The Chequers Inn in Central Bedfordshire

Would be a lovely place if the people that worked here actually put in the effort. False advertisement. Says it’s open till 5pm online but can’t order any food after 2pm? When questioned about it the “boss” just brushes it off by saying it’s “changing” but no one that lives there even knows this? He seems to not care at all about his customers. This place used to be nice but it has just got worse and worse. Something needs to change, this is where people live and they can’t even order a decent meal after 2pm. Terrible!

Went for anniversary lunch.Food was amazing.Portions very generous and very flavoursome.We ordered from the diamond club (over 50s) menu and it was a fantastic deal!! Staff lovely and ambience great :)

Amazing service and staff is really polite and friendly.

I deducted two stars because some of the dishes I wanted were unavailable. I didn’t mind that the seafood paella came without mussels, but unfortunately, it wasn’t offered at all, so I had to go with the chicken option instead. The kids’ meal was also missing one ingredient and was replaced with something else. On a positive note, the cheesy sliced potatoes served with the lamb chops were delicious! Overall, the flavors were rather plain, and the prices were slightly high for the area.

Enjoyed a lovely breakfast here, cheap, tasty and great service, staff here are very friendly.
