Great pub, good selection of beer and wine. Food is actually delicious so recommend this one for an easy night out without expectations!

Had the Spanish tapas menu item. Tomatoes on toast in English. The tomatoes had no seasoning and were just mashed. They were so cold and so unappetising it sent a chill down me. The only ice thing on the plate was the tosted bread

This pub sells a nice paella on weekends. They also have live music on a few week days (check their events). I also like their beer garden.

We enjoyed our stay at the Captain Cook very much! The owner and staff are helpful and kind, the room was excellent, and the food was so good! We will definitely return!

One of our favourite pubs in the area. Great selection of drinks and a lovely atmosphere. The food is also superb, particularly the tapas!

Took my mother for mother day 2024. We had the tapas selection and was really tasty. Service was nice and polite. Good came in good time. I would highly recommend this establishment for a local tapas and none that commercial stuff. This is very authentic.

This is a great pub (I didn't realise it's also a hotel). Really nice inside and good service. They also have Heineken Zero on tap, which is great if you are driving.

Well, we went in the Captain Cook today for a roast dinner. It was excellent: service was top-notch, the food was pronto & piping hot, perfect, All good!

I love this place. I choose it over other hotels because of the lively atmosphere, any day of the week. It’s perfect for short business trips. Food is pretty good, mostly spanish tapas and some GB classics, but done nicely. The staff is helpful, attentive and fun. The quality of the food was a notch above the usual gastropub, with an original menu inspired by Spanish cuisine, fair prices, and the warm, relaxing atmosphere of a local pub - the loudest group was definitely ours with our four children! Highly recommended.

Gran lugar con una buena ubicacion fuera del centro pero lo suficiente cerca para moverte en metro/bus en un tiempo razonable. La parada del bus esta en la puerta del hotel.

Only eaten there but everytime exceptionally friendly accomodating been there 10 times. One time booked for 4 people we turned up as 6 and nothing is a problem. Food always good whether it's tappas or Sunday lunch.

During our stay in room 6, we encountered a bad smell upon arrival, which I would describe as resembling wet dog. Unfortunately, this odor persisted throughout our stay. However, the host was welcoming and kind. The room itself was warm and equipped with a radiator that we could control. The bed was comfortable, and the linen was clean. The TV was conveniently positioned on the wall at the end of the bed. One minor issue was that the toilet brush had no handle. Despite the smell, the overall experience was quite convenient. Parking was easy and available on Varna Road, where you could pay using the RingGo app. The parking duration was limited to a maximum of 8 hours, allowing for an all-day stay. Additionally, it was an easy 20-minute walk to the Hammersmith Apollo. In the past, we had visited this place for a Sunday roast, which was really good!

Excellent sized clean rooms. Lovely big and clean bed, which was very comfortable. WiFi available within room. Shared toilet and shower lovely and clean. Stay twice within a week of each other with 1 of my daughters each trip. Close to bus routes, tesco few minutes up the road.....had a lovely comfortable stay would highly recommend

Stayed for one night to go to a show at Hammersmith. We had a nice well presented room at the top of the building, check-in was easy at the bar and then the manager took us to the room explaining everything we needed. Staff very friendly and helpful. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Toiletries included in the shower. Room was clean, good size with an en suite loo and shower. I was concerned it would be noisy from the street but had a great nights sleep, bed was very comfy. There is not much clothes hanging space, it didn’t effect us but if you were staying for longer it may. We had a meal and some drinks in the pub downstairs. The tapas was amazing as good as I’ve had in Spain, delicious! Nice range of beers on tap, large range of wines and gins. Parking was on the street, pay on phone or app but free after 5pm and all day Sunday. 10 min in cab to Hammersmith and we walked back in 25 mins at the end off the night, also on bus routes. Will stay again when visiting the area as opposed to chain hotels.

This pub is a great find. Superb atmosphere, great food and fantastic staff. Tapas is off the chart.

