Visited here with the Wife for lunch and was left disappointed, the price of the food does not compare with the quality. I had the burger and tasted very cheaply made, was left disappointed with the food over all.

Extremely disappointed. Used to be a cafe with good food and decent portion sizes. Since my most recent visit prices seem to have gone up AGAIN! With portion sizes being a joke. £11.95 for a roast in a cafe and all I get is 1 slice of beef ,very small portion of mash and potatoes and seemed to fill the plate with majority veg as that is the cheapest thing.

My husband and I went for our annual Christmas lunch. The turkey was succulent and the rest of the food was also excellent. Although it was very busy as was expected the staff were friendly and on the ball clearing tables as soon as soon as they became available. During busy periods it is adviseable to book if you require a specific table or don't want to wait for a table although people weren't having to wait too long to be seated. We would highly recommend this cafe and will be booking again next year for our Christmas lunch although we will be visiting during the year to enjoy a meal from their normal menu.

Good food, clean, spacious and well presented tea room with a decent selection of food and fair prices. Friendly staff, and attentive with regards to cleaning tables and upkeep of the eating area. Recommended.

Come here regularly for tea and cakes and occasionally a meal. Variety of cakes, all delicious are on offer, menu is varied and very well cooked and presented. The staff are brilliant, very pleasant and helpful and nothing is too much trouble.

Ordered traditional minced beef and onion pie with veg and potatos, I asked for chips and mushy peas and they were very obliging. Good strong cuppa too. Highly recommend if your looking for good quality home cooked food.

Worth visiting Pendle Village if only to experience The Chocolate Strawberry cafe. A great cafe serving excellent reasonably priced food by the most pleasant attentive staff. We are lucky enough to live close by and we frequently visit. It speaks volumes that a large percentage of the older generation eat there, they are no fools! Not an extensive menu, but what they do, they do well. Take a look at the burger that I had during this visit. A visit to the loo is also pleasing as there has been no expense spared in the sanitary ware either. All in all well done.

The food here is great and I often lunch here with friends. The outlook onto the Courtyard area is lovely. The staff are friendly and helpful. They also serve some lovely cakes and cater for people with gluten intolerance.

What a fantastic place. We visited on 17th February for a light lunch while we visited the area. We enjoyed it so much we went back on the 19th. There is plenty of seating both indoor and outdoor, tables for 2, 3, 4 and more and also comfy sofa areas. The staff are very friendly and polite and service is first class. There is a very good selection of food and drinks which is well prepared. A very clean place with excellent facilities. It's difficult to think of anything negative about this lovely place. We will definately be back very soon.

A recent reviewer complained that there was no disabled access to the counter where food etc has to be ordered. Just to put the record straight - there is a ramp leading off the main dining room and that leeds to the toilets (including toilets for the disabled) and has a door leading to the upper dining area on the same level as the serving counter. Therefore there is wheelchair access into the main shop from the parking area, a ramp from the shop into the restaurant and from there to the toilets and/or the service area. No problem!

Just had lunch at this tearoom and it was excellent, my wife and I had the fish chips & mushy peas & bread & butter, best fish and chips for miles.

We always enjoy our visits here, good hot food sensibly priced is served by polite and pleasant staff.

Went Friday around one pm to meet up with a friend. Place was busy and only a few tables spare. The seated area is accessible for people with disability and mobility problems but is a ways from the car park. You make your choice from the menu, get your table number then go to the counter to order and pay. This section is not accessible for the disabled as it has a number of steps up to it. I didn’t notice any other way up. There were a lovely selection of cakes on display in this area as well which looked very tempting. A wide range of condiments in sachets available on the dining area floor. I ordered the burger with added cheese and bacon with a bottle of sparkling water. My friend had prawns with baked potato and a latte. Even though they were busy it didn’t seem to take long before our food was brought over to is. This was good as my friend was on her lunch break. Burger was good. Bacon was tasty but I am not a big fan of cheese like this on a burger. Although I do love cheese I prefer the processed cheese slice on a burger. It was a bit overpowering for me and if I had again I would order without. The chips appeared to be fresh and home made not frozen. One or two could have done with a little more frying. Plus it wasn’t the biggest of portions. However, these are minor quibbles. I would be happy to dine there again. The menu has a nice variety of options from hot and cold sandwiches, jacket potatoes and main meals. Not forgetting the cakes up near the till. Prices for me seemed very competitive. My burger with added cheese and bacon and a drink was a little over £10. The number of people dining there suggests they are doing something right.

Large traditional cafe / tea room. Open every day and just a couple of minutes from the canal if you’re walking like us.

Always a pleasure to visit the Strawberry. I am glad to see they have survived the pandemic and looking better than ever. The choice of food is excellent and service is always enthusiastic. Beware the cakes and sweet goods display, it is very tempting !

Recommended by a friend, so went on a mission through rising rivers and flooded roads. An old mill re vamped into a cafe and shopping experience. The cafe is well run, wheelchair accessible, lovely toilets and a really nice menu. We went Sunday 10am, it soon filled up with regulars, Their food is fresh and really nice, the cakes are not my thing but the unicorn cake was well received by my wife. Staff were accommodating thinking I was taking pics for my wife, but it was for this review! The staff really made the place, thank you.
