Very cosy and dimly lit cocktail bar in the heart of Margate. Friendly staff and great menu. When I visited they had a special offer - all cocktails for £7 something. Highly recommend the jamaretto! The staff once created a cocktail especially for me too because I couldn’t decide what to have - a great chocolate one!

If you’re looking for a place that knows how to shake up an amazing cocktail look no further! The staff are incredibly friendly and not to mention helpful. I was being very difficult not knowing what to order and they went above and beyond to make me the perfect cocktail. Will definitely be returning when I’m back in town!

A Tale of Two Staff Members: Disappointing Visit to The Clockwork Cocktail Company I've visited The Clockwork Cocktail Company a handful of times since they first opened, and back then, the vibe was good. Cocktails were tasty, reasonably priced, and the place had potential. So, after a lovely meal at Buoy and Oyster, my friend and I thought we'd spontaneously support the space again. They had a happy hour deal, and it seemed like a great way to cap off our evening. Now, it was a busy night, and I get that things can get hectic behind the bar. My priority was to seat my friend, who is blind, first before heading up to order. Simple enough, right? That's when the night took a turn. I approached the bar, ready to order, and was greeted (if you can call it that) by a female-presenting staff member who immediately barked at me, "You need to queue!" Fair enough, I thought, but where? So, I politely asked, "Sure, where does the queue start?" Instead of a helpful response, she snapped again, more aggressively this time, "You need to queue." Confused, but still calm, I asked again, genuinely wanting to follow whatever rule I had missed. But instead of pointing me in the right direction, she yelled at me about a sign outside. I was startled but figured I must have overlooked it in my hurry to get my friend seated. Sure enough, there was a small, easily missed sign—nothing special, just an A4 printout on a cheap stand. Realising my innocent mistake, I hurried to collect my friend, but the way this staff member treated me left a bad taste in my mouth. It wasn’t just a quick comment; I felt as if I was being talked to like I was beneath her. And then came the flip side. A male-presenting staff member approached us as we stood there, and he was the complete opposite: super friendly, understanding, and helpful. I explained my situation—how I was just trying to seat my disabled friend—and he kindly found us a table right away. He handled it with such warmth and care that it made the earlier experience all the more jarring. But despite his kindness, I couldn’t shake the negative energy from that initial interaction. I wasn’t rude, confrontational, or difficult, so I can only assume they misjudged me as someone not worthy of their establishment. For whatever reason, it felt like I was being treated as though I didn’t belong there. It’s been a few weeks since that visit, and honestly, I’ve hesitated to write this because the memory still leaves a sour note. In the past, I’ve had great experiences here, and maybe others will too, depending on who they interact with. But for me, I won’t be returning. It’s unfortunate when one rude staff member can overshadow what could’ve been a lovely evening.

An excellent few hours spent learning to make cocktails with Chris and Matt for a friends hen do. By far the best cocktail making class I've been to (I've done a few!!) So many different amazing cocktails to choose from (and the freedom to choose whichever ones we wanted). Chris and Matt were both very knowledgeable and fun and we all had a great time. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back for a drink or two if we return to Margate. Thank you muchly!

Like this cocktail bar. Good service good choice of drinks. Nice venue with friendly helpful staff. Good menu with Matrinis beers margaritas etc. Nice place to drink and quirky style of the bar. Booking necessary to guarantee a table especially during busy times.

The cocktail making was brilliant. Matt and Chris were excellent.

They certainly know how to make a cocktail or two or three. It's a quaint bar with limited spaces, so Reservation is essential, to a few, it may seem a tad expensive but it's a cocktail bar, selling cocktails !! If cocktails aren't your thing, you can have a glass of wine.

Cool and classy space for cocktails...

Very inventive and original cocktail menu, I went straight for the pangalactic gargle blaster of course. Great crew, big fan of the quirky dark steampunk decor and the chill vibe, basically the yin to the sparkly yang across the street.

Amazing cocktails would recommend to anyone who likes funky drinks with a twist and if you like classic cocktails there amazing too and service is pukka too nothing bad all good and they do holiday specials 😀

Yummy amazing cocktails 🍸 We walked in without a reservation and were seated immediately. The lady who served us was fantastic and helped me choose my cocktails wisely 😊 we ended up having 4 different cocktails and really enjoyed them all. Amazing place, highly recommend. 🍸

Sat at the bar and ordered a bunch of cocktails, all of them excellent. Very creative menu with plenty of original creations. One of the best cocktail bars I've been to all year.

If It was just on drinks I'd give 5 stars but it was a quiet night and its supposed to be table service with covid restrictions unfortunately we had to get up every time we wanted a drink table next to us seems to get more attentive service not sure why. We were out for birthday drinks and were really happy when we were able to extend our original hour slot so thought we'd have a couple as we were no longer rushed was a bit unimpressed that the server made a joke we must be pouring the drinks in to our bags because we happened to have a couple of rounds. Aside from that It was nice.

I visited Clockwork while I was in Margate for the weekend. It's a small, lovely, retro-looking cocktail bar with a lovely assortment of drinks. Went with a company of 8 friends and we had a great time here. Music was good, drinks arrived on time and the service was great. Great vibe altogether. I'd absolutely recommend.

The drinks were incredible and The staff were really nice. Had such a good night here tucked into the corner and so had some privacy. 100% recommend.

Brilliant place to go, so good I nearly tried every drink on the menu. There's also the option for bartenders to make drinks not on the menu, (so watch out there) as the drinks are so good you can easily spend all night there (and all your money)... but it'll be worth it. This is a fantastic bar with great atmosphere and the steampunk decor makes this place another unique quirky gem.

Friggin awesome cocktails and great staff! Can't wait to go again! Cocktail prices are in line with what I would have expected, but they tasted stronger than other places, so you definitely get your money's worth!

It was my first time visiting this place although I live locally, and we had the best time. Took full advantage of happy hour, and then some, including a giant cocktail! Will be visiting again when I can :)

It was nice. When I went there was no one in there so I can't comment on the atmosphere but the staff where friendly and polite. There's food options but they said they where happy for us to bring food from elsewhere.

I'm sorry the bar staff are great and make good drinks, but if your looking for a good night out then don't bother with this gaff. The locals don't like new comers. Pre drinks only.

Really great cocktail lounge with some interesting concoctions. The Edison's Elixer in a lightbulb glass is a particular favourite. Great staff and manager are always there to make suggestions. Would definately come again when in Margate. Highly recommend.

One of the best cocktails bars I've been. I got introduced to this place by a friend recently and I already been here three times. They have a range of cocktails and they are all excellent. Quirky Scandinavian touched interior full of clocks and clcockwheels. Staff is amazing and friendly. If you are in town you must try this awesome bar.
