China House...more like Vinegar House, whatever sauce you have seems like a very vinegary sweet and sour sauce. Worst kung-fu po ever...vinegar all the way through. Driver thought I was going to to tip him after making me wait hour and a half for this tasteless, sour cack..I didn't. Never, ever again. Lesson learned!

Just wish they could get your order rite every now and then. So many times it's delivered wrong. Staff are friendly be warned they add 20p on your order for bag.

The food is very nice and filling, I especially enjoy the satay chicken noodles and the crispy seaweed.

Wouldn’t recommend to anyone really. We ordered from here as opposed to our usual as none of them were open and we had a craving! Before we even had it home, I left the takeaway and within seconds was called back in as they had to “check my order”. They did so and gave it back to me. I left and got to my car about 3 minutes later, and found them calling me to say they’d given me the wrong order and I had to bring it back. So I go back and they give me my order finally. Our order: kung po king prawn, egg fried rice, beef chow mein, crispy chilli shredded beef, plain noodles, spring roll and prawn crackers. First off, every single dish was some how flavourless, yet tasted the same?? The kung po was definitely just sweet and sour, as was the crispy chilli beef. The crispy shredded beef was pure batter, there was no beef to be found in it, which was the same for the beef chow mein. Not even soy sauce helped bring out any flavour. Overall very very disappointing, you’d get more flavour from cardboard drenched in soy sauce. That’ll teach us for straying from the usuals!

Terrible service was rude to me I ask for the number 1 combo and she ignored me and continued to be rude recommending me different items on the menu highly do not recommend under any circumstances

recently ordered from The China House and was impressed by their exceptional customer service. I have a low tolerance for spice and requested a non-spicy vermicelli dish, which they were able to accommodate without any issues. The vermicelli was cooked to perfection, and the flavours were delicious without being overpowering. I will definitely be returning for more of their dishes. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a customizable and tasty Chinese takeaway option.

Best Chinese takeaway in Daventry in my opinion!

I've had a lot of chinese food from around the UK and Europe and this is by far the worst I've ever had. The chicken curry was the worst I've ever tried. The chicken was so soft and mushy I'm certain it was boiled. The extra curry sauce for the chips tasted awful and cheap. Definitely not fresh. More like cheap factory bulk. The chips were undercooked oven chips - uneatable. There were more onions and peas than anything else. The chicken fried rice was flavourless and not well seasoned. The chow mein tasted awful, the noodles were the only thing close to flavour and we could tell it wasn't fresh either. We stopped eating all 3 dishes after a few mouthfuls, the food just tasted so bad and dodgy.

Very good Cantonese style food especially the prawn toasts, chilli salted ribs and the various chow meins. I avoid any sweet and sour sauces though as it doesn't taste or look home made at all. Love the chilli salted box sharer starter for a lazy supper. I always collect too for maximum freshness.

Got home order not complete chis tasteless

This is not just the worst Chinese I've had in Daventry, it's also the worst chinese I've ever had in my life. The sweet and sour chicken looked like small chicken nuggets covered in a thick galatinous slimy yellowish bland 'sauce'. The egg fried rice had almost no egg in it. The other dishes were equally as slimy and horrible. On the positive side it was delivered relatively fast but I wish I hadn't ordered as it mostly went in the bin.

Ordered a take away tonight which was tasty but I ordered the chilli salt crispy prawns which again was tasty.but out of the 10 so called Kings prawns at least 5 of them were just pure batter without the prawns inside !!!!!. So be mindful of what you pay for and what you actually get for what you pay for.

I will never order from here again, worst chow mein we have had which had no flavour and was very dry! We have had better fish and chips cooked from frozen in the oven, dry, breaded and all gone in the bin! Even children wouldn't eat it when they love this type of food !

Been having chines food i daventry for 45 yrs and i think ive just had the worst food ever yesterdays chips spare rib sauce was rank but ribs wer tender but tasted terrible hope the birds enjoy ..out the window waste of a tenner

I always had great service when ordering sweet and sour chicken balls! They were delicious and just how I liked them. The source was a perfect balance of sweet and sour, also. One of my favourite takeaways in Daventry.

So disappointed on Saturday with takeaway, it was as if from a different restaurant, food not cooked well, chicken balls tasteless and soggy, sweet and sour sauce glue like. The last few times we have been was very good. Thinking not sure if we will go there again.

Waited 1 hour and 20 minutes for my food, my mate ordered 2 large battered sausages and got two small sausages, when I rang up a young lady told someone I assume was the owner, who claims they sent the correct order, I suggested there must have been some mix up and was told they don't know what to do, after asking if I could have a partial refund for the difference and heard the owner shout at the lady on the phone about it and said to me they're sending out a replacement and they never did deliver it. I won't be ordering from here again and suggest if people don't want to wait over an hour or get mixed up orders to order a delivery elsewhere.

Satay chicken is good. Cantonese chicken is not good, better choose the sweet and sour chicken, as at least they velvetise the meat there.

Spent nearly £70 on 3 people, delivery took over 2 hrs, called restaurant after 1hr 40 mins and they said the driver had already left with food and should have already arrived, food turned up 30mins after, was barely luke warm, greasy and overall nasty, asked for money back and they refused, what a waste of food and money, wont be using again.

Just had one of the chefs specials which I can quiet honestly say was completely tasteless. The special rice was ok, but was wet? What's that all about? The chicken is not proper chicken it was "processed". The young lady that served me was lovely. Nether the less I won't be visiting there again. 😑

Food was awful, The curry sauce Didn't taste right, Threw nearly half if it away, And the next morning all 3 of us were poorly

Food took just over an hour and a half to arrive after i had to phone up and chase it. When it arrived the food in bags had become so sweaty the bag tore apart and only one item was warm :( gutted as they are normally really good.

I live locally and never thought to come here. But my God the food was so nice and that's good considering I'm so fussy! I choose the meal for one and it's a perfect size to share with me and my daughter. Also to add to the compliments the customer service was good and the delivery was on time. No complaints

Hot, freshly prepared, very good food

I thought I had found my favourite Take Away 'Canton House' on Just Eat. So I ordered via the website. 2 hr's later I am calling my regular place who have no recollection of such an order and stated that they didn't even advertise on Just Eat. Just as well the 'real' Canton House delivered to me within 30 minutes of calling them. China House is obviously an inferior imitation of Canton House and in no way related to them. Whilst I can't comment on their food as it never came, I can say that their service is absolutely terrible and non existent. Avoid them and ordering from the Just Eat website if you don't want to wait around hungry. Absolute joke of a place.
