Absolutely delightful lunch. We arrived during Friday afternoon, we hadn’t booked but we were welcomed by a charming and helpful waitress, Sienna . We had a delicious lunch-perfectly cooked and served in a really lovely dining room. It was such a pleasure to find a restaurant of this quality near the Picture Gallery, and we will certainly return.

I did the floral design and decorations for an event in Belair house. Amazing premises, easy to dress and fantastic lighting and fixtures to work with. Nesh and Sienna oversaw my two visits. The first visit was a walk-through to measure up and finalise layout and the second visit on event day. On both occasions I was able to get queries answered, was supported by management, help and assistance was offered throughout the time. I found Nesh and Sienna worked so well together and embraced my colleagues and I as part of their team. A very positive experience and harmonious atmosphere amongst staff, suppliers and contributors. This venue has a unique and pleasant ambiance which adds to its beauty.

We are a party planning company who chose Belair house without hesitation after one visit. It is a beautiful space, with outdoor areas & tasteful furniture that you have the choice to use & rearrange. The guests enjoyed their fabulous three course meal, plated & served with such attention to detail. The staff went above & beyond to make the guests feel welcomed & special on their big celebration. The staff were well presented, professional & managed the day’s schedule perfectly. We would like to make mention of Sienna, having worked with many venues & event coordinators over the years, Sienna was legendary & by far the best coordinator we’ve experienced. Great communication, every question and inquiry answered quickly, all information provided beforehand & her organisation helped us deliver a seamless day for our client. Sienna worked tirelessly to map the day, plan the table layout, the seating plan, the delightful menu & provided a well managed day from set-up, managing vendors, welcome drinks, dinner service & everything in between. We couldn’t have done it without her! A big thank you to Sienna & her dream team at Belair House who helped us create a highly successful event which blew our client away. We will be using Belair House for many more events to come as we have had an all-round dream venue experience.

We had such a lovely experience at Belair house. My parents had a Victorian Themed Anniversary and the place really fit the theme its is gorgeous. The dinning room is beautiful. the tables are well presented as well as the food. the bar area is also really beautiful its has sofas which give a nice place to escape from the main dinning hall. the food was amazing we had the lamb and sea bass as our 2 option they were absolutely delicious we couldn't decide on which one we wanted to order ourselves. The staff were very helpful really friendly and very efficient they were on top of everything. Everything was executed well. They also have a very good sound system which is very easy to use you can simply plug pin your phone and can hear the music in both the dinning room and the bar area. there is a lovely area with lots of windows which is where we put our cake and other dessert which was stunning the lighting was absolutely amazing it was so pretty. everything about this place was so authentic and had such a lovely charm to it. The bread, olives and cheeses in the pictures weren't included in the price that costed extra so we bought our own swell as most of the decoration was ours. But the staff were more than happy to help us and let us decorate and use the space as we pleased it was a very positive experience.

The best place to have your wedding - highly recommend! What a perfect day we had with the amazing the staff at Belair House. From the moment we went in, the venue looked absolutely stunning. Ruth (florist) did a phenomenal job with the flowers but not only that - we had so many comments from our friends and family saying how friendly Belair staff were. The welcome drinks were bang on time, the canapés were delicious (unfortunately because I was chatting I didn't have many but what I did have were delicious!), the food was absolutely divine. We had comments saying it was the best wedding food people had had at a wedding! The room was just perfect - intimate and cosy. Just what I wanted for the wedding meal. 60 people - perfection. The blush pink table cloths and candles, flowers on the table were just such a beautiful combination and as my MoH did her speech against the golden glow of the windows outside - I'll never forget it. When evening guests arrive, it was all so seamless. The timing was spot on and I think we were even early which was great. The journey up to the top floor created an exciting new room for us to be in and the speeches on the staircase were magical. I loved doing mine! The cocktails were DELICIOUS (margaritas and espresso martinis) and again, I remember staff being so kind when I asked for my evening outfit. They knew the schedule like the back of their hand and you could tell. Your GM and assistant GM did a phenomenal job - special credit to OJ who even dressed in our colour scheme in a beautiful blush suit! I remember him being so smiley when we arrived. It made all the difference. The evening dancing was the best. We were beyond pleased with the band - just such a good sound in that room and everything was perfect. I loved scoffing my face with some cake at 2am downstairs with my nearest and dearest - all such special memories. Thank you Tasha, venue planner, for being so on it - she is clearly amazing at her job. Words cannot describe how perfect the day was - and it was all down to Tasha's work behind the scenes and the friendliest staff on site on Saturday. I can't recommend Belair highly enough. It was the most perfect memorable amazing day. Thank you everyone at Belair!

