Great old school pub almost dead centre of the city. Small and cozy so it does fill up pretty quick, but that just makes the atmosphere even better. Definitely put it on your list if you want good ale, great atmosphere and a good night.

Real Ale with loyalty card in operation

Not been in for a while but was very happy that I did try it again. The Titanic Plum porter was really good. The decor is "lived in" wooden reminiscent of many old Belgian beer cafes to be honest. This place should be cherished.

Este fue uno de mis abrevaderos favoritos cuando trabajé en la ciudad, así que me pareció apropiado visitarlo cuando conocí a un viejo colega de trabajo. Por suerte, no ha cambiado. Hay un montón de cervezas para elegir y disfruté de mis pintas. Claramente está haciendo algo bien cuando está ocupado el primer miércoles del año nuevo a pesar del mal tiempo.

Tuve un buen sabor a media pinta de ciruela Estaba tranquilo cuando visité la zona acogedora en la parte trasera. Sin embargo, vi un ratón desapareciendo bajo uno de los asientos del banco.

One of the classic heritage pubs in the heart of Manchester, the City Arms is a must. It gets very busy, so it's sometimes difficult to get a table, but the cask beer quality and selection makes it all worthwhile. In a word: belting. Pop in for a pint and enjoy! 🍺👍

Great little spot just behind the hustle and bustle of the great city of Manchester Been a few times over the years but first time taking my wife in and her review was 'I could sit in here all day'. High praise indeed

Nice small pub with good beers on

Nipped in here on our visit to Manchester's Pubs, wasn't on our list but thought "Why Not", we weren't disappointed and glad we did. Great atmosphere, nicely busy, decent crowd and nice mix of clientele, enjoyed relaxing with a pint. People just lazily enjoying themselves, sevice was good too, get it on your list if visiting Manchester.

My husband said it's the best pint of bitter he's had for a long time. A thought for your occasional female customer, please clean the floors so your feet don't stick to them!

A superb city centre boozer with 8 cask, 2 keg ales on in regular rotation - including the excellent Plum Porter by Titanic Brewery The friendly staff don't mind you spilling out on to the street on a Saturday night, mixing with office types and students Wooden panelling and traditional pub decor complete the experience. One of the best pubs in the city center of Manchester

We only had a few beers but the service was great. Music not to our taste buy it won't stop us going back.

Normalmente otorgaría un 5 a la maravillosa City Arms, una joya mancuniana clásica virgen que he estado disfrutando durante medio siglo. Sin embargo, la última vez que fui allí, una de mis pintas, un suave oscuro, se volvió cada vez más desagradable de beber y a mitad de camino se había vuelto distintivamente avinagrada en la nariz, un signo natural del final del barril en cualquier cerveza viva. Señalando esto al servidor joven, esperaba un reemplazo como habría sucedido incuestionablemente en los muchos pubs de cerveza artesanal que visito. Pero en este caso el joven declaró que el leve estaba bien y su condición de apagado era solo mi opinión. En vano señalé que había estado bebiendo dulces oscuros desde antes de que él naciera. Creo que sería beneficiosa cierta formación del personal en gestión de bodegas y relaciones con los clientes.

Visited before the City West Ham game. Good selection of beer including Titanic Plum Porter. Service excellent even though very busy - Full of not really all that nervous City supporters. Hope everyone enjoyed the evening after the game. Look forward to next season and a rare West Ham win.

A truly fun, cozy pub that was rockin’ on an early Friday afternoon. Full of groups of friends catching up over some fine ales. Rustic is an understatement. This place has seen its share of time and patrons. Young, friendly guy at the bar explained some of their cask options, of which there are many. Plenty of regular draft, too. An absolute classic of a pub that I fear will disappear based on the age of the clientele.

I have been visiting this pub for over 20 years and h is a great little place. The beer selection is always good and it has a laid back vibe. It's well worth a visit if you haven't been.

Great place with a selection of eight beers. The head they leave on a pint is much larger than it used to be and the staff are very friendly and helpful. There are pies available if it's too cold to pop out for food.

My 'go to' pub' in the city centre. Traditional, small, two roomed bar with a good selection of real ales, including gluten free and vegan. Great for a quiet pint or two, weekdays. Can't be relied upon to have bar snacks available.

This is one of the few remaining quality traditional pubs in Manchester. Wood, brass, glass, tiles, good ale, good laugh, cosy. I hope it never changes.

Excellent pub less than 10 minutes walk from Manchester Piccadilly Station. Eight cask beers on handpump including two porters and a mild when I last visited. A few seats outside on the quiet street. Very friendly and helpful staff. The pub is located between a Wetherspoon’s pub called the Waterhouse and the Vine Inn.
