Nice to go for a quiet drink. Bit expensive drinks wise but nice to sit out in the court yard in summer. Table service available. A mix of residents and non residents of the hotel.

Enjoyable but VERY overpriced fro what you got and service could be better. Telephoned to book a few days before for afternoon tea for two and made to feel they were squeezing us in but when we got there we were the only people booked that afternoon. Brought out the food (nicely presented) but that was all. Consisted of several small finger size sandwiches and several cakes, Sandwiches were all smothered in branston pickle (great if you like it, tough if you don't - and we don't) We had to chase up beverages to go with the tea as nobody had offered us any half an hour later. Found out we could have had prosecco for an additional cost but were not informed of this. Very overpriced for what you got.

We paid in advance for our evening meals but staff seemed a bit confused at first and gave us the a la carte menu. When we asked, we were given the shorter menu which had a fine selection of meals to choose from.

Disappointed - service poor and quality of afternoon tea worst one I've ever had. Bland cakes all of which felt like they had been sitting out for some time non of which had the wow factor. No variety at all- scone, dry lemon drizzle, a claggy sad looking piece of cheese cake and some choux bun with no topping just cream. Also the cleanliness of the display box it was served in had a lot to be desired. Afternoon tea is supposed to be special this felt like a chore to plough through. Was slightly embarrassed as had taken my friend as a treat for her birthday. Far superior afternoon teas in the local area, will be going to those establishments in the future!

Wonderful Staff, Indra, Adam and Liz gave us excellent speedy service, lovely well presented food and excellent wines, beautifully chilled and served in elegant thin rim wine glasses, along with such pleasant and friendly conversation - this really made our stay at the Worsley Park Marriott Hotel so extremely enjoyable... thank you so much, we will always stay here when in Manchester. As I enjoy a nice Indian, I decided to have dinner in the bar, 'Beef Madras' which was nothing like Indian at all and very dry and hardly any spice and would definitely not recommend this particular dish

A busy bar, but with good service and tasty food. Not the cheapest, but worth the money.Different types of seating give plenty of options whether you are alone, as a couple or in a group.

As one would expect in a hotel, the drinks were very expensive. Food looked okay, we didn't eat there, but plenty of people were ordering and eating food. quite a nice atmosphere

Afternoon tea is a past time for me, and I have had quite a number in the lats 18 months from small cafes to posh hotels. I even blog about them http://afternoon-tea-visits.blogspot.co.uk/2014/08/chimney-bar-and-lounge-marriott-hotel.html The afternoon tea is served in the Chimney Bar and Lounge part of the hotel, a public bar area but do not let this put you off it is a very nice bar area with comfy seats and plenty of room. It is not a bar where there is a TV or lots of noise etc.We arrived early, and they were just arranging the table for us. Not a problem though and we opted for a drink from the bar first to allow the staff to carry on without the pressure of the annoying early customer....We were seated on comfy seats with a nice big table and offered tea or coffee and as usual had one of each. There was a choice of tea including herbal infusions and coffees including latte, cappuccino etc. This is one of the average priced afternoon teas at £18.50 per person. As one would expect it was presented with care and attention. The crockery does have a modern, elegant look and feel to it which suits the venue yet keeps the traditional presentation going. There were ten fingers sandwiches to share including, cheese and onion, egg, salmon and beef. Very fresh on a mixture of white and brown bread and very tasty. There was the traditional fruit scone served with two individual pots of jam, dish of cream served with strawberry halves. The middle tier had lots of mini treats including strawberry mousse, choux buns, lemon cheesecake and chocolate brownies. There was an extra treat served to the side of a Prosecco jelly. One of the small details that I really appreciated was the number of proportionally sized tea spoons that were provided. I have had a number of instances where food has been served with spoons that were simply to big or not long enough to fit the container that food was served in. Equally having enough for each item to be able to use a clean one was noted.Overall the service, food and presentation was excellent. There was nothing that could be faulted and the value was very good. As ever it took some time to finish and we were full as we left.I highly recommend a visit and enjoy the miniature delights from the chef.

I've stayed many times in this hotel and always consider this bar to be the hub of the hotel. It's used by business people through the week and people visiting the hotel for a weekend break or attending the many weddings or events held there. They have recently refurbished the chairs and upholstery and the new colour scheme is a nice improvement. They serve food from a good varied menu and a lovely afternoon tea. My husband and I treat ourselves to afternoon tea when we were there and everything was so fresh and tasty from the sandwiches to the choice of cakes and yummy scones. The place is very comfortable and relaxed. There is also access to a courtyard which has plenty seats. Lovely to sit outside in the sun. They have a couple of large umbrellas with heat lamps so we sat outside well into the evening. The staff here are very well trained and very polite. Their friendly approach to service is a nice touch. A well managed part of the hotel. Our weekend was great and will certainly be back there soon.

Food was delicious. All the Caribbean flavours, without too much spice. Portions were small but sufficient. Works out approx £10 per head. Would definitely recommend.