We had a gorgeous wedding day here. Tasha & John made organisation so simple and easy, and the staff on the day were superb - everything went smoothly and they worked so hard to make the day special! We opted for the three course meal and everyone commented on how tasty the food was. They also made it really easy for us to make it our own day - we DIYed a karaoke set up and they helped us make it work on the day, and we provided a few decorations for the table which they made look fantastic. We're so glad we picked Belair and are hugely grateful to all the staff, thank you!

On March 2nd 2024 for a family wedding, as a guest .Drinks on arrival and canapes for 40, Lunch for 60 with 3 individually selected pre chosen courses, which we did not have to remember!! This was followed by a Quiz for a larger group again, cake cutting and then party till late with kariokee. The staff were lovely throughout. The food was exceptionally good, with particularly attractive and tasty starters, mains and desserts. They also responded brilliantly as 2 of our guests thought they wouldn't be able to come and then made it but arrived late for the meal. Immediately 2 seats were included back into the scheme and their previously ordered dishes came out. They were made to feel it was no trouble and how welcome they were. In addition the building is beautiful and the grounds are lovely. Highly highly recommended!!

Can’t really give anything other than 1 star here. We arranged a viewing of Belair House for our wedding venue. On the day we agreed with them no one was there and the place was closed. No contact info on the door. We tried calling the events planner and the venue itself but no answer. Eventually we sent them an email to update them and left. That was one week ago and we’ve still not heard a word from them. I would not trust them to arrange any sort of event after that.

We had our office party there 2 days ago and to our horror upon arrival we found a very dirty red carpet. Absolutely appalling! The food quality was poor and clearly not cooked on site but rather warmed up before serving and half burnt roast pods. Really! They served starters without bread for salads but then again, the salad were bad without dressing. The service was ridiculous, with the manager walking around with a piece of paper telling totally untrained and clueless waitresses where to put the plates for the guests. All this with not a single friendly or smiling approach from either but 1 of the waitresses. Then we purchased soft drinks for no less than 5 pounds. We requested a drink menu only to be told that they did not have one. Well, you will all guess of the old rip-off technic. Absolutely joke! Do not waste your money there if you are after a good meal and nice surroundings. Only the outside of the venue is gorgeous.

We were a party of five. We had a nice welcome into a vast room but fortunately they placed us in a small, sunny annex Belair House is a really strange place; lots of folk out walking their dogs in the grounds which are a bit tatty and it’s very shabby chic inside - no, it’s very tired and dirty. As a wedding venue it could be tarted up to work but as a restaurant, no The service was stilted but ok but the food was good Three of us had Roast Beef which was excellent although my wife thought there was a strange herb over powering her food. The Poisson was really nice and I stole a pig in blanket which was lovely. Fish Goujons were polished off by our five year old grand daughter Nice drinks but I can’t recommend Belair House as a restaurant

We went for a £35 per person high tea. The food was obviously prepared off site so rather get the name of the catering company and get the food and have your high tea in the park. The service is shockingly bad and the atmosphere is terrible. For four people we paid £140 and I had to tell them that I am most certainly not paying 12% service fee. There was no service. The music resembled that of a nightclub and not a high-class venue. All round terrible experience. Would not recommend.

I had my prom in this place and I loved it, amazing food and amazing place. Although the service with the staff wasn’t what I had expected since they were half hearted with their job. Served 6 people with drinks and left all of us to get the drinks ourself the whole time. Few staff were actually abit rude as they just stood near our food and glared at us the whole way and not moving out of the way when we were serving ourselves. Now for food was 5⭐️ although it was alittle upsetting the food wasn’t enough but that cooking was still delicious! DJ was decent at the prom as well super friendly. Unique selling Point in this place would definitely be the atmosphere and the food but not so on the staff working there.

