I recently had the pleasure of visiting Cardinals Error in Tonbridge, and it was an incredible experience! Really lovely country pub to go to on a sunny afternoon. We would have stayed longer, however bar staff were both on their breaks so couldn't get any service.

14th century pub I believe, very nice staff and great service and atmosphere didn't Try the food but will do next time.

I have become a Wednesday regular! Always a friendly welcome with a proper pub feel. We particularly enjoy the Heineken in chilled glasses. Child friendly and dog friendly. I have not tried the food hence no rating for that. I am looking forward to Christmas because the lovely lady landlord always makes an effort with decorations, Halloween was a particular highlight! So nice to go somewhere that has the old school charm of a proper English pub.

Excellent pub with friendly staff, and a very welcoming atmosphere! Being one of the few pubs in Tonbridge I had yet to visit I leaped at the chance to have a family evening here. Lots of space for everyone to sit around and catch up, and there was a play area outside for children to run around in. Good selection of drinks at very reasonable prices, and there is food served too. Darts and pool are available, as well as fruit machines and a jukebox to put on your own music! Supposedly haunted too which would make The Cardinals Error a must visit pub for any would-be ghost hunters.

Enjoyed a couple of pints and some food with my family. Will definitely come again.

Friendly staff. Had a quick pint whilst picking up a Greek food order to takeaway. Would be happy to go back again for both a drink and the food.

Minus 1 star ! Had a meal. Poor quality . Overpriced. Prebooked and so disorganised. No pudding as forgot to shop then couldn’t be bothered. Kids were eventually told to sit down and stop playing in the garden !! Never go there again . 19 people disappointed…..

Lovely old pub to look at both inside and out with a big beer garden, ideal for the one day each year when the sun shines and you don’t need to go to work (or mow the lawn, mend a fence or any other tedious order from the wife). We dropped in on a Saturday afternoon and it was a bit quiet which is sad for what could be very lively pub, presumably the locals are too busy shoplifting in Sevenoaks, or honouring a VO at Sheppey. Usual selection of drinks, and food is apparently served on a Sunday lunchtime. Read some of the typical fictional history up on the walls about ghosts etc. Truth is, it used to be a farm until the turn of the last century, but there’s no harm in pleasing the gullible.

Welcomed by a roaring fire so made the pub feel cosy. Good service. Good beer

Lost its ancient charm with too many screens and modern paraphernalia

I was heading to the bathroom in the pub and I see someone walking into the men's bathroom before me I didn't take any notice, but then I walked into the bathroom 3 seconds after and no one was in there! Definitely haunted but an amazing pub

This is a looovely english country pub. Plenty of choice as far as beer and larger... a loovely big garden to enjoy the summer. Staff were excellent
