Took a while for the coffee to come to takeout!

This was my very first time being at the Ballyearl branch and it was TOP NOTCH. I will definitely be making another visit soon. Thank you for the very friendly service.

Food is OK. But, service wasn't as great. Didn't respect customer. Told we could take any table, as about to sit down. The server didn't want us to have that table. Menu was limited. Didnt have what I wanted. What's worst customers eating or waiting for their food. Staff was brushing the floor and can see the dust flying round. Next to customer table. Wouldn't be visiting this place again.

Called in for tea and scone but they didn't have any of the ones that I would have liked. We asked for sausage rolls and got the tea quickly but had to ask about the sausage rolls. They had forgotten about so by the time we got them the tea was cold. Not happy with the service as it wasn't that busy. It was not worth the money.👎👎

Good food at a reasonable price. Staff v friendly and helpful. Able to grab a few treats, produced in the attached bakery, to take home with you on the way out.

My brother and myself visit here at least once a month for a catch-up and some breakfast. Food is always excellent and the staff are always friendly and efficient. The Asher breakfast fry is highly recommended as it is prepared in the oven as opposed to being fried which I would hope makes it a bit healthier lol!

Firstly this is a genuine review unlike a lot of others on here who have given bad reviews purely because they don't agree with Ashers stance on certain topics. I couldn't care less, only interested in the quality of the food. Bought a sour dough loaf at £2.95 and a pack of 6 German biscuits at £3.95. Money wasted on both products as neither were authentic or baked with good quality ingredients. The bread should not be called sour dough as lucky to get 5% sour dough in it with the other 95% being plain old white bread dough. Tasteless, dry and not fit for much really. The German biscuits were even more of a let down at £4 for 6 small round biscuits. Not an ounce of butter to be seen, just filled full of cheap palm oil and other questionable ingredients. Blob of rock hard icing on the top and sone sort of red gluey spread in the middle which was a sorry excuse for raspberry or strawberry jam. The biscuit part was quite vile, hard dry biscuit tasting like cardboard. This will be the last time you will get any money of me. Call yourself a bakery! It was a total abomination, an utter disgrace to call yourselves bakers. No wonder external outlets are stocking less of your dismal products. Would barely feed them to the dog, they were so bad. Seems money and greed which go hand in hand, is now more important to you that putting out quality items at a fair price. Shame on you!

I had a very good breakfast. I would describe it as tasty, clean and not at all greasy. Great poached eggs. Fast service too!

We waited so long at our table to be served, that we left without ordering. Staff seemed uninterested and occupied chatting at the counter.

Cheese and bacon soda vegetarian edition. Spot the bacon and win a prize. Basically its just a soda. Don't think ill take that gamble in future.

I come to Ashers often sometimes with a friend some times with one of my children. Last week I met a business associate. I had a really fine breakfast with great service. Always a treat.

I was in on Wednesday and the staff were lovely, we all had different breakfasts all swopped items and they were more than happy to do that. I have been several times lately and the food was lovely.

Delicious food, will go back when I visit Belfast again. The owners are decent people with correct and proper moral values, highly recommend.

Have to agree with the majority of reviews. It was awful. Give them the benefit of the doubt and returned after a previous poor visit. ( Fool me ) The bacon was poor quality and burnt. The scrambled were over cooked and the bread I have no words for. £16 wasted. And the service well below par.

Good coffee and baked goods but am afraid the cooked breakfast was substandard. Overdone poached eggs, awful bacon (cold and undercooked) and tomatoes which were barely heated. Also chocolate on my cappuccino without asking me. Stick to the baked goods and sausage rolls!

Today was our first time eating here as a family. Order was taken in good time, (we weren't rushed or a long wait). Each meal arrived promptly and all thoroughly enjoyed. Also, a big thank you to the staff in the baking area whom we watched with fascination at their skills as they decorated cakes and buns etc. Enjoyed meal so much we stayed for tea and buns. Would highly recommend.

So, Ashers is really close by, nice decor and my friend loves it. I suggested a visit for breakfast. We were seated promptly but then waited at least 20 mins for someone to ask our order. When another couple who were seated after us had their order taken first, I had to go up to one of the waiters at the counter to ask if we could get our order taken. Not good. Order was then taken (no apologies for keeping us waiting). We didn't have to wait too long for our food which was perfectly acceptable and filled a hungry hole! (Bacon was a bit tough if I'm being picky). Drinks were nowhere in sight and my friend had to go up to check this time. When drinks finally arrived, the mocha was delicious. My advice would be to invest more time in waiter service training. It makes such a difference to a dining experience.

