I went along to the annual fund raising car show, taking my 25 year old MX5 to show. The event was very popular and the pub heaving👍. There was a BBQ and live band in the pub garden. The car show was taking place on a large field to the rear of the pub. It looks to be a very popular community pub in the village of Little Wakering. Will go again next year.

Visited the Castle Inn by chance. The sun was shining, and there were people sitting outside. We popped into the bar area, which had a pleasant atmosphere and was clean and sparkling, ordered our drinks, and decided to look at the menu. Liver and bacon was on the menu.... We were hooked! We waited around 35 minutes which suited us as we sat outside. We ate inside. The meal was piping hot...it was delicious! The service was great, the management were friendly and welcoming. We recommend you visit this lovely village pub, you won't be disappointed.

A proper village community pub that's also a welcoming place for visitors and their dogs from beyond the village boundaries. Great food and a good selection of drinks. Quiet garden space and close to some good dog walking paths.

It was our first time at the castle pub I made a last minute booking for my daughters 21st birthday and the staff honestly could not do any more , they made us all feel like family , they even put a balloon on the table, came out with a cake and sparkler and gave my daughter a present and a card , the food was amazing and so was the atmosphere , we will definitely be regulars from now on..... would have given them more stars if I could, proper family pub and to top it off dogs are welcome to.... absolutely love this little gem of a place !!

Great friendly pub with home cooked wholesome food (really recommend their chips!), dog friendly. Food portions and quality has always been really good. Highly recommend for anyone nearby with their dogs

Always a pleasure dining at the castle lucky to have this place on our doorstep.

My best friend and I called in for lunch and a catch up after a while away. It was just as brilliant as we’d remembered. Although a cold and rainy day, we had a warm welcome, massive plate of beautiful food! Still full up tonight! Great service … will be back soon.

Have been past the Castle many times, so today after taking our 3 dogs on a long walk over Wakering Common, we decided to pop in after finding out if the pub was dog friendly. We were given a table in the snug right by the window which was lovely. We were made to feel so welcome and the food was absolutely gorgeous. Thank you so very much to you all, we will definitely be back. Thank you once again. X

Up to there usual high standards

My wife, our son and I were shown to our table with a birthday balloon in the centre vase and a happy birthday banner on the wall by our table. I did not ask for anything when booking, just said as it was my wife’s birthday and I needed to ensure there was a free table. We enjoyed some really delicious food with excellent service. Much to my surprise after dessert the waitress came forward bearing a birthday cake with a firework candle in the middle, plus a small bag of presents. The whole restaurant sang happy birthday, much to my wife’s delight. Congratulations to The Castle Inn on making a really good meal into a very memorable and special one for my family.

Great meal just before Christmas very cosy staff very good nothing was too much trouble, I had whitebait to start lovely then mails I had the steak pie lot of meat and puff pastry top no bottom but hey ho can't please everyone but very nice.

I came today had fish n chips, it was full of bones, the chips were delicious I’m so disappointed as the food here is always excellent It has put me off having battered fish again, my husbands lasagna was beautiful but so many bones in the fish put me off. I found at least 15 bones, please can you re check the fish for bones before cooking. We was in a hurry or I would of said about the bones, apart from the bones the food was lovely

Visited 15th October,2nd visit to this pub, last minute booking for lunch, absolutely beautiful food, the portions sizes are great, well worth the money, well sized roast dinner just over £12, Michael and his team were very welcoming well worth the visit, we will definitely be going back

Had a meal here yeaterday with friends. Very impressed with the friendly service and even more impressed with the Vegan Burger!! very tasty, well presented and nice sized portion. Very comfortable place to come, clean and a relaxed atmosphere, what I appreciated was we didn't have to wait long for our food to arrive, which was nice and hot! Dedinitely be back!

We visited for a Sunday lunch. Bit stingy on the gravy. It was average in regards of Sunday lunches. We all agreed it was ok. Service was very good and desserts were nice.

