The Chip Inn in Coleraine

This is my first time getting a fish supper since the since October when I got two fishbones lodged in my oesophagus and ended up in Resus in A&E... They gave me a twenty pound voucher lol So the food arrived in plenty of time and the driver as always was lovely. That's where the lovely stopped.... The portion of fish soggy and the batter was separating from the fish, the fish itself was okay, but it died in vain! The chips were grey and greasy and were cooked at least twice and then left to sit.... Disgusting, that's me done with it 🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢

Called in here last night,only my second visit ever but I had a really nice fish supper znd battered sausages last time and decided to go for the same again. Great food really tasty again. Very reasonable price wise too. Oh yeah I'll be back.

Have been eating out of the Chip Inn for a long time now. It's one of the few places that deliver a bit further out from Coleraine. Food has always been top notch. Would usually have a burger but fancied myself a change earlier tonight and got the Chicken Goujons and Garlic Mushrooms instead. Never disappointed with portion sizes, variety, quality, price and delivery times.

Got food the night . Chips beans and cheese. Sausage supper . Gojouns to. Half food was ok chips awfull last past while. Something yous should look into for better chips. Chicken gojouns swimming in oil . Big let down waste of 20 quid of food

Overcooked dry burgers full of hard fatty bits, cost 14quid and can't eat a bite.

We stayed in Castle Rock late February 2023. We were looking for a place to order food and found The Chip Inn on the map and gave it a try. What a wonderful find. We ordered food from them at least 3 of the 4 nights we stayed at our Air BnB. The fish n chips are amazing. Some of us got chicken n chips and they said they were delicious too. I tried one of their pasties and I loved it. I had it with chips and gravy over everything. The staff answered all my questions and were very nice and friendly. It’s just take out, but that’s ok. If you’re staying in the area and have a place to eat it, stop in and get some food.

Fish cooked to within an inch of its life. Large curry chip had a total of 20 chips most of which were burnt leftovers. Not what it was like when previous owner had it. Dont waste your money.🤮

I asked if they would fry my mars bar, they snatched it from my hands, ate it infront of me then poured oil all over me, ran out and locked me in all night and left me just slipping about the place.

Brilliant wee place. The quality of the fish and chips is always consistently good. For me it's the first and only place I ever go. For those of you who haven't tried here , you don't know what your missing !

Waiting 50 mins on a delivery.. when I rang up to see where it was I was told it was being bagged up.. nearly 2 hrs later still no food 🤯

Batter Goujons greasy hardly any chicken in them and the tiny tub of sauce...... and a completely dry chicken wrap no salad no sauce for 16 quid never again that place used to be lovely most of it went in the bin...sorry.

Lunch time fish suppers were not up to usual great standard. Thinnest fish I've ever had. I was there within half an hour of opening on Friday 31st December past.

I just phoned in an order of a large chip and gravy, a chicken box and a chicken fillet burger. I couldn't believe it when I opened the chip and gravy, the tin was barely half full, the chicken box had barely any chicken and the peppers and onions were completely burnt black, Ive ordered this exact order last week a day it was good, don't know what happened tonight it was bad, really disappointed 😕

Ordered cod goujons. 5% cod 95% batter! Apon complaining was told there's only a slither of cod in the goujons! If there's only a slither of cod they should be priced accordingly. Foods really greasy too, obviously isn't drained properly! Overpriced and poor quantity! Used to be lovely in here too.

When we decide we would like to have a takeaway from a chippie we go nowhere else but The Chip Inn Coleraine. The food is of excellent quality and grease free, everything is cooked to perfection no matter wat you get. Beautiful dry and crispy chips, homemade pasties, fish and chicken coujons and friendly staff make this chip shop in our eyes without doubt the best within the Coleraine area. 3rd time ordering from this chipshop and the 3rd time they have drowned my food in salt & vinegar when i have specifically made a point of saying i did not want any.

The fish was freshly cooked, moist and flaky in a crisp golden batter and the chips were deliciously crunchy. All three fish suppers ordered were well prepared and courteously presented. The Chip Inn was recommended to me and I am pleased to pass on the recommendation ,having eaten the best fish supper I’ve had all year! And my wife agrees.