If could give 0 I would. This place is horrendous. Waited absolutely ages for soup and a sausage roll for takeaway. Soup was dished up pretty quickly and set on the coubter and sausage roll was kept to the side for nearly 20 minutes. The place was quiet but there was only a couple of us in the takeaway queue and each one of us was kept waiting while staff stood about and talked among themselves. We tried to get attention but no1 was interested. We literally live 5 minutes away and was freezing and to be honest not great anyway. We are used to going to ashers at the top of Carnmoney and its amazing. The ladies are fantastic so quick but also have time for a chat, even when busy they still are so friendly. I have got everything from wee traumatised to birthday cakes made from them and always delicious so please don't judge all ashers the same. Doagh road avoid and instead drive a bit further to Carnmoney I wish I had waited till got to there instead of stopping on my way home

None of the staff are wearing masks. This is mandatory unless behind a screen, and staff are walking amongst customers serving food. This is causing increased risk to customers and staff. I do like this cafe, but won’t be attending until they take safety matters seriously.

Wouldn't visit again . Bad outdated attitudes and quite disappointing .shame about their outdated views on people .

The girls were lovely.The cafe was busy but we got our table and were served quickly even as they were short staffed. I had the stew which was really tasty and my husband had the ciabatta which he said was very nice.would visit again.

Ok, I said I was not going back, only reason I went is because a work colleague ask to meet them there.Again, looks like they are showing favouritism to regulars by ushering them to seats.I did speak up as 1 of the staff moved a group of 4 in front of others.They just walk in and where shown straight to their seats in front of me and another 3 people waiting.Staff member replied, "They where in before"..... Where did they go, All four of them went out and then came back in.. Utter rubbish. Finally got seated....Hate this place I told my colleague, but stayed put for her.Ordered Scone with Jam and Cream and the Coffee Special made with Coconut milk. Scone was fine, Coffee was not what was order, it was a normal coffee. Again staff not listening.Ok, to sum it up....This place is for regulars who are known and looked after. If you fall outside this it is rubbish and service is even worse and no one cares.I wish there was a body you can go to and registered your thoughts and views. Asher's would be at the bottom of the heap!

I went in for a coffee and a scone and ended up being asked if i follow Jesus. I said the fictional jesus from the fictional bible? I said No i don't follow fictional characters and told him he should prey on someone more vulnerable and i was asked to leave. I was more than happy to get out of there.

My husband and I had lunch today. We ordered the tuna nicoise salad... No tuna left, fair enough we changed to chicken strips.What came, for a main course lunch was three small pieces of chilli chicken, I could never describe them as strips as they were slightly bigger than nuggets. Three. Three pieces.... Sitting on some leaves with a sparse sprinkling of onion, slice of pepper and sun dried tomato. No dressing, however the waitress eventually brought us mayo and Marie Rose when asked, mind you it was just as well it was a salad as had it been hot the length of time it took it would have been stone cold. The coffee was good, my husband ordered a strawberry milkshake and got a smoothie. Staff were friendly and while I do love Ashers products and will continue to buy them, I was disappointed in my lunch. I don't have big appetite but was still hungry afterward. That said what we did eat was tasty, just more of a starter size rather than a lunch.

Popped in for lunch at their Ballyearl restaurant. While I appreciate we arrived when they were very busy a few basics were wrong. We waited for about 20 mins for our order to be taken. Our food arrived about 5 minutes before the drinks arrived also, but worst of all for one of the dishes we ordered the plate and the cutlery were both dirty (dried sauce stain from previous customer on plate). The food itself was decent although the scrambled eggs which came with the fry I ordered was very dry / overdone. I would return for takeaway, but I don't think I'd go back to their restaurant in a hurry.

Called in for lunch , Greeted by happy smiling male assistant , but this went down when another assistant came to take the order minus the greeting. . This arrived a considerable time later, probably due to most of the staff sorting carry out food except for one member who working hard . Food was not to the usual standard.A smile and greeting goes along way to keeping custom.

Called in for a bacon bap and a cup of tea. No prices on display. Charged £4.80...i nearly passed out. Thought this was steep considering the same in greggs is £2.20 and is just as good if not better. Bap was grand but will avoid due to prices

So I read the reviews, mostly good.... Thought I'd give it a goOrdered the gf breakfast. Bacon, scrambled egg and toast or hash brown. I opted for the hash brown I was served fairly quickly and the plate looked well when it arrived. 3 hash brown, 3 good pieces of thick cut bacon and a fair portion of scrambled eggThe egg was microwaved. The trouble with microwaving egg is you can't tell how over cooked it is until you try and eat it. It was like rubber! I'm not sure what they did to the bacon. It was sticky, hard and tasted unpleasantI ate 2 of the 3 hash browns. They were fineWhen the waitress collected my plate of almost untouched food, she asked if it was OK. I said no and explained.No apology, no offer of replacement food, nothingThey then had the cheek to charge me for a plate of inedible food... Won't be back and absolutely do not recommend!