Went to The Castle today and had the steak special for 2 with a bottle of wine cost £28 included, your choice of colour. My wife prefers her steak to be "blue" although no blue button available,they put rare and in comments "rare,rare" My steak I asked for medium rare. My god they were amazing absolutely cooked to perfection. I would thoroughly recommend going too The Castle. What ever meal you order you will have a good meal, plus the beer ain't bad either,the staff are friendly and amazing

Had the 3 course festive meal yesterday at a cost of £29. It was the best I've had in a long time. Defintely worth the money. Portion sizes good and all pipping hot. Service was brilliant. Will defintely go again next year. Thank you

Went to the castle inn for a 60th birthday celebration. Food excellent & service excellent. Staff made it a very successful surprise meal . Would recommend it highly .

Delicious food and a wide selection of classic pub dishes. Can highly recommend the bangers and mash! Friendly service and a place I'd love to come back to. Could do with a bit of renovation and dusting indoors maybe.

Very nice pub in a great location, polite and attentive staff. Ordered "The King of the Castle Burger" Can honestly say it's one of the finest burgers I've ever eaten, make sure you're hungry if ordering though because it's a monster. And you'll want to eat all the onion rings + hand cut chips too.

Booked in advance for Sunday dinner. We all had something different to eat. Food was lovely. Staff attentive and helpful. Very nice place to visit on a sunny Sunday in July after going to the classic car show at Southend sea front 😊

I don't normally write reviews but have been so impressed tonight with the food and service that I felt I needed to. We have just been for dinner to celebrate a family birthday, the staff have really gone above and beyond to spoil the birthday boy. They also took great care of my little girl. Not forgetting to mention the delicious food, clean plates all round!! We will definitely be back. Thank you for a really lovely evening!

Had a lovely lunch at The Castle Inn today. Food was tasty and the service was very good. We will be returning.

Fantastic experience and the food was lovely. We were made to feel very welcome from the moment we set foot inside, we were shown to a table in the restaurant which is very nice. The Castle Inn has a lovely atmosphere and the locals are very friendly. There is an extensive menu with some classics and some unusual dishes to try. Vegetarians are very well catered for. I had a chicken Espedata and the chicken was cooked perfectly fully white but still juicy. From mains to deserts and coffees the staff were attentive but not intrusive and we had a fabulous experience. I would highly recommend a visit to this little gem.

outstanding food, hospitality & atmosphere! I didn't actually want to share as wanted this to be a secret grem, but they need credit for being so great! I've had 2 birthday meals here in the last couple of months, the kind gestures of birthday balloons, & cake is so thoughtful! our food was freshly cooked to perfection, credit to the chef 💖

I would just like too thank The castle pub especially Michael who went above and beyond on the evening of 17th Jan to accommodate my family and myself for my sons birthday 🎂. Michael did us a table of 8 with a birthday balloon and banners and even a beautiful birthday cake. They supplied bubbles for the baby and a gamer word search for my 9 year old. The food was absolutely amazing. 💯 recommend going there. such a lovely atmosphere with friendly attentive staff 😍 Thank you all again Deborah khomri and family

Had a beautiful Christmas Dinner yesterday was cooked beautifully. There were Christmas cards with pens attached with the castle Inn on them for each customer which I thought was a lovely touch. Love this pub it's our local. The staff are so friendly I only hope they hot the tips they deserved yesterday. Thankyou for a lovely dinner

Firstly the food was excellent and staff extremely friendly. We booked for a pre-wedding family dinner and to our surprise the staff decorated the tables with balloons and wedding banners and made such an effort to make the evening special. Can’t thank them enough and highly recommend this pub for something to eat or just drinks.

Lovely relaxed afternoon with 2 friends in the covered area of beer garden .... Food was great, though quite a wait but they were busy and everything was freshly cooked! Can definitely recommend the chicken Estpedatas! ... Our waitress was friendly and helpful... everything reasonably priced too... thank you xx
