annoying Making a huge noise at 5am

Busy Central Wetherspoons. Small and compact, but all the usual good value deals on drink and food. Busy always. Students and shoppers. It actually has an upstairs.... All the times I have been here, I have only just found out.

Always a good selection of ales, which are well kept.

A quiet Weatherspoons in Cardiff. Got served quickly at the bar. Nothing particularly architecturaly special. Good prices as always. Didn't try the food here so not able to comment on the quality

Not bad but disappointed to see no steaks or grills listed on the menu. Not run out they just don't do them here. Standard Spoons otherwise.

Called in this morning for breakfast. Enjoyed the breakfast meal. Served by a friendly gentleman who took the order and served the meal. Enjoyed the food items plus a good tea and coffee machine. Will happily return again. Recommend.

Quite a compact 2 storey Wetherspoons I think from an admittedly rather brief visit....a proper traditional pub tavern style spoons!.... a much more modest affair when compared to The Gatekeeper and The Prince of Wales perhaps....but then again why not?!.... certainly a little more bijou maybe!....a more compact inn hostelry type vibe....but certainly plenty of room for dining on both floors....think there is a disabled toilet on the accessible ground floor otherwise one is looking at some stairs to manoeuvre....seems like a nice little spoons as one might say!.... enjoyed a pint of an unusual cherry beer....

Upstairs area is pretty cool, place tends to be very full. I had a waitress that gave superb service yesterday and didn't get her name to thank her. She always made sure we were okay and made my spoons experience a great one. Also drinks are adequately priced.

Great food service and atmosphere

Too full of students especially on weekends. Why when you get a breakfast from spoons the beans are always cold 🥶...

Looking old now and In the wrong part of town. Nothing to rave about after all it is a Wetherspoon's.

I don't care what anyone says about wetherspoons pubs .. as long as you don't pick the busiest times they really do serve excellent ales at ridiculous prices. £1.79/pint today.

It's a Weatherspoons. We were happy with the food & service.

Door man accused me of being drunk as I can't walk straight due to a recent major knee operation. Took our drinks even though I tried to explain my injury. Conveniently forgot to wear his body camera. A bully who thinks it's OK to pick on a disabled man who uses crutches. Was afraid to leave alone had to get the duty manager to walk to my bus stop. D.O.V. 27/12/24.

Spoons have stopped tuna, at least in this branch so 4 stars now 😅

The 1 member of staff (boy whispy upper hair lip spotty face) has no people skills and is incapable of taking a simple food order for 1. Yes, fire him. Multiple times, he has messed up orders, has no customer service skills, and is just terrible at this job. I now eat at Prince of Wales instead of Central

I believe I've received service from the same boy as the last 2 negative responses. Absolutely disgusting the way he's speaking to customers. He should not be working in a customer service environment. Formal complaint raised to head office.

I had lunch here food was what I expected the staff were very friendly and it was a very mixed clientele

Far side of the city, good selection of beers and lagers, you might wait for a while for service at the bar if there are female servers they can be selective on who they serve, I have seen young female servers walk through to the back of the bar when they don't want or think they are too good to serve a specific male customer.

It's a Spoons! You know what you get and you know no one will come back and ask if everything was ok. Lasagne was less crispy on one side than usual. Praise to the 'chef' who must have actually turned it round at least once in the nuclear device that they use. Funny how drinks always turn up just after you've ordered on the app ..

Muy descontento con cómo me habló el chico de aspecto desaliñado que trabajaba en el bar de arriba en 1 / 12 / 24 alrededor de las 5 pm. Subí a preguntar dónde estaba mi pedido, ya que no podía ver a nadie haciéndolo, y casi habían pasado 10 minutos, fui muy educado, solo quería saberlo y él me intentó decir ‘solo han pasado como 7 minutos’ y comenzó a discutir con exigir ver mi teléfono para la marca de tiempo del pedido. Yo era como un amigo que no me importaba, solo preguntaba si las bebidas donde se hacían no podían ver a nadie en el bar. Me senté de nuevo y él procedió entonces a servir a propósito la mesa que me había pedido mucho antes que yo justo cuando había subido y preguntado dónde estaba mi pedido, así que tuve que sentarme y esperar con mi comida enfriándose por mis bebidas. Pasivo agresivo e infantil. No es el tipo de persona que me gustaría trabajar en el servicio al cliente o la hospitalidad. Solo quería notar que esto no tenía nada que ver con la otra chica con el pelo de la espalda trabajando, ella estaba por ahí cuando esto sucedió y era encantadora cuando entregó mi comida. Very unhappy with how I was spoken to by the scruffy looking guy working on the upstairs bar on 1/12/24 at around 5pm. Went up to ask where my order was as I couldn’t see anyone making it, and it had almost been 10 mins, I was very polite just wanted to know and he had a go at me saying ‘it’s only been like 7 mins’ and began arguing with demanding to see my phone for the timestamp of the order. I was like mate I don’t mind I was just asking if the drinks where being made cus I couldn’t see anyone at the bar. I sat back down and he then proceeded to purposefully serve the table that ordered way after me before me just as I’d gone up and asked where my order was, so I had to sit and wait with my food going cold for my drinks. Passive aggressive and childish. Not the type of person I’d want working in customer service or hospitality. Just wanted to note this had nothing to do with the other girl with back hair working, she wasnt around when this happened and was lovely when she delivered my food. Excellent staff, friendly atmosphere