Went there with my family for an end-of-school treat. The staff were friendly and the food delicious, the 'Smokey Burger' I ordered came quickly. The sauce, onions, and the salad on the side were all great! 100% worth it. It also came at a good price, despite the fact that seven of us were eating there.

As in my previous review I mentioned I may give this place another go.I visited for breakfast on the 1st June 2019.Strangely I was ask to take a seat and someone would take an order. My last visit they told they did not take orders at the tables, although that was a downright lie as people where ordering from the table on that visit. Surely even the staff could see that!Anyhow, we can put that in the past as someone who had no clue about the business they worked in.I ordered a breakfast bap and a soft drink. Order was received in reasonable time, quicker that a scone I ordered from the last time.Unfortunately the quality of the food was not great at all. I think they microwave a lot of stuff. Not the best idea in a restaurant. Now, I normally love scrambled eggs and I can make the best, but these where more like a pair of rubber boots. Over cooked in the microwave and not suitable to feed to a dog!. Bap was not great, I would expect much more from a bakery. Bacon was just OK.Overall, I have seen no improvement from my last visit only that the member of staff actually knew customers could order at their table.I pass this place a lot and it always seems busy and that leads to me to wondering why Ashers do not respond to so may poor reviews. Maybe they do not need to worry about those who do not leave glowing reviews as there are plenty of regulars who are happy with the service and food. Me, I vote with my feet and the management here need to start taking a long hard look at peoples comments and acting on them to improve their service and quality of product going to the customer.I worked in the public sector for a long time and still work in a role dealing with customers and I certainly would not expect to provide such a poor service to my clients.

Had a breakfast bap. A local bakery with no soda or potatoe bread? If your going to be pretentious at least do it with quality food!!! Scrambled eggs like rubber(microwaved) bacon almost impossible to cut, over cooked/reheated (microwaved) brioche bap soggy due to scrambled egg. Worst breakfast ive had in a long time all at a premium price. Do yourself a favour and drive on by.

A friend and I ( my first visit ) called in here for morning coffee. I was immediately impressed by the pleasant atmosphere inside - and the ability to pick up a menu and proceed to a table of our choice. Having been given a few minutes to select items from the extensive menu, we were approached by a pretty, smiling, waitress who took our order. We both selected a filled bagel with tea, in my friend's case, an cappuccino in mine. These were very quickly served - and were both filling and delicious.Really enjoyed our time there. The sight of white coated workers beavering away being a patterned glass screen was nn added " bonus ". Will certainly plant to return !

Even though it's slightly out of the way this place always looks busy. It's well worth going to as the scones, cakes are all very nice. It has the feel of a slightly old fashioned bakery, which is meant as a complement. Slight criticisms are that the pots of tea could be bigger and that there could sometimes be a wider range of food on offer, but overall it is definitely worth a visit.

I hadn't been here for some time, but now that I have tasted the rest I feel I'm back at the best!

In any of the Asher's stores they have never been any good at training staff to effectively serve customers. We Went to Asher's Ballyearl today and as usual there was one person taking the short orders at the till, creating a queue. As we walked across the car park I noticed a lady approaching, who was a little behind us, so as I entered I held the door for the lady and took my place in the queue with my colleague. I noticed that this lady was edging her way into the front of the queue, and I commented to my colleague that the queue was not orderly and that you couldn't tell whom had been served and whom had not, but that I think someone is trying to push in front of us. The short order clerk looked at me and obviously heard me, but then turned to the lady and served her anyway. We left the shop, as the staff member permitted someone to exhibit such outrageous, blatant and downright ill-bred behaviour. I am so insulted that I no longer wish to proffer any further custom. I suggest that you put another short order clerk on the till and train your staff how to control a queue, afterall, it is very easy level customer service.

I pass Ashers Baking Co at least 6 times week and it is only a few minutes drive from my house.

