Very disappointed with the chips tonight - undercooked. Vegetarians and Vegans beware - the chips are done in beef dripping and this isn’t mentioned anywhere. Needless to say they don’t taste like they had.

Went here for the first time in May 2022 and have to say we were really impressed. Perfect chips and the fish was outstanding, with a lovely crispy batter at the edges. And the portion sizes were extremely generous. This was the first of many trips I reckon.

It took half an hour to get 3 portions of chips and a portion of onion rings. When I got the chips 2 portions looked like they had been reheated from lunchtime and the batter on onion rings was really soggy, and tasted raw. A lady came in for her shift (she seemed very nice and a hard worker, as was a younger person around the back of the fryer, as for the guy who served me, he was really lazy who clearly had not done his jobs for shift change over as the lady was calling him ‘slacker’, she was not very pleased. The chips tasted as bad as they looked. Needless to say, I won’t be going back. £11.20 for inedible food. 😡😡😡

Stopped here to get lunch as I work out and about. There were only 2 other people in the place waiting on orders. The young guy serving seemed inexperienced as he got 2 out of 3 orders wrong and had to open my order again to add salt and vinegar. Then I discovered after I'd returned to my van, that he hadn't put the sauce in. So anyway I got it all sorted eventually and started to eat. The chicken goujons were nice and crispy but the chips had obviously been reheated as they were dry and tasteless. My son got battered sausages which were both shrivelled and seemed like they had been sitting overnight and reheated in a microwave as the batter was soggy. I could have forgiven the poor service if the food was nice but for a chip shop to serve this standard of food is a very poor reflection on them. Needless to say I will not be eating there again.

This is our go to if we're out shopping. Rather than the usual coffee shops at nearby Abbey Centre, we go to Applegreen, which is usually less packed and if we're lucky, Greggs might have some Jammie Heart biscuits left. Lavazza coffee shop, Greggs, Chop Stix, Subway and Burger King are on site, along with the well stocked forecourt shop were you can grab a takeaway tea or coffee.

This is a really good fish and chip shop. In my opinion it's the best one locally.
