Called in here yesterday as i had family over from Cardiff and whilst shopping we fancied a coffee and a snack. We ordered three lattes, two slices of lemon drizzle cake and a scone, the coffees were extremely bitter and the lemon drizzle cake was stale and easily a couple of days out of date, judging by the taste, the scone was dry and had the consistency of sawdust and totally inedible, for this experience i was charged £17 and some odds. I hope that someone involved with this cafe reads these reviews and acts on them as improvements are certainly needed.

Good food especially scones and good value Fry. Staff helpful and friendly. Only downside tables and need a good scrub.

Very poor bland food. With your eyes closed you would not know you were eating a curry. The sautéed potatoes are pre cooked and then microwaved to reheat. Stew was again without flavour and the potatoes under cooked. On plus side it was cheap

Great place to relax and have some coffee and scones while the Mrs walks around the ladies fashion floor one flight below. Get there before 11.00am for the morning special. Even the filter coffee was warm and the scones big enough to share (although only 'aerosol' cream available). Good value and if the Mrs doesn't come back there are good lunch options also.

Had lunch with a friend. Hot food ( braised steak ) was good but service slow and not carried out in a professional way. Two staff members hugged behind counter as our food was being served. They were not wearing masks. Surely in these Covid times this is not acceptable. Not sure I will return to be honest.

Nic eto be able to return to Gallery. Usual happy staff , good service anf the scones are just as good. The addition of the fry is a great idea, but deep fried soda not as tasty. Only criticism is absence of table wiping and general tidyness. Some tables had not bben cleaned from previous days custom, which is a bit dodgy. Will return however as staff and food worth it.

We went to The Gallery Restaurant for lunch for two yesterday. We frequent this restaurant right through the Holiday Home season and it is usually practically full with a long queue. Today there were only four tables with diners and three of them were regulars. Coronavirus definitely hitting hard. We definitely were able to practice Social Distancing, at least 5 metres between the diners who were eating. Food was of good quality as usual, not often you would have much reason to complain in Moores. Usual drinks self fill dispenser gone, probably as a safety measure because of Coronavirus but water available. Will definitely be back after tight regulations for the virus are relaxed.

Very let down after eating in some great pubs and restaurants recently in the area this has by far been the worst meal I’ve ever had, stew was tasteless and portions were embarrassingly small. WILL NOT be back.

Nothing exciting or interesting about this quite small eaterie set in a relatively small department store. Prices a bit on the high side for what is on offer quality wide and size wise. Not tempted for a return visit.

Eat here for lunch for first time in a while and was very disappointed with the food I received. Ordered chicken goujons and garlic fries which consisted of 3 minuscule dry goujons and a handful of garlic fries. The meal was then heated in a microwave much to my dismay and wasn't even warm. The portion was that small I had to order a sausage roll as well. The pastry round the sausage roll was rock hard and inedible. My friends Irish Stew was absolutely tasteless! This place is a far cry from a restaurant! more of a glorified cafeteria! The pictures advertised are not anything like the food that is served. All in all a very expensive and tasteless meal and I shall not be returning to this so called 'restaurant'.

Today we decided to treat ourselves to lunch in this restaurant I was totally shocked at the quality and quantity of the food. Portion sizes do not measure up to the prices that are charged. On leaving the restaurant I surveyed other tables with plates of food left not finished. This speaks volumes for the quality of the food served. Very disappointing and will not be returning in a hurry!!

I've been coming here for years when I've been in the area and it has never failed to live up to expectation. Moores is a restaurant within a 'large store' where you have to queue up to get your meal, but always seem to have many people wiling to do so. You first have to pass the cakes - which means your diet may go out of the door! It sells really tasteful vegetable soup with wheaten bread which 2 of our group had and were very pleased with - but you can also get Irish stew, shepherd's pie, and other tastey comfort food. The teas and coffees are reasonably priced and good quality. You sometimes have to search for a table, so if there is more than one of you - one should snaffle a table whilst the other orders!! Enjoy good food, in comfortable setting which won't cost the earth!

