Po' Boy "The Creole Fish Hut" in Thanet

Lovely food and friendly staff. We ordered the Po’Boys, tacos and chips which were fantastic, really flavoursome. Would definitely recommend for a quick meal sat in the sun by the beach.

I cannot recommend The Creole Fish Hut enough - delicious food, a decent portion, and super friendly staff. It was easy to get a seat and a coffee next door. It set us up for a fantastic Saturday in Margate.

Came here for lunch and absolutely impressed by the food. We ordered the King prawn po’boy, Fish Tacos and Creole Fish and Chips, loved them all.

Not a traditional po boy by any means but the samurai was delicious. The prawns were fried perfectly; the toppings including slaw and sauce were a winning combination. I also ordered the fried pickles (spears, not discs) and they were some of the best I’ve had. I would recommend a visit for lunch.

I have been coming down every year and I am never disappointed! My favourite dish is Samurai prawn salad closely followed by fish tacos. My grandson had his first PoBoy fish and chips and loved it .I love the food, the atmosphere and all the staff are very friendly.

Really lovely place with delicious fresh fish and chips with a twist. Beautiful vibe overlooking the sea and the women serving were lovely and helpful.

Don't even deserve 1 star . 4 of us had different fish and chips and it tasted awful and it wasn't traditional at all with skinny burned chips. Just don't waste your money

The food was amazing to be honest. My only complaint is that I have a son with severe allergies who was at first thrilled he could eat somewhere but then made to feel a bit rubbish as the person serving complained that “was it worth having” if some of the things were removed. Well yeah, for a kid that cannot eat anywhere it’s exciting to be able to have anything really. It put him off wanting to come back this summer for food. Especially as I was willing and happy to pay full price whilst also asking for some ingredients to be removed. However I do highly recommend the food, it’s delicious. Would I go again? For sure.

Fresh fish. Oil where its been fried no so fresh. Fussy lady, I was asked to wait at 2 minutes to 5pm, the place only opens at 5 she said. Is not what you say is how you say it. Could make all the difference. Very salty, spice already have salt no need to add salt to the food.

I've been coming here for three years and the fish tacos are always amazing.

Had a lovely beach day - made even better by grabbing take out from here. Samurai Po'Boy salad was incredible, as were other dishes ordered by the family - fries and panko breadcrumbed pickles. Will definitely be going back here!!

You need their seaweed salted chips in your life! Great range of sauces and its awesome to have something a little different available in terms of fish and chips in Margate.

Delicious food! Fish and fries tasted freshly cooked and crunchy. Came with a generous amount of sauces too. Staff were friendly and efficient. Only waited ~10min for food.

They stopped taking orders 1h before closing time because they were "behind ourselves". If they cannot properly manage a stall on the beach, I would suggest to leave the job to someone who can do it properly - there will surely be plenty of candidates.

Loved it, great team, doing bits with the food, panko geniuses, po-boy was DElicious, also Creole deep fried tofu with siracha mayo, and they seemed to work so well together

Wow! This place is a hidden gem - most definitely worth stopping at.... Juicy and freshly fried panko bread crumbed prawns and delicious chips. Never had food of this quality at the seaside before!

The best and the most delicious traditional fish & chips so far. The fish was so delicious, crispy outside and flaky and soft inside. Not overcooked and greasy. The place is just next to the beach. Definitely recommend the place. Lovely and beautiful staff.

I enjoyed the tastiest po-boy ever. It was the scallop po-boy. Even the bread was fresh and delicious. My wife had the shrimp po-boy and was also very pleased. Service was with a smile.

Really lovely fish with crunchy spicy breadcrumbs and heaps of skinny fries. You will leave well fed! It's a great place to catch the last of the sunshine outside and watch the waves come in with gorgeous food. I'm a big fan of Peters but this could win my heart!

Delicious food, wonderful staff and an amazing setting. I would recommend anyone travelling to Thanet for a weekend in the sun, to check out the Sun Deck and grab a po boy, they're so so good.

Visited twice on our recent one week stay in Margate. Fantastic idea, executed well. Panko scallops with yuzu dressing and crispy shallots a highlight, but my son’s fish ginger sarnie went down surprisingly well as did the Cajun fish and chips. Well worth a visit.

Nice little place (it's a hut on the promenade), serving nicely cooked fish and seafood 'po boy' style in a baguette. Creatively put together and thought out menu with satisfying portions although at £8/£9 each you'd expect them to be. Lost a few points for me for slightly greasy chips and a bit of less than friendly service (but it was a hot bank holiday Sunday so maybe this can be forgiven).