Came in for lunch today. Manic as usual in there especially as people Xmas shopping. Got our food brought to the table by OWEN, the Shift leader. He was cleaning up, tidying up. He still took the time to see if we are happy with our food. I gave my napkin to the next table as they spilt their drink, within seconds she was handed napkins and me too. We observed him interacting with customers and looking after the place. THIS GUY DESERVES A RAISE!!!!

My son and I had food here on 17/11/24 it was International day. We managed to get a table very quick and we ordered food and within 10-15 mins the food arrived, it was excellent very tasty and hot, Excellent Service and very friendly staff Very pleased and highly recommended 😊

We all know what a Wetherspoon's pub is like but this one did a great job of food, service, speed and quality.

Desayuno en familia antes del rugby. Sirvió bien y caliente y no demasiado tiempo de espera teniendo en cuenta que estaba tan ocupado. Visité de nuevo después del rugby y tenía pescado y patatas fritas que eran muy sabrosos y un buen pedazo de pescado grande también. Buena comida, un poco más caro en un día de rugby, pero todavía vale la pena.

Quick drop in breakfast and pint

You have to love a wetherspoons really. But I come here for food mostly, and it's always fast service and good quality stuff. There's usually one spoons in a place that does the best food and it might just be this one. I recommend the breakfast always. So lush

A lot of the food was off the menu so choice was limited. No atmosphere and not a very welcoming place.

It’s my last day in Wales. I’m having my last lunch at this pub. It’s a place full of happy memories.

It's a spoons: it's not gourmet, but I have zero complaints, thus 5 stars all round. On food and a drink you're looking at <£10.

Tuvimos un tiempo brillante con un montón de amigos en esta cuchara. Tenía un lugar de comida, que era barato y sabroso, pero en su mayoría se alojó para las excelentes bebidas a gran valor. Muchas cervezas por £ 1. 99 , por lo que fue más que feliz de quedarse durante unas buenas horas. El equipo del bar era amable y coloquial. Estaré feliz de volver seguro.

Try to have some sensible person in front. A week before I visited this place and the person in front was extremely rude. Pathetic service.

Awful awful place! Management is shocking! I overheard one member of staff (pictured below) speak to her colleague awfully! They dropped a glass, which smashed, and said to their colleagueto ‘clean it up now’, clicking their fingers, which I overheard. I then politely asked this member of staff to not speak to their member of staff so rudely. Before I knew it I was getting kicked out. This member of staff called over security and told us we were getting kicked out, having my whole drink and my partners drink taken off us, all because I was defending their colleague.

Great place. But some of the younger staff can sometimes totally blank you an serve someone else. That got a weird grasp of cues.

Went to celebrate results day with my friends and the service was amazing!! The food service was really fast and the drinks were also good as well. The waiters followed procedures when serving drinks and they were very nice and professional!! The prices here are reasonable and it is very easy to order food and drinks via the qr code or app ! I would definitely come here again. There were a lot of places to sit too so that was really nice :) The toilets there were very nice and were generally well kept / clean. Overall a very good experience !!

One of the best bars in Cardiff. Really good selection of world beers. Personally, Estrella Galicia is the best larger they got! The new Korean spicy chicken is a must try.

We were let down by the jrc buffet, as we booked by phone but they forgot to tell us they had moved premises, it was for my grandson's 17th birthday, we went to wetherspoons and they were very good as they were busy and there were quite a few of us ,it made my grandson birthday.

Nice pub in the centre of Cardiff, service was quick and the food was OK, staff were friendly so not bad overall. Good value for money. The quantity of food was a bit small. There were AA few noisy locals in but on the whole it was OK.

Orderf steak and chips waited 30 minutes for it to be delivered hat go and ask at the bar to inquire were it was it eventually came a d was told that the man who should have delivered it could not find our table my steak was cold dont think that I will go again. This is an update. we have been to this establishment again, and we have found the food good value with the being very good we we definitely be going back there again 😀

Very busy & noisey in here. Used the app to order drinks and they took 15 minutes to arrive which is ages as the food normally comes out in 8-10 minutes. Sat near the door & tea machine which was a bad move as it was constantly busy. Can't believe how many Wetherspoons are in Cardiff. We counted 9. Couldn't get round them all as we only had a couple of hours spare. We managed 4.

Another oasis in a desert of too many options. You know where you stand with a good old reliable spoons. Except for a few, which hold odd surprises 😮 🤔..
