The plywood boards are very annoying as they totally get in the way of watching your teammates bowl

I photographed a wedding at the bowling house back in February. All the staff were super friendly and helped with the smooth running of the day. The food was delicious and plentiful. Really cool quirky venue, would definitely recommend as somewhere outside the box for an event!

I booked bowling for my family while visiting my parents, we aren’t from this area so didn’t know what to expect. I was massively delighted with everything from start to finish. The staff were polite, friendly and welcoming, the food was exceptionally good and the atmosphere and authenticity of the place was brilliant. Highly recommend!!! Thank you!!

Had a great time, vibe really good. Staff friendly, leave you to it but are there if you need them. I think we booked a table for food but ended up leaving early but nothing was said so apologies for that! Anyway fully recommend to anyone who wants a chilled out place to hang back and do some bowling

Hit up 'The Bowling House' in Norwich for a mate's birthday bash, and what a blast we had! Picture this: 15 of us descending like a hungry pack of wolves, ready to bowl, eat, and sip on some drinks. Booking 3 lanes in advance was a smooth move – gave us our own little corner to get competitive and cheer each other on. The staff were legends, keeping our glasses filled and taking our mountain of food orders without breaking a sweat. Speaking of food, when they say 'nachos,' they really mean it. Enough to feed two easily, or one very hungry bowler. After we were done throwing balls down lanes, they had our feast ready to go. The food wasn't just plentiful; it was delicious, too. The Bowling House? More like the 'Bowing Down to Great Service and Food House.' Great vibes, awesome for parties, and you bet, I'm already planning the next visit!

Been here thrice now and had an excellent time during both of them. I get the feeling they've stepped up their food game in my most recent visit!

Great time had here this Saturday. We booked an hour bowling and had tasty lunch and great drinks. Loads better than the usual national.bowling sites. This is real, authentic bowling in a building with history and charm. Staff were super friendly and helpful. We will be back.

Love this place. Best nachos in Norwich, food is great value varied and really good quality. If you're looking for fast food/ street food style, this is a great example. Plus, you can bowl or even have a go at the boutique karaoke. I like that they have a few zero alchohol options rather than standard becks blue. Decent board games was a jce touch and its kid freindly a great buisness. Great for meeting friends or a family night out. Rather eat here than a lot of chain places in Norwich.

A bowling and brunch get together with colleagues- a fantastic time had by all. Lovely relaxed atmosphere, amazing attentive service, wonderful food cooked from scratch and the best cocktails ever - definitely recommend.

Quite a small and intimate venue but really just good fun and kind service folks.

Unfortunately I will have to admit I pre judged the building from outside and wasn't expecting great things. But wow wasn't I surprised, my wife two boys (5) & (8) and I went in half term for a game of bowling. The staff were so friendly to my boys, engaging in conversation about his Pokémon. Another member of their staff got my youngest to help with the bowling bumpers. They really enjoyed it and so did we. The place was lively and the food looked great. This is by far the most fun bowling alley in Norwich and I would happily return anytime. My lesson definitely was not to pre judge a book by its cover.

Arrived just before 3pm and they were great ! Booked to start for quarter past and they were very friendly and helpful. We were very hungry and were able to push back our time. Food was fast and amazing! The burgers are fresh and huge. Staff were friendly, helpful and seem like a great team. The drinks were great and fast x

Came back with some friends after a visit two years ago, and loved it again! Turned up a tad early and had some food despite the kitchen closing at 3pm, the staff were more than accommodating and lovely and let us order and even pushed our lane back a little bit to give us time to eat. The cocktails were great and the bowling was a lot of fun!

Super evening, Bowl, Eat and Karaoke!

I ordered a vegan mushroom burger for collection as normally just eat struggle to assign a driver to deliver to NR6. I collected but when I got home and sat down to eat it had a meat patty inside with Stilton sauce, pickles and bohoo sauce with the mushroom. Pretty disappointing being a vegan and have meat and cheese in your burger. Called the restaurant and was offered a replacement but I had to drive to collect it by this time my son was in bed so this wasn’t an option. Now awaiting a refund

We’ve been to two Friday night comedy sessions from Hooma Comedy Club at Bowling House now and they’ve been being amazing, especially since tickets are only £3 in advance. We were particularly impressed by the cocktail selection and the mixology skills of the staff at the bar. After the comedy wrapped up at 22:00 we played a round of retro bowling which was a fun way to continue the evening. We were surprised that the lanes were open till 12.

