I have visited 3-4 times now. Each time I am horrified at the price for takeaway (The same as sitting in). My last visit, £8.95 for what looked like a kids meal - 3 pieces of chicken & 15 dried out chips, placed into a white cardboard box, how this would look served on a plate for the customer sitting in, I don't know. I most definitely will not return now, I have given it the benefit of the doubt one too many times, sorry.

As a regular customer in Yarns at The Mill, why, why, why do they continue to serve hot food on freezing cold plates? Even a fry straight from the Kitchen is served on cold plates. An otherwise excellent meal is cold before you start to eat it.

The food here was just fine, totally what you’d expect. Unfortunately our lunch was marred by an exceptionally rude female employee. It seemed like she was going out of her way to be difficult, abrupt and unhelpful. Perhaps she was having an off day, we all do, but her attitude has definitely put us off returning. In hindsight we should have asked to speak to her manager. The one star for service is for an older female employee we had a short exchange with who seemed much more polite.

This was our first visit here and it certainly won't be the last, the building itself is spacious and beautiful! The staff were welcoming and very friendly and it is a nice relaxing space to eat breakfast/lunch and to admire the stunning views across the lake! There is some awesome spots to walk around the lake too however due to the rain showers we decided not to walk around the lake but we will return to enjoy the scenery. The food is homemade and delicious, I recommend trying the homemade mash, it's creamy and tastes amazing! Thank you all for a delicious lunch and we will be back! :)

My husband and I go to Yarns regularly for lunch I love it . I love the varied menu meaning there’s always something different available the portion size is very generous and everything that we have eaten and I mean everything has been fantastic. Lovely home made soup and a freshly made (in front of you)sandwich, baked potatoes are enormous with loads of lovely salad options and their lasagna was to die for. The staff are lovely especially the guy making coffee (sorry didn’t get name ) and would have no hesitation in recommending Yarns to anyone

Went for the pre theatre meal tonight 22/12/12. A group of seven of us. Dining area was pretty cool. We had pre ordered our meal, four of us having vegetable broth. The soup all had to be returned as it was cold. Main course and dessert were both quite good. Ordered coffee of which three were only luke warm and I returned mine and asked for it to be taken off the bill as it was cold. The waitress came back and said all coffees were removed from bill.We requested the bill and on checking we found we were overcharged x 3 small bottles of wine and a pint is Guinness. None of the empties had been taken off the table so we could verify this. All and all note a great night out

Hard to imagine how they've done it, but a privately run enterprise has managed to outdo the famously efficient NI public sector with a shambles of a setup that is almost admirable, and right in the public sectors own backyard.Bang average re-heated food, shocking service, a shambolic inefficient system with staff milling around appearing to do not very much with very little coordination. Portions appear to have increased due to competition from a corner shop across the way, which quite honestly is on a par with some of the crap this place produces. Anything more than 5 people in the queue and the place goes to ruin.Don't waste your time or money, not worthwhile for anything much more than a coffee and scone.

Fuimos para el almuerzo de hoy ¡Qué decepción! Nos decidimos por crujiente pollo salsa de chili y patatas fritas goujonsin. Totalmente asqueroso. Nunca he tenido una comida peor.

A friend and I called in here for a quick snack. Although it was normal lunch-time, there were few customers. A good array of salads and sandwiches was displayed at the counter. Noticing, from a Menu card, that hot food was also available, we ordered sweet and sour pork. A staff member advises us that this would be cooked, and that this would take a short time. He pointed us to a seat with a pleasant view, and brought us the glasses of water we'd ordered. After taking in the surroundings, and watching people come, and quickly go, with sandwiches, etc. we started to wonder how long it would take our meal to appear. Eventually, our patience exhausted, we asked. And were told that our order had not been passed to the Kitchen. Rather than leave at that time, we ordered alternative meals which, we were assured, would not take long. They were, indeed, served within ten minutes. Neither were particularly exciting : for some reason, my strips of meat on a slice of bread had been doused in salad dressing. All in all, it is rather unlikely that we will be returning.

Four of us decided to have a pre-theatre treat at Yarns. We were not to know when we booked just how big a treat it would be.. Despite its proximity to where we live it was the first time any of us had been there and as soon as we entered and were greeted warmly we realised what we had been missing. This was true bistro dining . . interesting food, freshly cooked to order and served in a pleasant and efficient manner. My three companions opted for the minute steaks and I had the pork belly, all got a massive thumbs up. Unfortunately, as we were pushed for time, we had to miss out on dessert, but we will have what will undoubtedly be another treat another time. We finished with beautiful lattes and were in just the right mood to enjoy the concert. It was a shame that there were so few diners availing of this great asset to this complex.

The quality of the food was superb and we enjoyed 2 courses + wine and lattes.. £41.00 Great value. The ambience of the restaurant is very nice with plenty of light and modern looking. The staff were friendly and efficient, although maybe just a bit too quick bringing next course. Coffee arrived with our desert, instead of after, which would have been my choice. Since it was coming up to Christmas our `Rambling Club` had pre booked our choice of meal. After the walk I was ready for my starter which was broth and after a walk in the rain I was glad to be eating something that was lovely and hot. The steak and Guinness pie was just cooked to perfection, I can still taste it, it was lovely. I liked the atmosphere there. It is a very light, airy cafeteria, lots of light coming in. The view is lovely, there is a pond outside. I like the wee museum and art gallery downstairs. There is a I have been before as well, and wanted to come back.Yarns Bistro is inside the Mossley Mill complex. Outside there is a garden where you can walk around a square lined with sculptures and trees. It is very calming, to walk around the lawn. There are benches to sit on. Outside is a big water park and the great brick chimney from the industrial past of the site. They have done so well in preserving the old mill while adding fire escape stairs and other additions that don't spoil the beautiful character of the place. There are big car parks out the back, and a river forest trail we didn't have time to walk along - we must go back!