Called to ashers restraunt at ballyearl for the first time for lunch . As we hadn't been befor we didn't know there was a menu and we thought we had to order from the counter at the shop and order from what we seen at the counter . No one came hand us a menu or show us to a table . I ended up with a pastry and a cup of tea for my lunch not knowing there was menus to be had , think as far as I remember my husband had a sausage roll , and so we left disappointed . But we decided today to give it another try . We went in lifted two menus (again no one to greet you with a menu or show you to a table ) . Every table that was free was littered with dirty dishes no one was clearing them away and so we cleared a table for ourselves and sat down . The girl who was alone at the table beside us got up from her seat and stamped down to the counter and I noticed she was complaining about something , so she returned to her table and told us that she had been sitting waiting for 15 minutes and no one had come near her to take her order so she advised us to go and place our order ourselves as no one would come to take it. At that stage we decided to leave and go elsewhere to eat . Either they were short staffed or else they were to busy to even notice that we had came in and left again . I think there needs to be some changes made concerning the matters I have mentioned . Don't think I will ever be back . Hate to complain but think maby if these complaints are taken seriously by the owners then it will benefit them in every way

I have just been for breakfast. Ordered sour dough and poached eggs, pancake and sausage for my 4 year old son. Table 9. Tea and water arrived 5 mins later. No food had arrived within 15mins. Other tables were getting their orders. I asked the server walking past is our food coming, his reply 'should be'. Can you check please? He did not return. It is now over 20 mins. The couple beside me got served at which we then made the server aware that we were not happy and were leaving. My son was upset at not getting what I had promised. Poor performance from Ashers. I await your reply.

Horrible place and horrible staff. I think there was a pubic hair in my lunch and the waitress looked repressed and miserable.

What a fantastic wee place, couldn’t fault it at all!

Had lunch with my wife and daughter. We placed our order and our food arrived, the drinks had not. So I asked the server for our drinks, he came back with my wife’s and mine but forgot about my daughters - he walked off quickly. I walked up and lifted my daughters drink myself.

My family and I visited here for lunch. The service was friendly and quick and we where served by the manager who was busy organising the staff all while he made the coffee. Our drinks came just before the food and I have to say they where really good. I had a Mocha which was delicious. My two boys had milkshakes which where made with Mauds ice cream and tasted great! My wife had a water, but they don’t do ice?

Took my daughter here for a treat after school. Sausage rolls and chips. Tasted great and piping hot-But very dear 2 rolls and chips £5.50!!! Sausage rolls £1.50 sit in, £1 take away or 4 for £2.15 (cold)!! No price list evident

I like taking my children to Ashers. They love the pancakes and I like the distraction of the active bakery going on in the glass right behind where we are eating, you don't get that too often. Ashers is primarily a bakery supplying across Northern Ireland, and that shows in the quality of the baked goods. The pancakes, bread etc are all excellent and of course fresh. Staff seemed a little timid when we were there, nice but just not too confident. I asked for an Asher's breakfast which comes with toast or has browns, My friend had just ordered his with toast and I think the waiter assumed I wanted toast as well, but I wanted hash browns, and he didn't ask. I didn't raise this as an issue, I expect they would have brought me hash browns straight away if I had. Sausages, bacon, beans, scrambled eggs all good. Strangely, the plate was way too small, I don't know why such a pile of food would be served on a plate marginally bigger than a side plate. Toast was lovely. Tea was tea. One other thing that annoyed me a bit was my son ordered pancakes and then asked me if he could have bacon with his pancakes. I said yes and when the bill arrived I noticed that the bacon was an extra 2 pounds. Not horrific in itself but the pancakes were only 3.25, so 2.00 on top of that for a few strips of bacon seemed a bit much in comparison.

Called into Asher’s Restaurant at Mosley Newtownabbey expecting a fantastic lunch like its sister restaurant The Bothy Whitepark Bay. The service was average to say the least but the food was horrible!

From the moment we got in. We were treated great. Staff very friendly & helpful. Had an ashers breakfast with strawberry milkshake. Tasted amazingly.

Despite having a comprehensive menu when they are busy they will not serve poached. Boiled or fried eggs. Only scrambled eggs on offer. Took a long time to get served. Sadly a disappointing experience.

Love this bakery always order birthday cakes etc and they are delicious. Hot food available and home made buns ect

Really can't fault the place. A lot of the reviews for here are based on their religious opinions and whilst I completely disagree with them, it won't stop me from buying the their food which is damn good. Try the bacon and cream cheese bagel...