Natchos "Royale" and pigs in blankets, what's not to love! Absolutely delicious home made corn chips piled high with cream cheese, guac, & salsa. Oh and more cheese. Great range of beers and IPAs. Great place to hang out for a few hours.

Booked the upstairs room for a birthday party. The booking communication was very good. Quick responses and lots of information. The room was not big enough for 45 people, let alone the 60 they say it can accommodate. You’d be packed in like sardines if you had 60 people. Told staff in advance I couldn’t organise pre orders for 45 people and asked if there will be enough food, they said they can’t guarantee all items will be available but will ensure they is plenty of food. After half the guests had eaten, they shut the kitchen saying they had no food left. After a few discussions, including one staff member saying ‘I haven’t eaten anything today either’ we were quite shocked by the attitude. Then a few plates of nachos were made for us. We moved passed this and enjoyed the rest of the evening until 23:00 when they, without telling us, closed the bar. There were around 30 of us left upstairs partying and we would have all had a last drink if they’d have at least checked in with us. The barman said ‘he didn’t realise we were still here’… walk up the stairs and have a look! It felt a little bit like they couldn’t be bothered to work and did the bare minimum. We still enjoyed the evening, but it could have been much less stressful.

Amazing experience, great venue, great food, and super kind staff. Very highly recommended.

A great night out. We bowled, ate and sang karaoke, with a good time had by all. Great staff, lots of fun and a wonderful atmosphere. We highly regimens the fries.

Visited Bowling House with friends recently for a spot of bowling and karaoke, have to say that the bowling is great fun, and that the lanes are very relaxed and not super fast paced like at some bowling alleys. The Karaoke was great fun, and definitely made our night, the only reason I've left a four star review instead of a five star is because of the lack of air conditioning in the karaoke booth, we had a 90 minute session and by the end of it we were all dripping with sweat because of the humidity and desperately needed water, which being fair the bar lady gave us with no issues. Once the air conditioning is fixed we'll gladly go for karaoke here again!

I came for lunch and a bowl on Christmas Eve with my five year old son, father in law and partner. We all had a great time and throughly enjoyed our lunch. Can’t wait to return.

Second time we have had our Christmas Party at The Bowling House and we enjoyed it just as much as the first time. Excellent food, staff and atmosphere. We would highly recommend The Bowling House!

Food is incredible, very good choice and tastes amazing. Good choice of drinks from the bars. Staff are always very nice too. Bowling part is great fun, love the lanes and music. Could do with maybe more ball choice as couldn’t fit fingers inside most of the balls on our lane. Well done Bowling House.

Went here for karaoke and we loved it. Great song catalog and good speaker system within the room. Staff was friendly and helpful and showed us how to set up the playlist. Had no issues while we were in there but was told if we needed help they were there if we needed them. Bought drinks and snacks and they were good value.

The staff are always so lovely and so accommodating. We go every now and then for Karaoke which is great fun. A great selection of songs!

I had my 40th birthday party there and I can't thank the staff enough. They were all so helpful even in the insane heat we had that day! Also the bar manager was so kind and helpful helping me pick cocktails out for my party and making a special Hello Kitty cocktail for me. I can't rate this place enough. Great venue, amazing staff and delicious food and drink! Thank you for making my 40th so special, and I'm glad you liked the cat ears 😹

The food was alright, though the mac and cheese was disgusting, and the ribs were very lacking in meat. The delivery was a shambles though, almost 2 hours late.

First time at this place and really surprised at the quality of food and drink for bowling! Great beers and excellent real ale choice. Best vegan burger I’ve had in Norwich. All the staff really friendly and helpful and we loved the bowling. Shorter lanes than bowled before but really works well. Thanks for a great afternoon, I’ll definitely be back. M

Bowling and karaoke for a staff night out! So much fun! We also had dinner here beforehand which was delicious. Staff couldn’t have been more accommodating. The only thing we wished is that the coat stands in between each lane were moveable. I understand the need for separation when it’s different parties but for one big party it would have been nice if it could have been a little more open. We love it here and will be returning. Thanks BH staff.

