Me and my mates came in cause some nitty was following us around and we went in and he got rid of the nitty and the food was really good

Highly recommend if you’re craving a proper Indian meal that feels homemade but with restaurant-level quality even the pizzas are one of my highest. We won’t be ordering from anywhere else!

Took my money and didn't deliver what I asked for won't be back seems if you pay cash you get a decent order DO NOT pay by card

Ordered for 18.30 came at 17.30 while I was out collecting the bairn firing dancing ! Said I could have 20% off my next order if I ordered direct but literally half of my £40 order went in the bin

There was a 70 - 90. min delivery time and they still exceeded this delivery time. I had to call the take away and they said it was on the way and he had a few stops before he was due to arrive. Food arrived at 20.05pm.

Very late and low quality food

beautiful as normal iv3le used these guys since I was pregnant in 2006. craved hot pineapple use to send with my order my kids 18 now lol thought don't forget you .

Waited 2hrs, food delivered to wrong house. Driver blamed sat nav had to ring ; times to sort out. When food arrived after 10pm! Naan was cold. Real disappointment

Tandoori mix grill was amazing absolutely out this world also the punjabi chips was fresh ! What a little gem this place is

Have ordered chicken and lamb jalfrezis, chicken dansaks and naans from here multiple times and the quality has always been fantastic. Never disappoints and they're good with any changes you might want to a dish. The naans have a decent amount of filling inside and don't come charred to death like some places.

Had an issue with missing items however restaurant handled it really well!

Quick delivery, followed package instructions missing few items from order but were refund for them straight away. Salad was lovely and fresh too

Poor. Ordered at 7.15 with 8.15- 8.35 delivery slot. Delivered after 9.30 after calling; a meal missing and no sundries with starter. Another call then final meal delivered after 10pm but spoiled the NYE experience for us.

Their pizzas are lovely and fantastic value. Beware if ordering a large pizza as they are mega large. Also ordered chips with masala curry cause and a keema nan. Tasty mid week treat.

Well, first time in years I have ordered from this place, and I remember why I stopped. Food arrived early (which isn't always a bad thing, buy hold on.....) The masala pizza clearly hadn't been cooked long enough because NONE of the ingredients

Missed half my order and would not rectify this, was told they would give me it on my next order!

Food was good and was hot so no way could it have left the premises when we got notification of courier on their way. Food arrived at 8.25pm.

Been ordering from her for months, I order the special offer, any 3 12" pizzas for £24, indian pizzas £1.50 extra, so I ordered 1 normal and two to be indian pizzas, total £27 placed order then received a phonecall to say that I needed to pay the driver an extra 1.50 per indian pizza as I chose lamb and its expensive, so that's 1.50 extra to change to indian pizzas then an added 1.50 for lamb £3 extra in total for the 2 indian pizzas plus another 3 quid also for lamb, it doesn't make sense, , £33 quid in total it came 2 including delivery and order was still wrong, shame as it was my go 2 place.

fantastic curry from here thought I would try somewhere new and the bhuna was excellent very flavourful probably one of the best curries I've had in years I will definitely be ordering again thank you clay oven 👍😀

Ordered from.here.for around 2 years every week forgot.my sauces to be told sorry it will be 15 20 minutes but you will.have to pay for your sauce as we forgot to charge you and I didn't take your order! Great customer service skills last time I will ever order.

Waited 2 hours for delivery to then be contacted to say they had missed our meal and it will take another hour at least before we would get our food not to say our meal came to £65

Ordered a meal for home delivery tonight. Food lovely. However delivery driver helped himself to a tip. This is unacceptable. He would have received a better tip if he hadn't stolen from us. This puts me off ordering from clay oven again. Family and friends will be informed of this behaviour

Waited over an hour for delivery. phoned up to enquire & ended up cancelling. Snotty kid on phone was a d*ck, and got off telling me my refund would be 5 to 10 days. Keep your money and go elswhere!

First time I have ordered from Clay Oven and was impressed. The site said the order would be an hour and it came in about 50 mins which is great, I appreciate realistic and honest delivery times. I went for a methi lamb and naan bread and some samosas to bulk out the order as breakfast fodder so I can only comment on the main at this point (the samosas do look awesome mind). The curry was really generous with loads of lamb and not at all greasy or oily. It was a bit light on the methi for me but I am a massive fan of its bitter taste and I understand that they have to cater for everyone who isn't me and I could always order extra next time. The standard chilli heat level is higher than my South Shields' educated palate but again that's me and now I know where they're coming from I will ask for mild next time. I this sounds like a lot of negatives but it's not, it was a lovely curry delivered when they said it would be and I will defo use them again Edit: out of sheer greediness just had one of the meat samosas - awesome!

Last night ordered pizza and curry, not a massive order but 27quid is 27quid at the minute. Was about to cancel when it arrived after 1hour 55mins, as you can imagine pizza was freezing but worse was curry had burst and was in bottom of carrier bag which was binned immediately. Did try a slice of pizza but was like chewing cardboard so was also binned, really disappointed, never again.

