Awesome cheese shop! Very well priced and stock is great.

Very good selection of cheeses, I was being indecisive and couldn’t decide so I was asked what kind of cheeses I like and the guy really knows his stuff and even gave me little samples to try! Very kind family especially I’m assuming the son, very chatty with me and very welcoming, I will always go here for my cheese :)

Didn't enjoy the experience, went in to buy a few items yesterday afternoon. Bought one item and asked for advice on other cheeses. Got a snappy sarcastic response which was also nonsense, no greeting and stoney eye contact from the Asian owner. Don't want to assume his reasons but will not be shopping here again as Asians when our presence & custom definitely seems unwelcome.

I was craving panettone and ended up getting a massive hazelnut chocolate glazed one on sale. It was described as luscious and decadent and fully lived up to the claims! The panettone was airy, moist and has pockets of hazelnut chocolate inside, perfect for sweet cravings without being cloying.

Excellent selection of cheeses, as well as pasta, preserves, crackers, etc. The samosas are also very nice. It's pricey, but that's expected for high-quality cheese and such a wide selection. If you want Cathedral city or plastic cheese, go to Sainsburys. Service is a bit of a Russian roulette: the young lad is super friendly and personable, the mum is friendly and knowledgeable but the dad is super grumpy and always seems like he's been forced to work there against his will. I'm actually relieved when I see him smoking outside!

As many others have said, great selection with descriptions of taste and texture of each cheese type listed on small signs. Absolutely terrible service.

Incredibly rude owner. I went in and asked for 300g of one cheese, and 100g of two others. I noted that the owner gave me 300g of two and 100g of the third instead. I corrected him regarding this, however he fobbed me off saying he'd given me the correct amounts, however charged me for more. Horrible attitude.

I've been shopping here for years. I love the family, the service and the cheese, did I mention the crackers, chutneys, chocolate....This list is endless of delicious things to buy. If you still haven't shopped here then you're seriously missing out. While you're at it drop into SMBS next door, for more deliciousness.

The guy there, whom I’m assuming is the owner, is rude beyond belief. No idea what his deal is. We bought multiple things from his store and I really wish we hadn’t. He was particularly sour with my partner, and she was nothing, but nice to him.

Great selection of products, not just cheese but chocolates and cupboard.

I love this shop. I wish I knew their names but the three behind the counter are lovely people. Very helpful and know what you're trying to ask with the 100+ cheeses they have. We go there almost weekly it's so good :)

The Indian guy is very friendly and he loves whiskey like myself

Good selection of cheeses — but rude staff means we won’t be returning. We also found one of the cheeses we purchased hadn’t been refrigerated cold enough and ruined its texture. Would recommend other cheesemongers in the area.

As a novice cheese buyer, I was looking for a cheese for my Dad's Christmas present. Well, who knew this was such a crime? I was made to feel as if I was stupid and annoying for even asking. The service was so poor and unbelievably rude. I left the shop almost in tears. My advice, find another cheese shop! There are several in this area that would be more than happy to help!

Beautiful shop - beautiful products. Moody staff and owners who don’t want to be there. I’ve been there a few times over the last 6 years and I’ve always found the owners to be moody.

Been a customer for some time now and the cheese selection is fantastic, service is excellent, well worth a try!

I started working and living in east dulwich years ago and discovered this shop, since then I haven’t looked back. I now no longer live in the area and drive over an hour to grt their cheese. Truly one of a kind

The Cheese block is superb. I have been going there for many years. It has a loyal following. I drive from Forest Hill just to go there. Yes, the owner is sometimes grumpy but I have seen him put up with an unpleasant lady who demanded to try about 10 cheeses and then not buying anything! I think that was her Lunch. Every cheese is in perfect condition. You can try before you buy but be reasonable. I don't bother to bring cheese back from European trips any more - I can usually find it cheaper and in better condition at the Cheese Block. They always have a perfectly ripe full-sized Brie de Meaux available. They do appreciate their regular customers and they tend to know what I will choose before I know myself! Lovely unusual chocolate, good choice of best biscuits for cheese and lovely bread. Also some Italian specialities - best pasta, pannetone and fresh pastries.

Very good cheese but unfriendly. Check the weights and the prices if you can. "Mistakes" sometimes happen.

Great stock of cheese. Knowledgeable staff. Slightly grumpy owner, which i loved. He told me off for liking the wrong Stilton.

I have bought some cheese and I was over charged, I have found the same cheese half of the price in a different shop....not going back!

Great selection of cheese, but also other bits I like: homemade samosas, olive bread sticks, plus all sorts of jars and things you could give as a present or something.

I had to find oysters which I did at Moxon, on my way back I popped in and bought samosas (they are the best!!) fresh pesto again really good, and I found a cheese with chill in it, perfect!

Good selection of cheese. I always find the one I am looking for but the staff is so rude in my opinion. They don't give you any advices or even a smile. I find it just unacceptable to treat your customers that way. It is really sad as it is a nice shop with good products in there.

Nice local cheesemongers. They also sell other things like olives, hams, bread and other bits and bobs. Honestly though, I prefer 'Mons cheesemongers' just a bit further up the road as they are more customer focused with a better wealth of knowledge. Nothing wrong with the cheese block just not my preference over the two

Delicious products and the staff were very knowledgeable and helpful. I felt very welcome and got everything I needed.

Estos chicos realmente tienen una gran selección de quesos y todos los acompañamientos, incluyendo deliciosos chutneys hechos en casa (se hacen ellos mismos) todo tipo de panes y galletas. Pero básicamente es un montón de deliciosos quesos en excelentes condiciones. No charlan como la nueva y elegante competencia en la carretera, pero en realidad AMO esta tienda y quiero que se quede para siempre porque es tan buena como comprar comida en Francia o Italia.