I should say the food here is not too bad considering there is only one person in the Kitchen! I think he did great!!! It was fun to be with everyone for bowling too!

Seriously great food and at a competitive price. Portion sizes are above average and the food quality is above restaurant-standard. If you’re on the fence about this place then I’m telling you to order from them, you won’t be disappointed. Food was perfect temperature and not soggy at all. High recommend. 6/6

Visited on a Saturday afternoon with two under fives for bowling and lunch, had a lovely time, staff were friendly and helpful, food was great and will definitely be back.

The food was great, worthy of the money considering the discount. However it was really late, ordered the food at 6:30pm and arrived nearly 8pm already. They had the initiative to give provide free drinks even without me asking and there was a note of apology which I found really nice acknowledging what was wrong. I’d still order from them hopefully won’t be late again.

The burger was really good, the fries were a bit soggy but still good. But the deep fried jalapeños were amazing! Highly recommend.

Was expecting the food to be somewhat of a decent quality, however, the fired jalapeños were cold as was the burger, with the patties being far too over cooked. The only positive was the Korean fried chicken which was nice

Delicious! Have had the same whilst dining in and had a hankering for it so had it delivered and did not disappoint! Arrived on time, piping hot and just as tasty! Not soggy (but maybe not as crispy although you’d hardly notice) and just as delicious!

Just ordered some food through Just Eat and the chicken burger was not as I expected/recalled. Looked on the website and it turns out it is a different chicken burger to what you serve at the BH. That is very odd and a bit disappointing. Why different menus? And, when I called them up and said about a plain burger for a child, they said they don't do child burgers. But your menu on your website has a child's menu and includes a burger. Why did not tell us that?

Food ok, delivery was late but I got a heads-up that it would be.

Our experience here was really mixed. When we arrived we were told where to find out table and given menus. There’s a QR code on the table to order but it didn’t work and no member of staff came over to take our order/check in. Eventually after quite a while waiting, I got up to ask a member of staff. The food was good and filling, luckily we didn’t have to wait for too long for our food to arrive. We’d also booked into bowling after our meal (which is free when you order a main meal over the weekend) but unfortunately it hadn’t been put through the system which meant we had to wait for a while for a lane to become available. The staff were friendly though. The Bowling House is a great idea, especially when there’s a group of you/a couple and you want a good night out/looking for something fun to do. There were just a few things that needed tweaking to improve our experience.

Amazing, nachos were toppings were separate so I could construct my take away when I got home ensuring the tortillas are not soggy. 10/10

The most amazing service, food and atmosphere. Every time I’ve been here I’ve been overwhelmed by the service and friendliness of employees. The food is phenomenal and the ambience is exceptional. Highly recommend - not just a bowling house, but an excellent restaurant and bar.

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely evening at The Bowling House tonight. Really tasty cocktails and delicious food. The chicken and ribs being particularly good. Friendly staff and me great prices. The outside space has heaters so very cosy too. A big thumbs up from us

Chicken burger over cooked and dry. Beef burger over cooked. Mac n cheese bland. Chips were good though.

Good portions and taste. However, I order the beef nachos, and I have received the beans version. Disappointed :(

This was one of the most mouth-wateringly delicious meals I've ever eaten. I could easily order this again right now, demolish it and cover my face in the sauce, and spend an hour or two wandering the streets in my dressing gown in a sexy haze. I know.

Really glad we chose the Bowling House for our first night out after lockdown coz the food was amazing and the garden was so pretty. The overhead heaters kept up warm and cosy all evening. The staff were warm and friendly but with excellent Covid standards, it felt very safe. Had the ..buy one get one free...cocktails inc Pornstar Martini’s.... oh wow. The food was perfect, all seemed homemade and beautifully presented. Our party had Ribs, Koran chicken, best burger ever and a salmon salad all really tasty.