Sometimes it's just nice taking a break from the Brioche Buns, raw Broccoli and Quinoa salads, and drip fed Macchiato's. Sometimes it's just nice to chose between Braised Steak, Shepherds Pie or Lasagne. What drink with it? Tea of course. Long Live Moores

ordered two lunches for us, one was ok, the other was salad, there was mouldy cheese among it, took it back to the counter, no apology, nothing was said, gave us back "another" plate and guess what, more mouldy cheese. Used to love going to Moore's for food, but there is now too much competition in Coleraine to entice me back

I recently visited this cafe/restaurant again, as I have been doing, off and on for quite a number of years. But this time it was not the enjoyable experience that I was always used to having, and here's why. I don't go shopping in coleraine much, but when I do I always liked to go to the cafe on the top floor of moores for one simple reason...the sausage rolls were always fantastic. A good solid pork and onion filling that I just couldn't get anywhere else. They cost the earth, but what price a quality sausage roll and I always had two!So, last week I had cause to be "up Main Street" in coleraine and I thought...hmm, moores! Sausage rolls! Up I went, ordered my usual two with tea for one and headed to a table to get stuck into them. I knew from the word go that something was wrong when I sliced into one. My knife went through it like it was hot butter I was cutting. My chin nearly hit the floor with shock when I then noticed that the filling was "just a mush" and not the solid mass I was so looking forward to.Into my mouth it went...and believe me when I tell you that you didn't require teeth to chew it...it was horrible, all squelchy and no firmness to it whatsoever, and as for taste? Forget that! It tasted like a sausage roll from a shady petrol station that you could get two for a £1.I did struggle through the first one and started the second one....but had to give up after the first bite....I was turned!Seems like moores has decided that "profit over quality" has become more important to them now.If anyone of any importance ever reads the reviews on here, please.....change your recipe for your sausage rolls back to the original great tasting ones that brought me back time after time. I will return sometime during the Christmas holiday period to give them another try....just incase it was a "one off" recipe disaster.....but if I find that it wasn't.....then sorry...bye bye moores restaurant and hello to one of the million other cafe restaurants in coleraine.

Had a meal here last week and the food was tasty but really needs another 10 seconds in the microwave as by the time you get to pay and to your table sometimes the food is only Luke warm, other than that it's fine

The Gallery is a light and airy restaurant/cafe in Moore's of Coleraine which has been there for many years. Good selection of lunchtime meals on offer along with soups, salads etc. Staff is friendly and efficient. Unfortunately, this is where the good stuff ends. When you get to the till to pay for your meal which is being microwaved as you wait you have to ask for a glass of tap water and wait again while the poor girl on till runs to kitchen for water. When I asked why they didn't provide a jug of water she said, "health and safety." Same applies when I asked if there was any dressing available for my salad, off she ran to the kitchen and returned with a tiny serving of dressing. Even with these irritating delays, we were still looking forward to our lunch which did look nice. Again, big disappointment. I honestly don't know how they managed to make salads so tasteless and if I hadn't had the little bit of dressing (available only upon special request from kitchen) it would have been inedible. The overcooked veg were worse than any school dinner and the chips/fries were like reheats from day before.Couldn't believe that such a long standing store as Moore's of Coleraine could have such a poor restaurant and decided to give it another chance one month later. Sadly, same old same old only with a noticable drop in queue size.

Food is reheated in a microwave, but where is the harm in that, I do think it could do with 45 seconds rather than 30 as it does tend to be on the warm side rather than hot by the time you get to eat staff do fine on service as it is always very crowded but we do keep going back as the food is tasty.I would recommend The Gallery but just request a 45 second reheat and your meal should be fine

Then you'll love here. Nothing really good about our lunch today. Only serve (self) large clunky glasses of coke etc that was flat. stew is anaemic with very little gravy, taste or meat. Lasagne looks great in tray that is until they microwave your plate full. Chicken pie was very dry and stodgy. Mixed salad bar is okay. Staff are slow and don't seem to serve people in order of the queue. Very disappointed.
