Congratulations is in order here, to be in CAMRA Good Beer Guide is a badge of honour, This is one pub that deserves it as the beers are always Tip Top Condition. As a fairly regular customer here ive seen the growth of Ale drinkers coming into the pub, and always great comments on the condition of the Ale, also always a fantastic selection to be sampled. Bottoms Up Steve and Staff, well deserved Coach And Horses.

Great pub in Rotherwick. Went here after a walk around footpaths. Good choice of well kept real ales which is not always easy to find. Excellent choice of food. Lovely Nachos. Delicious pulled pork brioche bap. Chips were some of the best I've ever had. Very hot and slightly crunchy. Sat in beer garden put the back to have final drinks and coffee.

The Perfect Pub and Pint!!! We moved to Hook a couple of year ago and had really struggled to find a place we could go with our kids that allowed us to relax and enjoy great food and drink - until we found The Coash and Horses in Rotherwick, it does it all and more. Steve, Sam and the team are amazing - nothing is too much, the food is always fantastic with plenty on menus. The garden is stunning, but the jewel in crown is the selection of beers and how Steve keeps them. We’d been made to feel so welcome and looked after during our visit, that I choose to hold my fiancés surprise 40th party here. From the very mention of the party, Steve and Sam helped me with every detail. We had family and friends from all over the UK and abroad, they were blown away by the pubs setting, the team attention to the guest and the always amazing pizzas and beer If you’re looking for somewhere for a quick pint, a nice meal with friends and family or a venue for a celebration – choose the coach and horses – you won’t be disappointed. The roasts are incredible and the walk through the fields from Hook are prefect to work up a thirst and hunger.

What a Great Boozer, Great Landlord, Great Staff, whom not only talk to you, they know about the beer, and the Ales are changing constantly, as REAL beer drinkers (NOT namby pamby lager fizzy bubbly coloured lemonade gassy drinkers) this place is the only establishment around that is Celebrating D Day, and Steve the landlord has took time out to decorate his lovely pub with D Day buntings and commerative ales, they were all superb and although i dont need to mention it, tip top condition, why cant all the other pubs in the area care and just push the boat out, and just go that extra mile like these guys do. Pubs are for Beer, thats the whole idea. Keep it up Steve, Sam, Nadia etc.

We love this gem of a pub great location, nice staff and great atmosphere BUT a new chef is needed asap possibly the worst Sunday Roast I’ve ever had, tasteless roast pork, the roast potatoes where not in fact roasted seemed to be boiled then deep fried, few cabbage leaves and carrots, we had a pie which I’m told was nice served with awful mash, vegetarian option I'm told was also poor. We really should've sent the lot back but didn’t like to cause a scene . Nice puddings but all in all £185 wasted. I hate leaving bad reviews but feel this needs to be done . Please change your chef before losing Anymore diners.

Picked up my old parents and drove 30 mins to dine here. We won't come back, the food was disappointing. The cauliflower and caramelised onion pie sounds great but was microwaved so the short-crust pasty had no crunch. Same for the roast potatoes. The veg was cooked well but was luke warm and had no sauce, spice, seasoning. Honestly, its been a while and it was nice to be reminded of school dinners, it takes me back but not at £80 for 4 mains. New chefs please.

When they did turn up , it was like I was doing them a favour asking for a drink. Bartender ( woman) on 13 / June /2023 was not professional. I checked in at 17:36 hrs ,ordered a pint & asked if kitchen is open? Was advised will open only at 18:00 hrs .At 18:00 hrs went to the bar &ordered a pizza - was promptly informed No Pizzas today ! Asked why was I not informed earlier & curtly responded by female bartender just informed 2 seconds ago . Facts chef/ cook was at the bar a few minutes before 18:00 . Summary bartender was rude when I asked her why did she not inform me earlier about no pizzas or informed about what is available for dinner today !! Lack of due diligence ,unprofessional & was asked to leave solely because she lives there !! No wonder why pubs are closing across UK. My previous experience at C & H have been pleasant. Owner of C& H needs to review the behaviour of bartender(woman ) . Good luck. To owner - Surprised by your response regarding allegations of shouting & abuse words even before discussing with me !! Shame on you . Much better pubs left than visiting an unprofessional establishment like C & H . Not wasting my time anymore !