Was overcharged 75 pence. When quiered was told prices on large wall menu were old and items were now more expensive.

was disappointed with food this was my second visit as the first time food was terrible but thought it was a one off but unfortunately food was even worse chips were disgusting in colour and flavour fish was greasy and was not cod and chips were not fresh wont be back waste of money for day old chips

Came to this chip shop to get evening meal . Ordered 2 fish suppers , cheese burger, chips and curry chip. The member of staff repeated my order correctly. Three members of staff walking backwards and forwards checking the orders. Waited approx 20 minutes only to have the curry chip miraculously change to a chip and cheese!!! To be fair staff member did offer to change but given the waiting time already I declined. I only live 2 mins away and when I opened the food it was cold. The cheese burger was a droopy mess with an almost invisible cheese slice welded onto the burger. Most of it went into the bin. Will never give this place my business again. Definately not worth the money.

Went in yesterday for a few burgers, well absolutely awful...First of all the baps where not toasted, burgers were overcooked, asked for fried onions, got a heap of raw onion..salad burger through together, no care in the world, enough lettuce for three burgers, chips also cold, staff haven't the sense in throwing them back in the fat, to heat up..If the girls spent more time concentrating on what there where cooking rather than chatting about Love Island, then maybe these would improve..other food seem to be going out ok, but more care needed on the burgers otherwise the place will go to the dogs as before..

We called in to get a couple of large chips. We waited for 15-20 minutes which you don't mind waiting when there are people before you, but then when someone who has ordered after you gets there order first it's bad service. She ordered a large chip and the girls filled her bag more than ours. So did she get a large chip or did we. Then the girl dumped our food on the the counter and we had to ask if it was ours as she never spoke to us. She never even looked at us, have a nice day or enjoy your food would of been nice. They need to train there staff.

One portion of chips missing, who ever wrapped the onion rings pressed down on them which meant they were just smashed to bits with the grease running out of them. The veggie burger had a weird flavour, curry possibly, asked for grated cheese (and paid extra) but it was as though the food had been sitting under a heat lamp for a while so it was like heated cheese strings, just gross. I'm sorry but if I'd wanted mediocre food I'd have cooked myself! Seriously disappointed.

Was told order would be delivered in an hour and 5 minutes. I had to ring after an hour and a half to see where order was. Was told it was on its way. 10 minutes later it arrived. I never got an apology for it being late. Bad service.

To be delivered at 18.05 and then when I went on to check it said delivered and it hasn't even arrived... took a further half an hour! Food was great but delivery not so much

Food has been very consistent no hit or misses. Nothing better than opening a delivery and every chip is cooked to perfection. 👌

Asked for extra cheese on my burger wasn't given but other than that it was ok

Nugget box stated online it came with a can but when I got to the takeaway they said this wasn't right. Burger was dry and there was no onions or relish just plain. The nuggets were cremated very disappointed.

Waited over an hour for food. When it arrived chips were cold, soggy, undercooked and stuck to the paper bag. A note had been left for the chips to be crispy but it must not have been seen. Called about 10 mins later, after trying to eat them, which we couldn't, to be told to call back tomorrow when the boss is in...Not too happy as I get from here regularly and it's always perfect.

As always our food was delicious, best chips in town, great value and prompt delivery. I especially love the fish and chicken goujons

Quick lunch bite.. COD only, but a good fist full of chips in the bag which makes a difference. Ok, so not as crispy as it might have been, but is it because it's service in a poly tray? Stick to newspaper please!

Have visited twice first time very nice fish and chips second visit reverse.Staff seemed preoccupied with delivery orders? Fish small and overcooked with a few, very few chips. Think I will drive on next time.

My order was sitting when I arrived at exactly time I indicated. The worker said 'at last'. I told them I'd said 7.30 on the JustEat order. Then she asked someone to check and another worker said 'yeah it was', but apparently it was covered in grease on the docket. The docket was taken off before my cold order was given to me so I did not have a chance to verify this.

Food was good but I ordered a can of coke and did not receive it and was asked to pay an extra pound for the delivery when it arrived so was a little annoyed

The app is misleading. When u go into burgers it says that all meals Come with chips and a drink. We assumed we were getting a meal and only the burger arrived. We ordered a quarter pounder with cheese regular burger but it didn't come with cheese? We then noticed u had to pay extra for cheese. The just eat app menu needs seriously reviewed as it is very misleading. The delivery man was very nice and was understanding. Rang the chipinn and got the impression that they didn't care and they passed the buck
