The Cloudberry in Tunbridge Wells

We chanced upon this restaurant during a brief stay in Cranbrook and found an absolute delight! The relaxed atmosphere with wonderful hosting from Beverley immediately put us in the mood for the superbly balanced menu. Highlights were the pumpkin soup with coriander oil, small rabbit stew starter, pork belly main course and delicious panna cotta for pudding. We would recommend it wholeheartedly!

Exceptional food in a cosy, relaxed atmosphere with an engaging host who was friendly. The perfect spot for a special occasion - my Wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our evening at The Cloudberry and will tell anyone who will listen about this gem of a restaurant. Do yourselves a favour and get booked in now for a foodie experience.

Four of us had a lovely 3 course dinner on a Saturday evening. Very reasonable value for food and drinks. An intimate venue with a friendly family vibe. Would certainly recommend a visit.

Back to The Cloudberry after some months. Super dinner. Loved the wild garlic soup amuse bouche, the pork tenderloin in cider sauce was really delicious and the rhubarb with milk ice cream was lovely. A very good claret complemented our dinner. This is a charming, intimate restaurant with lovely service and very good competitively-priced food. It’s well worth a visit and we will return for sure.

We are so lucky to have a restaurant of this quality in Cranbrook. We just had a fabulous dinner - a four course seasonal menu - for an extremely reasonable £45 a head. We also had wine and aperitifs. The food is wonderful, the room atmospheric and it made for a really memorable evening. Highly recommended.

We are thrilled Cloudberry has reopened after a 6 month hiatus …. It’s still excellent ….. An Amuse Bouche of wild garlic soup followed by cauliflower bhajis with dhal for me, pigeon with chicken liver pate on toast for him. Then Pork tenderloin with bacony cabbage and fondant potato for me, tempura cod with curry leek and potato for him (the best tempura he has had apparently!) Then cheese for him and madeleine with rhubarb and home made ice cream. If that hasn’t sold it to you then I don’t know what will! So book a table now …. It is a most welcome different offering to the local food scene …. This is a chef that understands food and clearly loves what he does. We will be back soon!!

I chose the Cloudberry to celebrate my wife's 80th Birthday and was not disappointed by my choice. Our meal was a joy of taste from the "Amuse Bouche" to our Dessert. A great chef who combines fresh ingredients for your culinary pleasure. Nothing ostentatious just friendly efficient service with taste.

Great use of flavours in the cooking and all courses were good. I would highlight Squid and Chorizo starter - beautiful tender squid had absorbed flavour from Chorizo. Dessert was an outstanding PannaCotta with lemon granita and red fruit which my wife described as the perfect dessert. Quiet on the night we were there this restaurant deserves to succeed. It is run by a delightful family and I wish them very well.

Had a cracking dinner in this delightful restaurant. A great value menu - 4 courses for £40. Nothing too 'cheffy' just great ingredients treated with respect and skill. The gazpacho with aubergine puree had a lovely 'tang' and great texture. The crab and tomato tartar was perfectly offset by the pickled apple and fennel and the belly pork was just delicious with great crackling. The service was great - friendly, relaxed but professional. This venture deserves to go from strength to strength and I hope to get the chance to visit again soon.

Super place- relaxed, friendly, great value for money and, most importantly, lovely food. We began with a highly flavoursome gazpacho amuse bouche which was fresh, sharp, yet delicate on the palate. Our crab starter was beautifully seasoned, very nicely balanced and again the word “fresh” must be used. My companion pronounced her pork belly main as “excellent” and I just loved my spring risotto which was bursting with “fresh”, delicate flavours . We finished with a selection of local English cheeses - including a sharp Kentish blue and a very delicate Sussex Brie- lovely. The wine list is very well-priced and we enjoyed a very acceptable bottle of Italian red. The Cloudberry is very charming with lovely owners and staff and I highly recommend it.

Food here is delicious. Such fresh ingredients, the garden peas and strawberries had such intense flavour, The cheese platter for dessert was also excellent. Definitely prepared by someone who is passionate about good food and high quality ingredients as well as very thoughtful in putting them together. The local sparkling wine on the menu also has very high rating. A rare find!