We were here for lunch and drinks. It was not a good experience. It wasn't just one thing, but several things combined to make it the last time to go to this pub. The service staff is inattentive. Every single time we had to flag them down to wait on the table. Totally disorganised, it looked like they were either understaffed or under-trained or both. It was like watching a car crash over and over again. It was already mid-afternoon and we were hungry or else would have simply left and gone elsewhere. When the food arrived finally, the potatoes were cold and stale. We let the staff know and they made a fuss about changing them arguing they were fresh. One friend asked for salad instead of fries and they said "no substitutions" but we can bring you a side salad at extra cost. So they couldn't just put a small portion of that same side salad onto the main plate instead of the fries? All that was needed were a few lettuce leaves and a chopped-up tomato, however, this seemed to overwhelm the server who decided it simply could not be done because their rules said not to do it. Reminded me of the Soup..... from an old Seinfeld episode. You had to "exactly follow his rules" while ordering or there was "No soup for you". The asparagus they served up was limp and soggy, and wilted from overcooking. The roast beef portion is small so are the burgers but we were hungry so didn't bother to ask knowing how reluctant they were to make the customers happy. Their cash machine was "broken" (they had only 1 ?) so every one of us had to get up and go to the bar separately to pay - what a joke! They would not let our two other friends who had walked in join us at the table and made them sit separately because according to the management, it was not how they do things. Giving Seinfeld vibes again. Poor and unfriendly service, undertrained millennials running the place. Not once did they apologise for anything. The staff and management make customers feel They are Doing Us a favour by letting us eat there. Trust me, this is the kindest review I could write about this place. Our experience was terrible. We are spoilt for choice in London. Lots of great places to go to and will definitely never be returning to this place.

I work for a Spanish food and wine company and The lady I usually deliver to is absolutely beautiful her boss is very friendly and have never had a problem there sometimes it is busy but the atmosphere is great definitely check it out 👍🏾

There are more positives than negatives, nice large room with en suite and very large comfortable bed , close to road but not too noisy. Decor in places is tired and a real niggle for me was out of date milk sachets! Service was excellent, the Manager/Owner was very helpful and the bar/restaurant was great. Better location if you want West London so easy for River and Wimbledon rather than central London. If we had to be around Fulham again would certainly return😀

Stayed for a weekend to see Micky Flanagan and Shirley Valentine. Located further west than we normally would but transport links great. Glad we did as have paid similar / Higher prices for some real dives in London. This was a great value apartment and the pub downstairs was very inviting and did great food also. Would loved to have tried more of the Tapas menu but had events pre booked. Will defiantly stay again

Excellent Pub lovely warm welcome when we arrived. The menu was excellent Tapas on one side and traditional on the other and Pealla on a seperate menu. The food was very well cooked and i enjoyed a small Tapas while the other two i was with had a Pealla. Everyone enjoyed there food. Service was excellent. We will deffinitley come back again

We are regulars at the Captain Cook, and for good reason. It’s the best pub in the area, with incredibly friendly and helpful staff who are so welcoming of our two-year-old daughter, and delicious tapas and Sunday roasts. Perfect for all occasions, from lazy weekend lunches to evening drinks.

The best roast I have had in London, and I’ve been to a lot! The lamb was amazing! It was lovely to have the veg firm and not soft and sloppy. The gravy tasted amazing. First time here and already booking for next Sunday. The pub itself is beautiful. Full of little lights and lovely decor. Has a really nice feel to it.

Amazing food with super incredible personal service don’t often come in the same sentence in London but they do here! Made to feel like a regular in what must be the best tapas restaurant in London! Still dreaming of the mussels and ham croquettas, I cannot wait to be back!

Iv gone to many different restaurants and have eaten many different foods but none compare to the food Iv eaten here time and time again the food never disappoints. The staff are wonderful and so polite unlike other restaurants it feels like they actually care. I take my family and friends here and they also love it. I wrote this review right after eating this burger and I can say for 100% certainty this is the best burger I have ever had and I can sadly say that about the chicken and veggie burger as well not only is the flavour like a slice of euphoria with every bite but the texture is just the right anoint of tough and moist. If you’re anywhere near the facility of this restaurant I’d highly suggest you try it.

While roaming around the area in search of a pub we came across this hidden gem. Other than a beautifully decorated and cosy interior,the pub features an amazing hidden garden. We had lovely time enjoying the lovely spring weather and we will definitely be back! Ps the garden is also brilliantly sheltered from the wind,couldn't have been better.

