Visited 25/8; second visit. No nonsense tea room / cafe. Good selection of dishes / cakes etc at very reasonable prices. Service is good; swift and pleasant. One loo which is adequate.

The staff were lovely and the atmosphere was great the only thing i have to complain about is that it seemed to be quite under staffed and rushed.But the food was so nice and coffee tasted amazing. Well done to the staff working,your doing great !👍🏻

This was our second visit for Breakfast. It was very quiet and the cafe was clean and well presented. Service was very slow for breakfast and unfortunately some of the items were cold when it arrived. They did reheat it but this shouldn’t happen. Such a shame as breakfast is presented nice and comes with drinks. Website prices are incorrect so that needs to be updated.

Disappointing visit. Lacks atmosphere and in my opinion could do with a face lift. Decor somewhat lacking. Tables laid out in rows with old fashioned chairs that you would find in auction house. Staff friendly enough, although apart from one busy working girl the other members did seem to spend more time chatting amongst themselves for all to hear. Why not brighten the tables with multi coloured china to give a better look. Menu very confusing and availability and pricing very unclear. Food average. Tea came in smallish teapot and could only get 1.5 small cups. Not a place I would return to .

The change of ownership has not been positive for this establishment. I understand things change and people do things differently. so I have given things a try three times. I have been disappointed on three occasions. the disco music is just to much and to loud . my food the first time was almost cold. I had to ask for cutlery . ask for condiments. despite the cafe being fairly quiet the wait time for food was long. the second time the board menu had no prices and half the table menu is missing . the staff member couldn't understand me asking can you find out the price please. just completely ignored me asking how much. customers can't order food if you don't know its available and the price. the third occasion has been a mix of the first two visits above. NO ONE HAS EVER ASKED IS EVEYTHING OK WITH YOUR FOOD. On all three visits.

Pleasant tea room with a limited range of cakes. Coffee is sensibly priced at £2.60 (blackboard / £2.40 in menu). Background music was a little out of character? Pleasant service / staff.

Driving through Tewkesbury, I fancied a Bacon Sarnie. The cafe I passed offering breakfast was the Carousel Tea Room. Perhaps I should have been warned when I saw the only people inside were elderly ladies. A Sausage and Bacon Sandwich please. The par cooked sausage came out of a greasy bag half full of Sausages. The bacon was at least fresh but the paper of the thin Savers style. Both were cooked in George Foreman style hot plates. So, one sausage cut in half and two rashers of Bacon frazzled to the texture of shoe leather. Both sausage and bacon were tasteless. A few minutes to floss the bacon shards from my teeth. Surely, a bacon and sausage sandwich should not be that hard!!!

Great little cafe, nicely placed on Tewkesbury. Perfect spot for a tasty brunch. Nice atmosphere andfriendly staff. Recommended.

Me and my husband called for Lunch. Had lovely sandwiches which were fresh and tasty. The staff were friendly and a good choice on the menu

So disappointing & unfriendly….The older woman in there at the counter was so sour and that was after an extended attempt to ignore us - we really felt for the young server lady, she wasn’t being spoken to nicely and looked so unhappy. Have now found out there are new owners and they don’t run it! They need to read these reviews before they wonder why trade is dropping as it was so friendly before. We left without ordering…and we were hungry! Wont be back….& we’re local.

We popped in as we normally do for a treat and unfortunately it is no longer the same. All new staff and different set up. One staff member - an older lady was very rude when taking the order and literally threw the plate on the table when our order came. Could hear clearly the same lady bickering with staff. Not what you want to see or hear. The only friendly member of staff seemed to be a younger lady who was really nice. Not only this, but the cake was a let down and so was the coffee. Really disappointing as we used to love coming in on a Saturday morning after swimming. It also seemed unorganised and untidy. Will need to find a new place to go! Shane as the old staff and set up was great.

Been before but didn’t realise it has new owner and team. The day I went in was quiet only two tables being used but the place was a in disarray . The counter was a mess food all over it lady I think was running it was rude not only to staff but customers . There was only one persons In front of me but after 5 mins hadn’t been served as the gent that looked like he was prepping food was bickering with the lady that worked in there . Sorry had to walk out it was a shamble .

We popped in here for a Cream Tea, and some cakes for the children. It’s such a little gem, with wonderful staff and such great value for money. The manager, Tracy, couldn’t have been more helpful, and the other staff were polite and obliging, I highly recommend paying a visit. A fabulous cup of tea, in proper tea cups, which in my opinion, is exactly how it should be done. Well done Carousel!

