiting on my birthday for Sunday lunch. Reviews looked great, when booking I was advised that we may have to wait for food orders due to how busy they get to which I was happy with. Arrived to an empty restaurant so our food arrived quickly, I had a roast dinner and was so disappointed, it really was basic, and looked, felt and tasted microwaved so therefore I didn't really eat it. However my partner had some tapas pieces which he really enjoyed. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The place itself is lovely, especially inside. However, the outside is less impressive, with a very narrow passage leading to the tables at the back, causing people to rub against each other constantly. Reportedly, the food is good, though we can’t confirm this ourselves. When we went to order, we were told they weren’t taking any orders from people without reservations due to high demand and limited food supply. And this was on a Friday evening! This is what I call bad planning. We had to rely on our scarce supplies ;) Anyway, we’re going to give it another chance soon.

Met a friend here for lunch. The atmosphere seemed cheerful and the furniture and decor was dark, woody and cosy. We were shown to our table and the young waiter was very polite, friendly but professional, and attentive to our needs. We ordered four types of tapas: white bait, duck spring rolls, a walnut and goats cheese salad and cod goujons. Apart from the white bait being too strong for my taste the food was lovely. I had a lovely thirst-quenching ginger beer and my friend had tap water. We both chose the apple and berry crumble and custard for dessert, which was absolutely delicious!!!! The pricing was very reasonable and we really enjoyed ourselves while we were there and were surrounded by people also having a good time! We'll be back!!

I love this pub and have been coming here for years. Four of us visited again for food a few weeks ago as its a great place to stop before/after going to the theatre. The tapas are really tasty with a selection of food to suit everyone and are good value. Unfortunately the reason this visit only gets 3 stars is as follows: The bar service was really slow, all diners were put in the back side of the pub which was dark and cold, yet the side by the windows which was warmer and brighter (and also makes the place look more attractive seeing people eating in the window), was empty. Lastly my mum got some chewing gum stuck on the arm of her coat when she had folded it over her chair. Yes this might have only been put there, but when we left and told the bar lady, she didn't look interested or concerned at all and didn't offer any help to my mum to try and get it off or indicate that action would be taken to remove it on the chair. Just put a downer on the whole experience really as my mum couldn't wear the coat and had to get it dry cleaned. I will be back and will update my review again, but on this occasion we were disappointed.

There were only the 2 of us! I felt like getting my mobile out and ringing them there and then to book a table for then, but a quick Google search took us to the nearby Lanb Inn, where the staff were much more amenable and found us a table. Rainy Tuesday afternoon, I really fancied a nice pint of Guinness, I have never been here before but it looked nice from the outside. The pub was fairly empty as I was early but the fire was blazing and the staff were really friendly. As the pub got busier the food started to come out and my god the smell was immense and it looked to die for. To top it off, I noticed it was Dog Friendly and has Bar Billiards. My husband and I called here for a drink Saturday evening on the way to eat out somewhere nearby, with another couple. The football crowd had left, pleasant surroundings with just the right amount of people to make a good atmosphere. What was bizarre was that the staff insisted on serving our drinks in plastic glasses. We questioned this, and said that all other tables we could see had proper glasses, but were told they’d booked tables to eat and were allowed proper glasses. Crazy, as we sat on a table in the middle of other tables, all with proper glasses!

Unfortunately I can’t even say the food was average,me and my partner had the chicken fillet with cheese but asked for bbq source instead of the original sauce, the chicken came out with no cheese on it and a thing horrible bbq sauce with mushrooms in it , the fillets chicken was plain, looked like it was fried not even chargrilled very plain, I asked for straight fry’s and got curly ones, starters were onion rings with potatoe wedges and cheese at last on them , they were average, my son had some sort of chicken which was plain too and didn’t have any taste to it, daughter had mac and cheese, if the food was like the menu looked then maybe it would have tasted great - won’t be coming back sorry