I booked for Sunday Roast for a table for four of us guys. Came an hour early as we all know the beer is top notch and could not resist a few ales before our lunch. Steve gave us a usual warm welcome upon arrival at 12.00 opening time, the hardest task of the day was to pick a beer out of six selected superb Ales that was available (Its a breath of fresh air here to not be greeted with Doombar, thank god). all ales were agreeably as always spot on. We were so carried away with our ales, we forgot we were here also to dine. we all settled for the Roast beef..... WOW...... really beautifully cooked and presented, a proper roast dinner. Our barmaid/waitress/server Nardia was very pleasant (as always) and very attentive, kept a check on us at times to see if all was ok... A nice touch was noticed that she didnt leave it for a long time to clear our plates from our table and a short interval was paused before she returned with a smile to take our order for puddings, all which were again the same., Sticky Toffee Pudding with Ice Cream. really nice portions and very tasty. hioghly recommend this lovely country pub for a visit for a drink or a night out in the beautiful back garden over looking the countryside fields. The menu was different on the night from that stated on the website. The choices were not great & overpriced in my opinion, not value for money. Despite the early hour of our booking they had run out of gammon for the gammon egg & chips, a most popular choice, so you would have thought they'd have plenty of gammon available. They managed to burn the chips! For dessert my friend requested Tarte au Citron, which was on the menu but ended up with Lemon Meringue Pie! Also I requested the Triple Chocolate Brownie and icecream, it was as flat as a pancake & came with 1 small scoop of icecream for £7.25 - a rip off I was so disappointed I didn't eat it. There wasn't even a sprinkle of icing sugar over our puddings to jush them up a bit. Very disappointed overall, will not be going back & wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone.

A nice selection of Flower Pots Brewery were on tap Busters Best, Pots Bitter, Extra Special Bitter and another awaiting and settling, Hogs Back TEA, Hop Back Crop Circle and GFB. So a nice selection of local and localish beers. The Flower Pots that we were sampling were in absolutely tip top condition, crisp, clear and full of flavour. We were served excellent sandwiches with good fresh bread and quality fillings. Beer was also very good - obviously well kept. Garden is much better than it used to be and comfortable to sit in. The one downside was the RULES! We couldn't order a beer and a sandwich without first walking right through to the garden, selecting an empty table and then walking back to place the order - and this when the place was empty. We thought making a client feel welcome would have been better than insisting on applying RULES.

Good beers, and whilst no non alcoholic gins were available, a low alcohol gin was offered without needing to be asked. Food arrived promptly, and at reasonable intervals, and - because my eyes were bigger than my stomach - the excess chips and onion rings were nicely wrapped into a foil 'doggy bag' rather than wasted. Ate here because it was one of few options on a Monday lunchtime. Not disappointed though and will return. Friendly service. Excellent simple Italian cooking. Good value for money. Only downside is the room is a bit echo-y - don't sit near coffee machine if you want to hear the conversation on your table.

I have visited on a Friday evening with a friend. The food was great, service fast an efficient. Only downside to our dinner was the fact we have been sat in a small room with lights everywhere (spot lights, chandelier and wall lights) which was an atmosphere killer. We have enquired about dimming or turning some off, which was not possible (all on one circuit), we were not offered to be relocated into an area of the pub with less lights and more atmosphere.

second time visiting this popular little cafe. Both my friend and myself had sausage sandwiches and a coffee. Unfortunately the skin on the sausages is so tough you neither of us could eat it, we had to dissect it and remove the skin. I also spotted another gentleman having the same issue on another table. As a rule the waitress will ask you if everything was ok, I was going to mention the sausages, however she just cleared the table without asking and so it never got mentioned until this review. Coffee was nice but just wouldn’t recommend a the sausages

The team at the Spice Merchant go above and beyond to offer great food, excellent service and a friendly inviting atmosphere Book early for a table if you wish to eat in but don't miss out and go for a take away as it's just as good. You can sneak a cheeky wee drink in while waiting for your order
