The Catch Essex in Brentwood

Lovely seafood - whatever I have bought from The Catch is always really tasty. Love their prawns and cockles. Can’t beat it!

Although there are lots of good things to buy, it is definitely difficult to know how and where fish products are sourced. But my biggest issue is with the labelling of their “lobster tails”. This is waaaay to cheap to be real lobster. I’m fairly sure it’s Surimi which is imitation crab and fish bits made to look like lobster. Unfortunately, it has tricked a few people and the mislabelling really needs to be corrected.

Been using the stall for a few months not. Excellent quality and very friendly. A good selection of food and can cook on site for takeaway. Very please and now I am a Weekly customer

As a treat for my husband I purchased some cockles and whelks on my way home from the Brentwood Bay Tree Centre, it didn’t take me long to get home and refrigerate them; my husband enjoyed his treat for a Saturday night tea until he was awoken by his stomach in the early hours of Sunday morning, he was so ill, he was unable to control either end of his body, Don’t think I need to continue with the description other than to write we must have had a dodgy batch! But as the unfortunate experience ruined the rest of his weekend and left him with aches from being violently sick don’t think I can recommend buying the cockles and whelks, if you do, it’s your choice!

Had a Seafood platter delivered to our door today as a surprise treat and it was amazing. All very fresh and delicious made a lovely change for a Saturday evening feast. Would gladly have this again may add oysters next time....yum xxx

Very friendly people, awesomely fresh seafood Visited while out shopping a while back and had fresh oysters and a hot seafood platter Then ordered recently a big platter with oysters & Lobster Perfectly presented and ready to eat (lobster, oysters,crab opened ready to eat) A++++++

The owner gets his food fresh from Billingsgate market and it really shows. I've visited many restaurants in the Essex and London area and this tops them all.

Just what Brentwood needed! I had a mixed seafood platter for 1 which was around £9 it had a good selection of classic seafood. I Also tried some of their hot food BEST CALAMARI Iv had, My friends son also had some cod bites which looked delicious. Thanks The Catch looking forward to my next visit can’t wait to try the kebabs!

Visited The Catch today for the first time and must say the food was fantastic, Will definitely be back. I had the platter which consisted of tempura prawns, calamari, scampi, cod bites and a sweet chili & mango prawn. Top quality food, cooked on the spot all for a fiver - best lunch I’ve eaten in Brentwood for a long time. Not easily pleased and can usually find something to moan about but this place is top of my go back list! Great menu, looking forward to trying some more dishes. Great food, quick service, friendly staff, extremely reasonable price, what more could you ask for

Fantastic food ,we had the grilled sea bass which I would recommend , the cockles best I’ve had and mussels are first class . Well done lads

Visited The Catch at the weekend travelled 30 mins and can honestly say it was the best I have tried was not disappointed. I tried the Cajun spiced salon with lemon and parsley rice highly recommend trying the special hot dishes. Took away a platter for my family they have all comment how nice it was. Amazing service and quality food looking forward to returning. Highly recommend!

Really enjoyed the food from The Catch, tried their hot freshly cooked meals which were delicious, would expect to receive this at a restaurant. Also took away some monk fish & prawns which we bbq'd which was 10/10. Great service, would definitely recommend & we will be back!

Popped to the Baytree and come across The Catch Essex. We had some seafood and was pleasantly surprised. Food was very fresh & will definitely be back next week.

Visited these guys last Thursday after seeing them on Facebook. Tried their Garlic & Chilli King Prawns and was so nice. Polite staff and very clean food stall. Would highly recommend.