Came here for my birthday and the food was amazing. The staff weren’t horrible but seemed kinda fed up of being there - don’t expect them to be robots but when serving other people seemed to be more interested. You do have to buy the rice separate like Indian takeaways which was abit of a let down. Another thing was the dish my friend got wasn’t nice and has other complications with it and he simply wanted to change it but that was an extra charge (he had barely eaten anything). But other than that it was great. Ps. Don’t get the chicken tikka, it tasted off! Everything else was nice. 💕

Our family genuinely love this place, today being our second visit this month for all 6 of us. The food is consistently first class having tasted both the Indian and Sunday Lunch menus and our request for a Table in the Bay area was happily accomodated for by the pleasant staff. Belair House enjoys a fabulous location with the potential to raise itself into the upper echelon of Restaurants in South London ... But, to do that, some fundamental and very basic issues require addressing :- e.g: You shouldn't be serving Tomato Sauce in sachets that can be freely obtained from an 'M & S' Petrol Garage ... Whilst the Sauces accompanying both the Indian & Lunch meals are excellent, no thought is given to the provision of other condiments - Salt & Pepper, etc ... Just 2 examples of minor things that, currently, 'take the edge off' this venue elevating itself to a higher level. There are other, obvious, improvements that could be easily made :- Some attractive 'Planting' to the Patio areas + some Cushions on the chairs would be nice ! ... However, despite all that, we will continue to visit Belair House on a regular basis because it is, literally, an 'Oasis' with the strong possibility of achieving its full potential ... we sincerely hope that it does.

Came here for lunch at about 12.30pm on a weekday with a friend. Restaurant completely devoid of customers. A waiter told us we could sit anywhere. We selected a table overlooking the garden, took off our coats, sat down and settled in. We were then approached by an appallingly rude woman staff member who demanded that we vacate the table as it was reserved. I asked why there was no reservation sign on the table and she shrugged that off. ( at that point we ought to have quitted the restaurant). We chose another table. At no time during our stay were there any other customers in the restaurant and no sign of anyone claiming the table of first choice that we had been forced to abandon. The standard of Indian style food was average (no better that food-to-go or a takeaway from one’s local Indian restaurant). The sole redeeming feature was the quality of the wine. We do not recommend this restaurant.

Belair House is located a short walk away from both West Dulwich station and the Dulwich Picture Gallery. I visited on a Tuesday afternoon and was the only diner. Despite that, service was quite slow and particularly so when awaiting my bill. To start, I had seared scallops and lamb chops with mooli mustard and mushroom palak. To drink, I had a large gin & tonic plus a glass of Viognier. The scallops were good, but at a price of £14 for four, somewhat exorbitant. The lamb chops were decent but a little too spicy for my taste. The drinks were good and despite a seasonal 20% discount, the bill for one came to just under £60 without service.

