Picked up our pre ordered fish & chips at six this evening. Best fish and chips for years, fresh and hot. Really enjoyed them. thank you

Can't complain about the cooking of the fish - it was perfect. I had ordered salt and vinegar but when I got home it appeared to have been overlooked. The salt wasn't a big deal as we had some indoors. The biggest problem was the chips which were undercooked and had to be thrown away.

Just picked my first lot of fish and chips up from the Broken Cross chippy. I ordered on the website which was really easy to use and had loads of detail on it to make sure your order was perfect. Picked up at the time I inputted and it had just been made fresh. Lovely and Hot and not too greasy at all. Both the wife and myself said it was the best chippy we have had in a very long time. Restaurant standard. Superb. Will go again.

We don't often eat chippy meals but with lock down gave this & try in July & used it for the 3rd time last night. Firstly the food is delicious. Secondly with lock down we now order on line & book a time for collection. The website is very user friendly and the meal is ready promptly. It's about the only thing that's better since the pandemic as we don't have to queue for ages in the chip shop & everything is freshly cooked. Finally we put in a request for a meal for a relation self isolating and asked for it to be bagged separately. No problem for them. This is a very well run takeaway.

Just moved in to the area. Thought I'd give it a go as obviously the constant queue outside must mean it's good! Bit awkward to order for one person as I had to spend over a certain amount. But holy smokes batman!!! I would've paid double!

We travel from Chelford for this chippy because its worth it! The quality of the food is unbelievable, so fresh and always hot! This is without a doubt our favourite chippy! Food always fast and great value for money. Keep up the good work!!

A busy chippy is a good sign and this place is always busy when we drive past so tonight we decided to try 'The Chippy' for the first time. The shop was spotless, the staff friendly and the food top notch. Definitely going back for my chippy tea soon. Well done guys! Jenny

Visited on a very busy Friday night, I don’t have chippy very often, but I have to say this was the best I’ve ever tasted. Chips were gorgeous, fish was most moist fish and the peas were tasty. 10/10 from start to finish. I'll be back soon.

First time using the click and collect system & it really works. I ordered my food online so turned up a few mins early, waited in my car until my time slot & collected my food. It was piping hot when I got home and the haddock was lovely.

This is our local chippy and we love it, the best in Macc in our opinion. We love the fresh haddock it's always delish & the thick cut chips are always superb.

What a shame. I’ve moved in up the road so was hoping for good chips. Don’t let the look of this place fool you. Terrible tasting chips, sausage and pie. I wish this was an exaggeration but it isn’t. There are loads of decent chippies in Macc dont go to this one.

Ordered online , wish I hadn't of bothered. What's the point of ordering online when your order should be ready at 18.15 and you get it at 18.40? Been quicker just walk in off street. Appears it cooked to order when I walked in! Normally go every week , won't be anymore.Need sort your online orders out, 2 min away from asking for refund.

Shop looks very welcoming, but the food is not good. Fish and chips looked grey,and greasy. Very small portions (thank goodness, or I would never have got off the toilet)

On my way back from the office and in three minds about what to do for dinner. Chinese and Indian have been on the menu recently so fish and chips was the order of the day.Only me in and ordered fish, small chips, curry and peas. Fish freshly cooked and reasonable at £6 I thought.Food was very good, I especially enjoyed the chips and for a small portion, I couldn't have eaten any more.Again minor issues with the fish. Some of the batter was crusty and the fish was a little too firm and dry.On the whole, I really enjoyed the food and I'd have no hesitation in returning.

Fish and chips are excellent all the stakk are very friendly and always smiling. The haddock fish is very very tasty.

We’ve been to ‘The Chippy’ about 5 times over the past year, it’s recently celebrated it’s first year birthday. Every time the staff have been exceptionally cheerful and friendly, the fish is cooked to order and the chips are lovely and chunky. If you prefer crispy chips then this may not be the place for you, but we love them. They don’t serve cod, just haddock, which is delicious and the portion sizes are very generous. The mushy peas aren’t the highly processed bright green ones, but really tasty and look natural. The gravy is thick & rich. The service is quick & even when there’s a queue they ask your order straight away so it’s immediately cooking. There’s lots of good chippy’s in the area but in my opinion, this is by far the best with the happiest staff.

I was drawn in by the lovely smell, unfortunately that is where the good experience ended! There is nothing nicer than a chippy lunch on a Saturday but there was nothing nice about this lunch, the chips weren't cooked and the peas nearly broke my teeth they were that hard. The whole lot went in the bin. What a waste of money and food! I won't be visiting this chippy again

I had not set foot despite living in Broken Cross for 6 years. A friend was raving about "The Chippy" so we gave it a go. I have to say it is about the best haddock and chips I have had outside Yorkshire ! Freshly cooked to order. Highly recommended.

If a chippy can’t cook chips there’s a problem. We live close by but had not tried this establishment yet. (There are many chippys in a small area!! ) So when passing last night on the way back from a day out where we were going to eat beans on toast at home, we called in. Car park is good we thought: convenient. Husband goes in to get the food and comes out really quickly with a smile on his face. Well! he says: 3 sizes of fish, different sizes of chips and it’s eco friendly packaging!! This is important to us. So we returned home with a high expectation and happy faces.

After a 4 hour non stop journey back from Surrey (glad to see the back of the M25 for a while) I was more than ready for nourishment. I'd been thinking what to have for most of the journey, originally intending to stop for a burger or KFC.

The battered sausages are amazing, you have to try!! Shame it’s so nice as it’s too tempting on my doorstep!!!

High quality food, excellent service and a good menu. We used the on-line ordering too, which was great as we didn't have to stand in the queue. The portions are generous and all served in compostable/recyclable containers. We'll definately be back!! Top notch.

Ordered sausage, chips and gravy, was really delicious. You can tell that everything is fresh and really high quality food. Staff were incredibly welcoming and nice. Very well priced, would recommend to anyone wanting a top class chippy tea!

Been to a lot of chippys here over the years and believe me this is far the best yet. Great staff and the food is awesome. Keep up the good work and congratulations on you new venture.

Initially this place was good but for the past 3 times I’ve tried to order from here they have not had the items I wanted, pies and puddings. We are a family of 5 so would have been spending quite a bit. It’s not as if I am going late either, each time has been between 7 and 7:30. We have now given up and won’t be trying again.

Great fish n chips definitely well worth checking out! Best of all you don’t feel like you have eaten stodge afterwards! Good job well done guys

Tried for the first time last night. Really excellent fish and chips, crispy batter and big fat chips, friendly service and they use eco-containers. We will be back!

Been a few times as we live very local. Great food and great prices and great portions. Good to see a lot of recycled packaging. Recommended.

Called in yesterday for our first taste of this newly opened business. We had our fingers crossed that this new local chippy would be traditional and offer good food. It wasn't just good... it was fantastic!! Friendly service from the team, good value prices, large portions and the quality of the fish, the batter and the chips was more than we expected. Delicious and no bloating feeling afterwards. To top it off, just a small detail, but they use recycle-able / biodegradable packaging!! I feel irritated when I have to accept plastic or polystyrene packaging, so thank you! Hats off to you guys and good luck. Will definitely be back soon!