We have been coming here for years but unfortunately I think it must have changed hands and has gone rather downhill. We were very disappointed. Firstly we reserved a table. No-one seemed aware and we were told a table of 4 was available. We had the carosel cream tea (had many times before) and there was no egg mayo available which we werent told about when we ordered it, they had to come back over and tell us. The waitress didn't know what kind of cakes were available (and made no effort to find out) so I had to get up, walk over to the fridge, find out and tell everyone back at the table. When the food arrived, all the cakes were paired up with the wrong sandwiches so we had to swap it all around on the stands ourselves. To be fair, the sandwiches were good (which is why I've given this 2 stars). The little touches just aren't there any more either: the cups were all chipped, the sugar cubes and little tongs are gone and replaced with sachets, the staff were not as friendly or helpful as usual, no atmosphere or background music. We all left rather disappointed.

Came here on our first visit to Tewkesbury. Partner and I both had the breakfast and thoroughly enjoy ourselves. Had a nice calm atmosphere and able to have a conversation which isn’t always possible these days. Will be retuning. :)

First visit to the area and stumbled upon this little place for a cuppa and cake. Welcoming staff and it seems a popular place with their reasonable prices. Small inside with people tending not to linger after finishing. Like getting off the ride once done ☺️ For me, the food cake and drinks were just average. Will add a * for the nostalgic decor 🎠

What a lovely quirky place, with old time fairground memorabilia throughout. The owner and the lady working with him were so friendly and took our order even though they were close to closing! The toasted sandwiches were delicious, freshly made and with crisps and a side salad. I did love the tea for two being served in bone china, a lovely touch and there's no doubt it makes the tea taste better! Even the background music was good! If we lived near enough this place would be a regular for sure.

The breakfast was very pricey, the sausage was not edible as the skin was to tough to cut and chew. Very minimal portion size. However the shop is very quaint and busy

Amazing cup cakes for Hubby's 70th birthday. They were so light and fluffy with 2 flavours, chocolate and vanilla. The toppings melted in your mouth would definitely recommend the Carousel Tewkesbury you local cake maker 😀

Pedí 2 sándwiches para llevar desde aquí una tarde para recogerlos a las 9 am de la mañana siguiente para un viaje hacia Cornwall. Tocino, queso brie y salsa de arándanos sobre pan de granero. Estaban listos y esperándome a la mañana siguiente, empaquetados y en un portaequipajes. Más que gratamente sorprendidos cuando llegamos a comer: la caja contenía cubiertos desechables, ensalada, patatas fritas y una servilleta de papel. Mejor aún, ¡los sándwiches estaban deliciosos! Disfrutamos tanto entonces, los pedimos nuevamente en nuestra visita de regreso, para nuestro viaje de regreso a casa y también estaban tan deliciosos esa vez. Como regalo, también comimos un pastel, ¡también delicioso!

I usually go to Carousel for coffee, cake and toasted sandwiches. I was so pleased when I saw they were locally delivering sweets from their shop. Ordered online received the same day :)

Fabulous tea room situated in Tewkesbury high street with wonderful staff, fabulous Crocker and delicious food! I was lucky enough to visit this cafe with my mum and we are so glad we did! I would definitely nately highly recommend this tea room for any weary traveller in need of tea, cake or any other refreshments! Hope to visit again soon if we ever find ourselves in Tewkesbury again! :D

Visited for lunch today, lovely atmosphere, plenty to pick off the menu as a vegetarian. Decided on the soup which was very tasty and served with fresh granary bread. My son can highly recommend the milkshakes made from local ice cream and offering a fantastic selection. Will be visiting again!

We dropped in here on a hot September afternoon (it was!). We only had teacake and a cold drink but we were served by the most friendly quiet and gentle folk ever. The teacake was generous in size and not toasted to death.

As a local resident, visited here for the first time, with a relative. We both ordered soup of the day, which was actually the only soup option available - one with toast and one with a cheese scone. Disappointed wiith quality of soup, which was a bit tasteless, lacked seasoning as well as adequate stock, was watery and was a small portion for the price. The cheese scone was a bit undercooked and was reheated. Disappointed we didnt complain at the time and sent the soup back. Sorry I am reluctant to visit again due to quality of food and value for money, both lacking.

Great day out in Tewkesbury including afternoon tea and sandwiches in the Carousel where we received a really nice welcome. Not only did they serve loose leaf tea in a tea pot but I got three cups from the pot. That's what I call value for money and it tasted absolutely great as well.

We go here regularly when we are in Tewkesbury as it is always clean and tidy, the staff are friendly, the service is good and the food is fresh.

What a find, the place served lovely fresh food and excellent drinks, Mother had an old fashion lemonade and was thrilled, I had a milkshake, lovely, and the toasted sandwiches were great. Leaving, as Mother paid, I chose a selection of old fashioned sweets, memories and great tastes. The staff were very friendly and we had a laugh as they were very relaxed and friendly, pay this place a visit, well worth it.

