Table booked for 5:30 . Early so not many people in restaurant. Food v.good service v.good.

We go to the Digby quite often & are always please with the food & service etc

Had a lovely after birthday meal, service was fantastic, staff helpful and considerate. Food was delicious and great portions.

Lovely pub/restaurant situated in beautiful settings overlooking the beach. Friendly welcoming staff and great food & service.

Highly recommended! Food absolutely impeccable, staff are very friendly and kind. Very child friendly, there is a big soft play and an outdoor playground, great space for a drink or dining outside too, beautiful views of the sea and the beach. Perfect also for couples, we had a lovely time.

My best friend drove down from Surrey yesterday with a request that we dine at the Digby. From entering, we were noticed. Staff smiled and said Hi, then the manager Immediately took charge with banter and smiles. We were seated at a lively window seat. From then on it ran like clockwork. Drinks order. Drinks served. Food order taken. Food served. Sauces asked and given. Food was so good. I could not stop eating. Hot, fresh and full of flavour. It was huge, and then the veg came. Wow. With just enough room to share a banana waffle I cannot tell you enough, it was perfect!

Always an excellent meal and the staff are so friendly & helpful. The scenery is stunning.

Staff are excellent very professional food was good

Terrible service. We were there on a busy Saturday night plenty of staff on who were more interested in chatting and having a laugh together than taking our order and collecting our drinks. Food was very good, would've expected a hirer level of service for the price we paid. We enjoyed the food but won't go here again on a weekend.

My chicken burger was supposed to come in brioche bun but it was ordinary bun which was very dry. Staff said they had delivery problems & could only supply a vegan brioche which was brought to me half way through meal. Very disappointed.

Fab spot to sit outside & look out to sea. Enjoyable for brunch, lunch or dinner or a glass of wine to enjoy the sea air and cliff top views. Good old pub grub with lovely staff. Value for money Great location

What a great family venue. Great food, beautiful views, happy and vibrant environment. The kids loved the play area and the food was very reasonable.

Its all about location, In this case it sits on top of the cliffs and overlooks a bay so the views are impressive. The prices seem to reflect this as well , though the food which is not fine dining is never the less still pleasant enough.

We had lunch, which was enjoyed by us all. The SERVICE was good and the food portions were more than adequate between us we had the smoked salmon, fish and chips, steak and ale pie, and the liver and bacon. Our little GROUP go out locally each month for a lunch and I think we will be adding this as one of our places to visit again.

We all enjoyed our meal at Captain Digby. The service was excellent. One meal was late being served and we were not charged for that particular part of the meal. This was much appreciated. We had a lovely sea view. I would recommend.

Service a little slow but restaurant was quite full. Otherwise excellent.

Had a brilliant meal last Sunday. As I'm a oap I couldn't manage normal size of Sunday roast, so was very pleased that I could have a smaller plate! Staff very helpful and attentive, will definitely come again.

Great situation, we had a table overlooking the sea. The staff were outstanding as was the food. Value for money was amazing. The only slight criticism was the noise level with small children.

The food and service were excellent and very good value for money

Although restaurant wasn't busy service was slow, had to wait in waiter to reappear from lower level to order. Even though they were supposed to be working upper level. Food was hot and filling, although starter was slightly over cooked. We were seated right next to another full table, when the restaurant was empty, considering half the reason we pick this place was for sea view, we weren't sat anywhere near the window.

Unfortunatly food was burnt and cold. Service OK etc

Haven’t been there before , the food was very good and great value for money . The sun was out and it was lovely looking out at the sea. Will definitely be going back.

Value for money could better. I had a chargrilled chicken salad for my main which comprised of lettuce, caesar sauce, chicken, red onions and croutons for approximately £15. I forfeited on the onions and it wasn’t the best, I still felt unsatisfied after eating it, I think the ingredients have been tweaked as this is one of my favourites, it has definitely had items reduced. Some items on the menu are better value than others.

Very good value for money. Ordered cheesy garlic bread to go with seafood linguine and there were 4 very large pieces! The seafood linguine was very nice, although I couldn't see much hake. I was too full to have dessert but will definitely be eating there again. Very good menu with lots of choice.

The girl serving us spent most of her time pulling down her rather short skirt, staff did not look like they wanted to be there and after waiting 55 minutes for food with a 16month, I was ready to go home. The food arrived and it was lovely but the wait for the food, ridiculous.

The food was good as always and the team friendly. The service was a little slow inside, but then it was the hottest day of the year and it was very busy on the outside tables, so staff can't be everywhere. Well done to the team 👍

No one served us when we sat down, I had to get someone. We waited a long time for our food but no apology or warning it would take that long, we had two small children with us getting very hungry. Drinks took a long time, I then received the wrong drink. My son’s sausages arrived RAW!!!! No discount or removal of item on bill. It was so late when we left and had to get back to London I didn’t want to bring anything up as we just wanted to leave.

It was mid August. Due to the carpark being let out to beach goers parking was difficult. My husband ordered the vegan burger and chips. Very poor quality. Could have got similar quality at a seafront cafe. Disappointed. We've eaten here many times and enjoyed it but not this time

Very busy, but was seen to quickly . There was a mistake with our order which resulted in two of our group(out of 4) getting there meals and eating whilst ours was being rectified and cooked. Very busy and noisy but it was a pleasant family meal and atmosphere.

We were welcomed and shown to our table promptly, the waitress took our orders and the meals were delivered within a reasonable time. There were 5 of us, 3 had steak which was cooked as requested, one had a curry which was plentiful and tasty, the other had steak & ale pie with jacket potato, the pastry was fluffy and full of meat, the jacket was soft and fluffy, so overall we all enjoyed our meals and will definitely be returning, also btw we had a fab sea view too!