La visita de un concurrido sábado por la mañana. Nos dijeron que tome asiento y nadie vino cerca de nosotros por 15 minutos. Mi mujer pidió tostadas con beicon y huevos escalfados. Llegó con huevos revueltos. La camarera nos dijo que no había huevos escalfados después de mediodía, aunque habíamos pedido antes. Luego de nuestra molestia la gente junto a nosotros conseguimos huevos escalfados. La comida era generalmente buena, aunque bacon era frío. No podía ser molestada quejándose de tocino, ya que implicaría otra larga espera. El mayor inconveniente de este lugar es el mal servicio y una completa falta de la gerencia del servicio. Las camareras son mujeres jóvenes y parece desbordado. No volvería a este lugar y Sozo y cuyo ejemplo en Whiteabbey ampliamente superior y son de precio similar.

Paramos para tomar un café, no nos podíamos permitir el tiempo para comer. . El café no era genial, pero hay una panadería. Era tan celoso no podía comer algunas de las deliciosas ofrendas! ! !

We went to Ashers for breakfast last week. The food was very tasty and the staff really friendly. I enjoyed watching the staff baking bread, buns, cakes etc. We'll definitely be back.

Visited today with husband for a quick lunch. Wasnt too busy and got a table right away. Took a while to have order taken and waitress clearly didnt want to be there, just said what do you want? Food wasnt bad but ive had nicer at ashers, shame as ive always enjoyed food here. Maybe will give benefit of doubt on this occasion.

I stopped by here earlier to grab a coffee and just had to have a piping hot sausage roll. It went down very well and was very tasty-price was good and I was tempted by all the delicious looking and smelling bakes!!

Called today for take out sandwich after bad experience in nearby coffee shop. Service great and value amazing for a sub. Highly recommend whit sub turkey, ham, cranberry, mayo.

I like this cafe for stop off for breakfast, good selection of food and great spot to catch up on emails using the free wifi before hitting the early morning traffic.

This is a great spot for a coffee, lunch or breakfast. Car parking at the door plus friendly helpful staff. It's good value for money with something on the menu for all plus amazing buns! Wifi could be faster.

Lovely home made hot food counter especially the Stew , just like your own with out the mess of cookingAll the breads and cakes are tasty too.

We've often passed this restaurant and looked forward to trying it so called in a couple of days ago with 3 kids (range of ages). Our initial 'welcome' was frosty to say the least - verging on unpleasant but we sat down and the young girl serving us was lovely. We ordered a couple of wraps, a kids hot dog and then had problems finding something for a vegetarian 9 year old but luckily soup of the day was vegetable so that was lucky. Food was ok - nothing more, but while we were waiting the woman from the counter spent her whole time chasing a small girl up and down the restaurant shouting at her. She appeared to be with her but it was very unprofessional and uncomfortable listening to her shout. My daughter was supposed to get a cupcake with her kids meal but it never came. When we went to pay I asked if we could have the cupcake to go - a grumpy yes, but as she rang up the bill I noticed something on the till that said 'Snow ba' and I turned to ask my son what it was but too late - she'd asked for the money so I thought I'll just check the receipt. No receipt was offered or given but when we got to the car we realised I'd been overcharged - £22 for 2 wraps, a pot of tea for 2, 1 kids hot dog and a bowl of vegetable soup with a glass of tap water was definitely over the top. I didn't go back as I was in a hurry and I knew I'd get a stroppy response. Would I go back? Definitely not. The quality of the food was just ok - soggy wraps with a bit of lettuce - definitely not enough to put up with the poor service which lets the whole place down.

Having eat here before when it was normal, it was a surprise fully updated menue, cafe, and food was very good service friendly and cost was OK

I've been buying Asher's products for a long time and I have been in Asher's Bakery/ Bistro @ Carnmoney Road, the staff are very friendly and helpful.The attractive menu is just mouth watering.They serve lovely breakfast's to tempted lunchs / Dinners. The prices are quite affordable & it's clean too. I would recommend you pay a visit even if you only want a cup of tea or coffee.The attached Bakery have plenty of hot & cold products which are delicious and you can sit in or take away your food. I would go back in a heartbeat I'm actually getting hungry writing this review, I might go for brunch this lunchtime.

I have eaten here on numerious occasions and I love lots about it, ie the food and decor however I have had several occasions where the staff have been less than pleasant. I really like to see local bakeries and businesses doing well which is why I think it's important the management know there is room for improvement surrounding staff, if it was my business I would want to know. On several visits I have been made to feel like everything I ask for is a chore and there is no sparkle, charm or get up and go with staff. I have almost felt like a burden and on my last visit I almost left as my order seemed like such an inconvenience.Don't get me wrong there are some very pleasant members of staff but I feel like management need to address the other kind as pleasantries really do make a difference when in the service industry.