Lkvrly food. Our meal was flavoursome, hot and tasted freshly prepared. Nan breads were lovely and the onion bhaji was delicious. It was quite busy and I arrived at the time as instructed during pre-order, but still had to wait a good 10 minutes. I'm being a little picky though as staff were very friendly and apologetic for my wait. Would definitely go again and recommend. All round good experience.

Ordered a Meat Thali (tikka and bunha) and a pepperoni pizza. Absolutely amazing. Delivery was super fast as well. Possibly the nicest Indian I’ve had in years

Order arrived 45 mins earlier than stated on the app! Remarkably it was also absolutely stone cold. Complete and utter waste of time. I've requested a refund of course, but I'll still have to pay the £4 delivery fee.

Order: Onion bhaji starters, mushroom pilau rice, peshawari naan, vegetable korma, and vegetable dansak. First time I've used The Clay Oven in a while as I have got my wife to choose any takeaways we get. I now feel a right muppet for recommending it. Started well as the order was on time for collection. Once home and we got ino the food I found the onion bhaji was tasty; crispy with a nice sauce and slice of lemon. Then we opened the mains. At this point we found out that my wife's vegetable korma was in fact chicken. I called straight away and was told the order would be corrected and could be sent out, but would be quicker if collected. I decided to collect rather than sit with my own food getting cold while we waited for the delivery. Once into the food we both found it very salty, to the point my wife couldn't actually eat her meal. It may have been the mushroom pilau rice we shared, or the food in general. The peshawari naans were nice, but were a bit tough by time we got into them due to the mix up. I was surprised by the very basic apology given over the phone and when I picked up the replacement order. There was no offer of compensation by way of food or discount for the mistake, not that I asked, but in hindsight I would have thought even the offer of a few poppadoms would have been a nice gesture. Overall a dissapointing experience for somewhere I used to order from every other week. Looks like it's back to ladies choice next time.

Food is lovely but need change delivery. I ordered food at 18.45 and we waiting nearly 1 hour and the delivery man couldn't find my address so from Chapel House to Westdenton take 5 minutes so disappointed not order again 😑

clay oven is not what it used to be, the meals are now rubbish lucky to get more than 3 bits of chicken worth about 50p and they have nerve to charge £7 /£8 for a disguting tasteless meal.chef must have no idea!

Always used clay over but today we had a horrible meal chef has changed In my mind. Ordered masala was no better than a jar from morrisons. Orders keema nanns with no meat in them. Shame cos we have used them for years but now time for a change.

absolutely first class food...believe me i have had many takeaways including the new takeaway restaurant in chapel house which was not great and Clay oven has never delievered anything but outstanding food...soeak as i find .

Absolutely shocking service. Website allows you to order a pizza, add to basket, pop up asks to add fries for 20p, say yes. Call from restaurant asking if want pizza or fries say both as that's what ordered. Asked to pay as card hasn't been authorised (pay over phone again). Delivery comes, not full order. Call to enquire. Speak to 4 separate people. Told there's a bug on the site but thanks for bringing it to their attention. Charged 11.70 for first order + 6.80 for second. Essentially all the same order. Still cannot make sense of it all though do now understand how this lot make money. Thoroughly enjoyed paying 11. 70 to be a web tester for them. Top service.

Ordered a lamb tikka masala with pilau rice and a lamb rogan josh with chips.. both meals were absolutely disgusting, inedible and had to throw them away in the bin.. The lamb tikka masala sauce was dark red instead of an orange colour and very runny with hardly any flavour. The lamb was grizzly and chewy, definitely the worst Indian take away I've had. The lamb rogan josh might as well of been a vindaloo it was that spicy.. there were no tomatoes, very oily "as in I could poor the oil off the surface of the dish into a glass" and extremely spicy, again absolutely disgusting. 100% not worth £19, daylight robbery and will never order from there again!!! I would prefer a full refund but can't be bothered with the hassle of it all!!!

Should be called Clay Cold. Twice, its took 1.5hrs, 2nd time not even warm. Had to microwave for 3 mins. Ruined the pizza. All that effort to make a tasty pizza and its not edible

Got Bolognese Pizza asked for extra cheese hardly any cheese on also mince looked out of a tin very mushy got cheesy chips omg where was the cheese & waited ages for delivery had to heat up in microwave its not as though they were busy I'm talking 5'0clock defo won't be ordering from them again!😠😤

Food took an hour and a half to come. When it arrived I was given the wrong order. The food was cold and possibly the worst madras I've ever had from here. Never will I ever order again.

Poor, we had 2 naanbabs, chips were cooked in old oil, very little chicken and no onion in the salad, basically a lump of shredded lettuce. Chilli sauce is excellent, garlic not so good. Naan bread was excellent. Wouldn't use again, menu I the bin.

Can't fault in any way. We don't go here often but the food is good.
