Barlow croft in Manchester

I recently found the wackey warehouse and my son loves it. We called in for some food afterwards and although the restaurant was busy, staff were able to move around some bookings to accommodate myself and 2 toddlers. (Sons Cousin joined us too) All the staff went above and beyond to help- even managing to extend our table stay longer so that I didn’t have to rush with my toddlers. (I think they could see I was struggling a little- also 6 months pregnant). Every staff member from the front desk to the table staff were friendly, polite and made us feel at easy and comfortable even interacting with the children too . My son wasn’t happy that he didn’t have a cone on his ice cream and the waiter tried his best to offer Maltesers to add to make him happy. They could also see me struggling with my take away cavery as the kids made it too hectic for me to eat. So I decided to take my food home to enjoy in peace later. They came over with a take away bag for me which made carrying my food along with all the toddlers things so much easier. Honestly from a tired, exhausted mum, little things like this are big things and a kind face/ interaction just helps the stresses of parenting that little bit better. I’m not normally one to write a review but the staff really do deserve a pat on the back. Unfortunately I didn’t have enough money to tip them but they do deserve recognition. A kind friendly service that ensures our next visit to the wacky warehouse will also transpire to a visit for some food afterwards too. Thank you ☺️

Just had a wonderful experience! Me and my son were having a mummy son day and came to get a carvery. I asked could I be placed near the carvery so I could watch my son as I got my food which they obliged. Debs went above and beyond by giving my son a colouring page, crayons and sat with him whilst I got our food. She is honestly such a legend and such a lovely lady. She made the whole experience amazing and my 1 year old son loved her. Thank you to debs and all the staff at Barlow Croft. I will definitely be visiting again x Btw the carvery was gorgeous!

We went for the carvery dinner at the Barlow Croft two days before Christmas, and were really impressed with the food and the friendly service. We had been out for pub Christmas dinners a few other times this year, and this was by far the best food, and at a fraction of the cost of the others. All cooked well and served hot. Thank you and well done to the cooks and the really pleasant staff in the restaurant and in the bar. A happy new year to you all, and we will certainly be back!

Great place and atmosphere. Food was good and service was great. Matt was really helpful.

Had such a lovely welcome and overall experience. The food was lovely and arrived in good time. Matt seemed genuinely interested in making sure our party was happy and comfortable. Real nice, hardworking guy, couldn't do enough for us. Had a laugh and a chat with him. His girlfriend is a real lucky lady.

From the start to the end visiting here was great for the whole family we enjoyed the ball pit and soft play areas staff were amazing and kind nothing to doubt this place about visiting again would highly recommend food tasted great also and is good prices

Attended for a work community event. Staff were incredibly accommodating and helpful, as well as setting the tone through their friendliness and good humour.

Came in today with my girlfriend and has a lovely carvery dinner was served my Deb the manager and she was absolutely lovely couldn’t ask for better service

The food was horrible and the chef completely forgot to cook 2 adult meal and a kids meal with starters and left us for nearly an hour before saying something will not be coming back here again

Recently visited the Wacky warehouse with my family we decided to go next door for food at Barlow croft I asked 2 members of staffs if there was table free they said yes but I should of booked in advance they kept turning there back on me while I was talking and one kept playing a game on there phone - it was immensely rude I don’t know what’s happened with food portions at this Greene king order a chicken mix combo it was the same size as my sons food child - i order the same thing at Greene king restaurants it’s double the size & presented like on the picture for nearly £12 I expected it to be bigger than my sons £4 meal Overall food disappointing & staff were not friendly at all :/

We came in from the wacky warehouse ordered 2 cokes and sat down and ordered our food on the app. Ordered 2 of the cheesy meltdown burgers as they sounded really good. Ended up waiting half an hour and had to go up and ask where our food was as we where the only customers in there apart from a small group in the pub section who where just drinking. The staff went and checked and then came out and old us they had to remake our food as it had fallen apart. It would have been nice to have been informed this instead of having to come up to the bar and having to ask. When the food came it looked really good, we ordered halloumi fries, 2 cheesy meltdown burgers and a baby Heinz pouch (which was really good that they had food for babies). They did ask if we wanted it warm or cold too which was amazing. The food was really really bland and tasteless. The cheese sauce that you pour ontop of the burger had no taste whatsoever and the bacon was partly burnt. The burger patty had no flavour either. Was awful and both of us left half our burger as it just wasn’t good at all. The atmosphere was nice and so where the staff the food just wasn’t great

Served by Rhodesy today and he was a delight. Can't wait to come back x

Came in for a quick bite with friends. Got some chips and wings. Was served by Matt.. couldn’t do more for us. Making sure we had everything we needed. Made a few jokes with us. 10/10 Will be back!