Beautiful 'oldy-worldy' pub in a beautiful, beachside location. Super friendly staff. Spotlessly clean. Delicious food and a great range of drinks. They also allowed us to park in the car park before they opened .

Mostly good or better as usual Unfortunately completely forgetting an order for a second drink is not forgivable. Service is what the hospitality industry is about.

The Captain Digby is very close to my parents care home so we tend to eat there fairly often. It’s always a pleasure to eat here. The staff are always delightful & go above and beyond. The food is always consistently good. If the weather is good we can eat outside with the lovely view of the beach. I would thoughtfully recommend The Captain Digby

Good food and lovely staff as usual, very busy so quite noisy as this is a popular family pub but enjoyed meal and chose to sit outside after with a glass of wine and beer to finish off the evening

The ambience, service and choice of menu are good, but the steak, ale and onion pie is a great dish for which I shall be returning whenever in the area. The pie element is so deep and the ingredients so attractive that it would come in the 'top ten' of my restaurant meals consumed in a lifetime of over 80 years. I will be back!

We chose to dine at the Captain Digby as we've visited before and always had a wonderful time. We were entertaining family who were staying in Broadstairs, so the location was perfect. We all enjoyed a fantastic meal and would definitely recommend others to visit. The food and service are excellent and the location amazing. Arriving early; we spent some time walking between the three bays, that are close by. All in all, a fabulous time was had. We'll be visiting again soon.

Great location, had a seat by the window, my roast took about 40 minutes to come out but was worth waiting for, and plenty of it Would recommend,

Food and atmosphere was great unfortunately the only let down was the waiting time just over an hour waiting for starters but apart from this highly recommend trying

The food was great. All four of us had different main courses and thoroughly enjoyed them. My husband had the steak pie which was full of meat and he found it too much! You'd need a really good appetite to eat it all. The service was friendly and efficient. The only downside was the price of the drinks.

This is a lovely spot, atmospheric with fabulous sea views and food to match. The cod was perfectly cooked and chunky with crisp on the outside and soft on the inside chips - perfect. The liver and bacon was superb well cooked with lots of gravy. Forget school days this was thinly sliced and perfectly cooked. Deserts the cheesecake was perfect and the Splice the main brace unimaginable tasty. Very good selection of beers and wine. Staff were helpful and cheerful. A memorable meal. Thank you.

We have been to the Captain Digby many times, it never fails to provide great food and great service. Would recommend to book in advance as when we went they were turning people away because they were fully booked

We loved our 1st time visit and will come again, looking at a Sunday for the roast. Staff where lovely and nothing was to much trouble we have a fussy eater and vegetarians and all where accommodated 😃

Food was amazing as ever but service slow and trying to pay the bill was a nightmare as couldn’t get anyone’s attention for at least 20 mins

Good place for groups and families very reasonable prices

We had to wait a very long time for our drinks and an hour for our food. When the food came the fish was over cooked and 2 of the dishes were swamped in a thick stoggy tasteless sauce which would have been better served on the side. We complained but nothing was offered off our bill or even a drink as a form of compensation.

Lovely location, great staff but sadly on this occasion my friends chicken was dry. Previously food always excellent. Staff did offer new one but friend just ate a little. They kindly give her pudding and coffee complimentary. Will not stop me going there.

Food was ok. 8 of us eating and 2 didn’t enjoy their food. Kids pizza was like a microwave one. Messed up 2 peoples order so the rest of the table had nearly finished by the time their food came. Very busy and ridiculously loud. Hard to chat with the noise volume. Staff were ok but run off their feet so not very attentive. Wasn’t asked if food ok mid-meal or asked about extra drinks etc. Better places to eat with better atmosphere for the similar priced pub food

We booked a table for 6 adults and 2 children. The play area was well received by both. Our food was delicious, I had a wonderful goats cheese and onion salad. We all had good service and we would definitely eat here again.

Even though we had to travel 1.5 hours, It was recommended to us we visit and we're glad we did. The staff were very friendly and the food was stunning. Good sized portions and piping hot. We didn't feel rushed at all. We will definitely be returning

Fish batter was thick wet and pappy. Linguine prawns tiny and bullet hard.3 mussels in dish that were overcooked. One tasted particularly odd. Very disappointed. Waste of £60.

We had a lovely meal delicious food and the staff were very friendly, we were delighted to see balloons on our table for our anniversary.

A lovely meal as usual, though the steak was a little tough, still enjoyable, still love coming here, especially where it’s situated on top of the cliffs with lovely views. Service was as good as ever

Excellent food, lovely staff and if you have kids, a safe and fun place they can play whilst you eat. This gives stressed out parents a chance to unwind.

The restaurant was only one third full. Surprising perhaps for a sunny Saturday. But that helped the service to be quick. It also kept the noise level down. There was space in the car park too. The food was of good standard

Always love it here, food was good but the liver was quite tough, however they sorted it out straight away. We booked for Sunday lunch and are back again for our lunch on Monday , we will be back again!!

Our party of 7 including a 3 year old were made welcomed fron the offset, our seating was spot on, service was 5*, food was fantastic and big portions. Could not fault our visit at all.

Sam and his staff are fantastic , friendly and very professional the food is great we love it there and would recommend it , our family love it too as they are very child friendly having a play area and crayons etc for little ones. we have enjoyed many a birthday there and will continue to look forward to our visits there

Family friendly at its best. The waiting staff were all amazing, nothing was too much trouble for them. The play area for children is perfect and we won't hesitate to return.

Great menu super hosts. The steak and ale pie is excellent as is the warm goats cheese salad. The chef has made some very consistent high quality food on all our visits.