Always delicious cheeses! And sandwiches too, one of my favourite shops on the lane. The staff are always really helpful and patient despite my indecisiveness.

This is a little gem of a shop, especially if you like your cheeses and your preserves. Yeah, sure, you could go to Sainsbury's and buy your cheese in there instead ..but why would you want to? The 'miserable' girl, really isn't- she's lovely, as is the boss, and they're both extremely knowledgeable. The cheese isn't as expensive as some might think, (You live in London, grow up) and if you are looking for something in particular or even just have a broad idea of what you'd like, they're both very accommodating and helpful. Great shop, great cheese, great people. Now my go-to cheese fix. Keep up the good work!

Lovely range of bread, cheese, food gifts and fresh sandwiches and samosas. There are lots of jams and preserves which make great gifts.

Amazing cheese selection, good prices, knowledgeable and friendly staff. I go almost every weekend to get some of my fav cheese plus some new recommendations. Great variety of European delis as well. A hidden treasure.

I was shocked my the price of a little piece of cheese, £8.79. When I had this cheese at home it wasn't anything fancy or special. Sainsbury's is 50% cheaper. Friendly blonde lady but I won't be buying again because of how expensive it is.

There is a great selection of well kept cheeses in this Aladdins Cave of a shop. I only wish the prices were not on the premium side.

Shop is brillliant - selection is massive and will go back for more but will make sure I get served by anyone other than that miserable girl - she doesn't need to be anything other than just reasonable. If she hates customers so much take her off the counter .....

The cheese is first class. If you want to try something, ask. They always oblige. Rarely a dud cheese and loads of tempting extras. If the staff don't fawn over you, too bad. I'm a regular and it's staying that way. Montenebro, 3yr old Gouda and Picos de Europa. Every time.

Voy a luchar para hacer más de un par de líneas aquí. Este es el queso manzana. No de queso. Un montón de queso y pan. No es barato, pero tiene un montón de queso. si quieres barato, entonces no corte pre y poundland digeridos curiosamente rodajas de naranja antes de queso. si quieres algo que sabe fantástico, luego llegar a la cuadra de queso. What more can I say? A real 'centre of excellence' - knowledgeable staff and a wonderful range of cheeses to experiment with.

Ignore the crabby East Dulwich punters!! What the hell do they want? The staff are fine and the cheese is fantastic. Not to be missed if it's cheese you want.

Estoy bastante regular y a menudo pop en algo para llevar para el almuerzo, normalmente un sándwich o un fabuloso y abundante poco samosa Chick de guisante. Siempre encontrará el servicio amable y hablador, muerto en un poco de pan tipo de forma (si eso tiene sentido). Puede gastar mucho dinero en todos los suculentos bocados en la tienda, pero también se puede tomar un sabroso almuerzo por no más de lo que pasa en la cooperativa.

The Cheese Block has been here as long as we've lived in the area (over 20 years) but we only went in for the first time at the end of last year, and have been half a dozen times since.The specialty may be cheese , and we've now tried a number, which is all well kept and I've heard someone come in and ask for a particular type of cheese to be told they will have it back in stock in a couple of weeks as the particular cheese comes from Spain and they need to be able to sell it as it doesn't last which shows they understand their produce and don't stock everything - there will always be something new to try. There are other deli items and a wide range of tins, jars and plenty more.Staff always seem keen to offer advice or alternatives.So glad we found this, just wish it hadn't taken us so long.

Wonderful selection of cheese bread crackers and more. Great service and the aroma is beautiful. Owner friendly and knows absolutely everything about cheese! Try to avoid mid morning on Saturday though its smallish and gets rally full.

Les pedí una pregunta una vez y me dieron molestó "oscuro" y una estúpida respuesta. No ir allí en cualquier momento pronto - no me gusta comer gouda de Sainsbury de tener que tratar con ellos.

Noticed a previous message about crabbie staff, my experience could not be further. Staff were really friendly and chatted about products, which they seem passionate about. No hard sells. Large selection and fairly priced.

Good selection of cheese, but there are much better local alternatives (particulalrly farmers market on Railton Road on Sundays). The service is simply awful and staff don't wear gloves when handling food. I asked and told that they don't have them available.

La tragedia es que el queso es maravilloso la selección y la elección es amplia sofisticado y variada. Sin embargo no puedo conseguir la actitud hosca y un servicio pobre de mi mente. La llave a la construcción de un muy buen negocio debe ser seguramente para nutrir al cliente y si el trabajo de servir a clientes irks molesta y luego conseguir otro trabajo, contratar a alguien cortés o vender el negocio y encontrar otra carrera. ¡Qué tragedia, y no la única tienda en señorío Lane que sufren de este malestar.

I love this place, Lovely little selection of cheeses and a very knowledgeable man behind the bar. Perfect if your hosting a dinner party or just want a good bored with some wine!!!

Quality cheese (and other fine produce) and staff willing to take the time to talk about cheese/guide you if you're willing to sample new stuff. If not for the owner suggesting I sampled a bit I probably would never have discovered what's now my go-to winter warmer on toast.

fantástica selección de quesos, buenos panes, carnes frías y deli mostrador. También hay algunas cosas bonitas de calidad en los estantes que están muy bien para intentar hacer buenas regalos. Ten cuidado si usted comprar unas cuantas cosas el costo pronto Mounts hasta £20 así que añadir el costo como vas por si tienes un presupuesto! Tengo que decir que nunca he comprado algo que no me gusta de esta tienda y tiene una buena reputación entre East Dulwich residentes.