Booked for Mothers day Sunday Lunch. On arrival we stood in the chilly hall way for a while before we were acknowledged, told by a man (wearing a logo sweat top not in a uniform as the rest of the staff) he went off to 'Find Our Table', after a few moments he returned and we were seated. A glass of prosecco was served to myself but nothing for my guest, and he was not asked if he would like a drink at all. Eventually a member of staff asked if we would like to order anything, we asked for a bottle of wine, which the pourer spilt whilst pouring. Then were asked if we wanted to order our food, we ordered a starter and main course each, then the waiter said we had to order our dessert at the same time as they were going to be really busy and the chef and manager have to know our dessert choices at this ordering stage, Really! Never heard this before! How do you know you will want a dessert when you have not eaten anything yet! Anyway we did order the three courses at the same time. After a wait the soup was served, this was luke warm with 'Crusty Bread' this was in fact two rolls that had been put in the oven and were now extremely hard and crumbly. Eventually these bowls were cleared and after quite a long wait the main course was served. The Roast Beef was very stringy and fatty, the lamb was fine to eat, have to ask for condiments and sauces as these are not already on the table. The roast vegetables which were a small portion hidden under the meat were just luke warm, swimming in a fatty gravy, it was edible but definately not a good roast dinner. These plates were eventually cleared and we sat for a very long time waiting for the dessert to arrive, three servers asked if we had had our dessert, we told each of them we had not and were still waiting, eventually this arrived, the server put the plates down, went off to get us a spoon each, to then put this in the centre of the dessert, not beside the plate! Very off putting as not only did this spoil the look of the dessert, it also made you feel uneasy using the spoon as it was delivered to us from the waiters hands not in a serviette or covering! We expected to sit and enjoy our wine but were asked twice if we wanted our bill and once it was just brought to us with the card machine, they were obviously in a hurry for guests to leave. The seating although looks ok, needs reupholstering, the middle of the seat is very saggy so you sit lower in the chair than is comfortable. The bar area although says open on the main door, is not actually open so would not be able to meet friends before/after meal which is vert misleading, it's either open to the public or its not. Would not revisit and others should be prepared to know if you want 2 or 3 courses before you sit down, and meeting friends before or after a meal is not likely. A most disappointing visit for a special occasion.

It’s shameful how awful Belair has become. In 2014 my parents were married here so it’s a special place to the family. But after our last meal there we will never be returning. The staff couldn’t do the bare minimum. On arrival the table we’d booked had been given to someone else. From the beginning the service was slow and the staff were unprofessional, unorganised and uneducated on the food they’re serving. Our plates of food arrived to the table at different times, when we asked why they couldn’t be served together and we were told they weren’t all ready at the same time - we all ordered a Sunday roast. Despite this, none of the food was even hot! Their menu is untruthful, some things marked vegan aren’t actually vegan. And surpassingly the ‘honey roasted carrots’ are actually vegan because they use golden syrup - not honey. When asked what came with the vegetarian meal we where first told the gravy was made with bone broth, the staff genuinely don’t know the ingredients in the food they’re serving. This is very concerning, for people with diary requirements and allergies! The staff also don’t understand the concept of vegetarian and vegan food. When we ordered the vegan roast it came with Yorkshire puddings that we’re marked vegan on the menu, but they actually contained dairy and egg!!! Even the meat eaters meals were incorrect and not cooked to the specifics given. We communicated clearly and patiently with the staff, however they were so rude and unhelpful. If a cheap pub can successfully churn out decent hot Sunday roasts (and not have a menu full of concerning mistakes ) then I actually can’t understand why a place that panders to the luxury market can’t do such basic things. Disgraceful.

The new 1785 North Indian (mainly) restaurant in Belair House has the setting, and the cuisine, for 'fine dining'. A short and very tasty menu (mainly North Indian but with a Keralan prawn dish) served in the posh dining room, with an excellent bar across the hall offers very much a high end rather than high street 'Indian' restaurant experience. Everything we had seemed well spiced and authentic. Prices not unreasonable for the experience. Worth trying for a special night out. There is parking.

AVOID! We went today for lunch or should I say we went today as we didn’t actually get our lunch. We waited for 5 minutes and were ignored by the waitress so we walked into the restaurant, approached 2 staff who were sat folding napkins and informed them that we had a reservation, it seemed that I wasn’t understood and was then greeted by the waitress who asked us where we would like to sit. We hadn’t needed to make a reservation as the restaurant wasn’t that busy. We were given menus and about 15 minutes later given drinks menus and asked if we were ready to order. We asked if wine was sold by the glass as only prices per bottle were displayed and we were told that they don’t sell wine by the glass. We ordered our food and 5 minutes later we were asked if we would like our meat medium or well done. My partner had ordered the nut roast and I had ordered lamb. Whilst we waited 35 minutes for our food to arrive, I overheard 2 other tables complain about their orders being wrong, food being stone cold and the service generally being poor. In addition to the service being consistently slow, the food was eventually brought to our table, it was cold! At least there was more consistency. After being there for nearly an hour with no food we left. Why did we wait that long? Well we wanted to give them a chance as I had read that they had reopened on the 25th of October. If you are still reading, I’d go somewhere else for your Sunday lunch. You might also consider booking your wedding reception elsewhere as you’ll be divorced before your food arrives!