I had an hour or so free and wanted to spend some time reading and enjoying a cup of tea. The Carousel staff are very friendly, orders are supplied promptly and the menu was varied enough for all.

Called in for lunch on a busy day out. Very charming owner seated us quickly and pleasant staff served us quickly. The only quibble is the menu isn't great for a large lunch, more snacky but when the toasties came, they were lovely. Beautiful cakes and scones. Lovely and clean inside and very well frequented by the locals. Highly recommended.

Have had lunch here on various occasions. Lunch is based on homemade soup and sandwiches, which are always delicious. The owners and staff are always friendly and eager to help. Delicious cakes are always available as are scones both savouryand sweet. The teas are served in an assortment of pretty bonechina crockery , hence the reference to MissMarple! No loud music, a really lovely ,old fashioned (in a good way) tea room at the back of a wonderful sweet shop, bet you won’t be able to resist buying some on the way out!

This is by far the loveliest and friendliest little coffee shop I have ever been in, my daughter had the homemade almond slice while my father and I had the homemade scones, it's also a nice little sweet shop, the owners are so friendly and very lovely thank you we had a lovely time.

We called into this little sweet shop and tea parlour last week. Very pleasant owners. We had tea and toast early one morning and very pleasant to have a nice china tea cup and saucer. We decided later on to have our lunch there which was also very good. Would certainly recommend this tea shop.

We stopped here for a cup of tea while visiting Tewkesbury and were pleased we did. Nice a traditional service at the table, well presented tea and cakes. The shop also sells traditional (in a jar) sweets and a few gifts. Very pleasant surroundings in which to chill.

We ate snacks in this tearoom more than once on holiday recently. The staff were friendly and the food reasonably priced and very good quality. Our grandchildren enjoyed the milkshakes and the food. Will be back next time we are in the area.

Necesitaba tomar un café rápido mientras yo estaba en la ciudad. Así llegué, que iba a ser un café rápido tomar y ejecutar, convertido en una taza de té y un sándwich. Es pintoresco, el personal era muy amable. (Estoy de acuerdo con Carlos C este me llevó atrás en el tiempo). Que es un lugar precioso para sentarse y llevar la sonrisa a los cara. El servicio y la comida deliciosa. La variedad de dulces, ah, sí bien no gastar una pequeña fortuna cuando me fui en un montón amores y galletas para los amigos y la familia.

Tipo de café muy viejo bar de leche que recuerdo mis primeros años, muy auténtico. Personal muy amable y servicial, había mucha variedad de tés y cafés, etc. Me gusta su foro, la opción de inicio hizo golosinas en ofrece realmente necesitas disaplin como querrás...

Mejor té que he tenido durante años, mi esposa tenía un café, que era magnífico los bocadillos eran una verdadera delicia. El servicio era muy, muy bueno, discreto pero atento. Todo estaba tan bien que volvimos dos días fi ltro.

Bueno pequeña tienda té/confiteros, situado en la calle alta en Tewkesbury. Buen menú, tartas indulgente y excelente té todo servido en tazas de té y real china teteras de China. La cinta hace un breve descanso en un té de lujo.

Having been here before we called in for a drink and a snack not realising it was almost closing time. Nothing was said about this by the very friendly lady who happily served us with a good pot of tea and very good tea cakes. A lovely clean independent cafe, exceptional service and good quality cakes.

Had the worst coffee I have ever had. Granddaughter had chocolate cake and hated it. This is the only coffee shop I know that gives you a bottle of coke without a screw top. That means yo either drink it or leave it awful.

Very clean friendly cafe and confectionary shop .Good quality basic cafe food items on the menu toaties , cream teas etc etc etc but nothing that different. Would have given 5 stars if more variety was on menu and I had a chipped plate :(( recommended overall though .

We visited the Carousel for a tea break and were pleasantly surprised by the fantastic service and the quality of home baked goods on offer.I would highly recommend if you want afternoon tea in classic surroundings with fantastic service and a great choice of home baked goods.

Popped in here for some chocolate goodies for Christmas.They have an astonishing range and I was able to buy some very nostalgic tree decorations,all reasonably priced.

Had a cream tea. Managed to get 3 cups out of a 1cup pot Tiny little scones but very tasty, warm and freshly made. Delicious! The sweet shop is amazing. So much choice.

Loved The Carousel found it when we were looking to have a morning coffee and so glad we did perfect little cafe serving a good flat white coffee much nicer than one of the chains

Visited for a light lunch - nothing was too much trouble. Good selection of lunch items as well as cakes. The food was tasty and well served. I can only drink decaffeinated coffee and all too often it is tasteless but theirs is excellent. Bill was much lower than expected. Highly recommended.