The Croft Pub and Cavery(Matt)- Warm and welcoming, my first time staying in Manchester and this particular bartender was a Gentleman in all aspects. Food and drink were spectacular. Would visit again :-)

Have visited this pub several times and it's been good but this particular evening was excellent. Although there was only 3 staff serving, they just seemed to gel and the Assistant Manager, Matt was multi tasking too, somethingyou don'toften see. This makes for an efficient experience for customers even when short staffed. I love visiting places where staff are happy and friendly, Jake, Adam and Matt were certainly this.

Had a lovely family meal here, the food was amazing and came out so quick. The staff were lovely and helped us out with everything we needed, especially the men on the bar. Would recommend to anyone.

The staff were very helpful, but unfortunately the food was very average.We had the carvery,we paid extra for pigs in blankets that we didn't get, there was no mash ready, very few roast potatoes, and the sprouts were rock hard, and the rest was luke warm. Shame because the place is nice, and the staff are friendly, and do their best.

Matt was really helpful and informed us in quick stead about the timings for when the food is and isn’t available, would recommend!

Had lunch here today (29th Oct 2024) and received excellent patient service from (I believe it was Rory) for my far from simple order, when the food came it was lovely and worth every penny. We will return should we visit the area again in the future, thankyou 🙂

Very child friendly, just what we need with a 1 year old. Foods good and good price. Staff very attentive and friendly every time we come in. Great day for all family. Would recommend.

So shocking staff was a bit rude, we got drinks and sat down. We had a baby.. half way through our drinks we were told we are not allowed to sit here. Put signs up so people know. hello look around there are lots of tables, Sunday is a day theos table should be used, the a mount of people I saw coming and leaving. Won’t be coming back there. Usually come with 50 people before and after Christmas.

Awful place! The manager Beth if she even is a manager is just pure rude.! Deffo shouldn’t be working there. How ever Jake the team leader there is lovely!

Went for my daughter’s 9th birthday party and would like to say a massive massive thank you to Berta and Alex who were really nice to kids and made sure they all had an amazing time. Would highly recommend and will definitely be coming back next time we have a party.

We have had two parties at Wacky Warehouse and all the kids have enjoyed themselves with an hour of play and 30mins for party food. All the staff are wonderful and make each party feel special.

We have always love to eat here - got family nearby. Food is delicious, fresh and tasty. My son has a nut allergy and they always ask us about allergies and preferences when we order. It’s reassuring and makes you feel like you’re in safe hands. Clean, modern dining area and high standards, with friendly staff. Highly recommended by this fussy mum.

Wow, the food may have been amazing if I could find any way possible to get to you... Please sort some signage... N.B. See the venue responce - As I said the food may have been amazing, it is the struggle to find the place which is fustrating. I entered by the front of the complex, skirting round to the left and into the car park area - I see one sign to follow and go towards - I see a second sign, follow the road and somehow end up out of the complex and heading towards Cheadle. Yes, some elements are beyond the venues control - the reviews for the food and the staff speak for themselves. Please note this review refers to finding the venue and I hope a staff membmer can take my path in and ask themselves the question ' would they have found you'?

To the company of Green King Harry is a great person and a great aset to your company, haveing a small issue not based on behalf of the venue, this problem was resolved with in minutes, approached the situation with great customer service , this place has a full turn around and this is not my thirst review as I do them up and down the northwest , I think that deserves to be mentioned for his great customer service and gave me options, on this visit I will continue to support green king , the turn around is noticed and I think you all should give it a try , Yeah, thanks harry and good luck in the future,

Came in today as a table of 5 without a booking, the lady at the host stand was very helpful with seating us, the gentleman behind the bar had great enthusiasm while serving us and food came out looking great, highly recommend

Bar staff member was very friendly, super happy with the bar service. Was served a burger on a rock hard bun, was sent out another that had been nuked in the microwave… Yorkshire puddings weren’t bad… Beer not bad, I’d avoid the food…. Also all the doors were open due to the heat, lots of people smoking in the doorway and the smell of tobacco was a little unbearable at times

Went to barlow croft with my mum for her 70th just on a whim to see if we could eat as there was 10 of us. The staff so friendly and polite and threw 3 tables together for us. Mother enjoyed her food and so did the rest of us. Will definitely go there again.