The staff were very friendly and when we had questions about what they'd recommend from the menu, they were quick to suggest some great options. The food was fresh and cooked to perfection. The dessert was fantastic! Hands down the best sticky toffee pudding we've ever had. Very different with a touch of coconut and ginger in it and ice cream on top. Overall a wonderful experience. Everyone was dressed up nicely and was looking forward to the birthday party, especially after 2 years of COVID! And it was ruined by its bad service! This is a prime example of how terrible service can ruin the whole experience at a beautiful location! There were 2 private events scheduled last weekend. So you would think they are prepared for it and trained their staff properly... but that wasn't the case. Almost all glasses and plates were dirty. When I requested a new one the waitress just looked at me annoyed and slammed the dirty glass on the counter behind her to give me a new one. The cherry on top, they charged us the wrong amount for the drinks... no apology, no extra, nothing but a blank stare and a shoulder shrug. We ended up paying £50 for 2 glasses of prosecco. That btw happened to others as well. Security was super cool and friendly though. Maybe they should have worked the bar/service

Got married here and had a great experience from the start. Recommended by Beverley Wilson florist (preferred supplier for the venue), it did not disappoint. Thanks to Paige who's been incredible in ensuring the day ran smoothly, and making sure we had one of the best days of our lives.

Beautiful house in a lovely setting. Great food, great service and very reasonably priced too. The roast dinner was one of the best as the Yorkshire puddings were enormous!! The sticky Toffee pudding was so light and very yummy 😍😍😋😋

The venue is fine but the event, in my opinion, sold too many tickets, the place was packed, no air con, no open windows, it became unbearable so we had to leave early

We had an amazing day at Belair House for our wedding in September. The team at BH are great to deal with and very responsive to emails and requests. The build up to our wedding was unconventional in a pandemic, but we felt reassured that they were on hand to guide us through the planning process. On the day itself Tasha, Paige & John were simply amazing, they honestly went above and beyond. The day went very smoothly and all the guests were happy all throughout the day. Thank you again all! Cant wait to come back to visit soon.

Beautiful building in a lovely location but not very well looked after. Helpful staff nice buffet. More attention to the surroundings needed. A broken up picnic table at the side of the building spoke of neglect.

We got married at Belair House on Saturday and it was such a wonderful day. The venue and setting are absolutely stunning - just perfect for a wedding. So many guests commented on how lovely the venue was. The food was super delicious and the service was second to none. The months and months of planning was so well organised and Tasha, Paige, John and all the staff were so friendly, professional and accommodating - nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend Belair House and thank you so much to the team who helped us have just the most perfect day.

We wanted to thank Belair House and the manager John for allowing us to use their gorgeous house for our late brothers funeral service on Tuesday, 2 February 2021. What was already a very difficult day was made beautiful by celebrating our brothers life in this perfect setting. John was extremely professional and helpful throughout the day and accommodating from the moment we made contact. We cannot recommend this beautiful venue enough.

A lovely Georgian villa with surrounding park now in the middle of the city, not far from the historic Dulwich village. The house, now a restaurant and event venue, is a bit run down compared to its original intended Adam splendour, but still is in good shape overall. Even in a cloudy day, it is a perfect place for a bit of outdoor activity. The little lake with the ducks is a nice added bonus

Wow what can I say, took some friends from the country down to the actress, which I have not been too sorry in a couple of months, And the menu has changed, we took advantage of knowing a couple of the staff and they recommended we share some dishes, I thought I would of needed more but no the plate size and the recommended sides were just right for four Bruno and Lucy recommended to share, the monk fish, with seaweed may, pastrami board, a club sandwich with a side of chunky and skinny fries, This went down a treat and to be honest my friends were full and tried to order half pints after their food, to which the staff laughed at them until they ordered a full pint Great team and service will def come back sooner rather than later as I saw you still have the sticky toffee pudding on the desserts,