Suzie and her team helped me arrange a surprise birthday party at The Captain Cook, and it couldn't had gone better! The team there are all so friendly and all go out there way to help you. The Tapas they serve is delicious, and so reasonably priced. Above all, the atmosphere is great and you can always be guaranteed to have a great night. Thanks Suzie, you are the best!!!

the food is to DIE for and i do not use that term lightly. I would not be surprised if the cook was a Michelin star chef. the staff are wonderful and the the most polite and hard working staff I have ever come across

Sono circa dieci anni che quando vengo a Londra in visita a mia figlia uso dormire in una delle loro stanze. Sono tornata questo anno usufruendo di un credito per la prenotazione del Natale scorso quando era in corso la pandemia. Nessun problema con British Airlines ma molti con la nuova gestione del pub. Dopo la nuova prenotazione avanzavo ancora un credito di 54 pounds che avrei desiderato mi fosse sottratto dalla prenotazione di una notte aggiuntiva che invece mi è stata fatta pagare per intero 91 pounds ed inoltre maggiorata di 20 pounds nonostante sul sito ufficiale piuttosto che su booking la categoria della mia stanza fosse quotata 71 La Owner tale Sue si è rifiutata di parlare con me demandando mi alla Manager che parla un italiano molto povero. La sorpresa è stata che la Owner ha deciso di rimborsarmi la notte aggiuntiva dicendosi offesa dal mio comportamento e mettendomi in mezzo ad una strada l'antivigilia di Natale. Insomma chi viene qui non ha certezze. Il Covid non è e non deve diventare un mezzo per spillare quattrini. Specifico che nel pub non sono rispettate le norme di sicurezza e nessuno indossa la mascherina nonostante la variante Omicron dilaghi in UK. La Owner afferma che loro non indossano la mascherina poiché gli da fastidio . Un posto da dimenticare e direi da evitare.

Roast dinner is delicious! This is the second time we have been (first was with our two young children, this time just us) and again the roast dinner was brilliant. Great portion size and everything cooked beautifully and so tasty. The staff are warm and welcoming and friendly. It has a really nice feel about the place and different seating areas while still feeling open but comfortable. Our go to spot for a roast now! And can’t wait to try the tapas and bring al the family down!

Quite possibly the worst room I’ve ever stayed in - the photographs are not representative of the experience which is dated, dirty and dilapidated and came with the additional ‘extra’ of a cockroach in my glass by the bedside the next morning. The one star is for the staff as they were lovely and tried their best - the pub was ok, average food with a strong smell of grease but very lively. Overall a horrible experience.

Personalmente, no volvería nunca más al Capitán Cook. Vine aquí la semana pasada Muy pobre y extremadamente decepcionado. . Este lugar no tiene un buen servicio al cliente y la comida no es tan buena. La comida que pedimos tardó casi 2 horas en llegar a mi amigo y a mí y cuando llegó, nuestros pedidos estaban completamente equivocados o CRUDOS y tuvieron que ser devueltos, no hubo una explicación real de por qué nuestra comida tomó tanto tiempo o por qué estaba poco cocido. . Ni siquiera estuvo ocupado durante un día laborable.Hablamos con el gerente, pero ignoró completamente nuestra queja y fue extremadamente grosero. Esta no es la forma en que trata a sus clientes que pagan, ¡NO volveré!

What a treasure chest of a find. The room was spotless, warm, well equipped and modern. Although the en-suite is a little on the tight side, it was as clean and modern as the room. The super kingsize bed was comfortable, and had usb bedside charging points. A 4K 36” tv with really fast free Wi-fi. A large office desk and chair to work at as well as two comfortable armchairs and coffee table. The only downside was the steep 26-step wooden staircase to get to the rooms, so no good if you are disabled. The bar and restaurant is very welcoming and is also dog friendly (in the bar area). The food was absolutely fantastic and very well priced, with both a bar and full menu to choose from. I will certainly be staying again when in the area and would recommend it both as an overnight stay or place to meet friends/family for a drink or meal. Great job all at The Captains Cook, Fulham.

Nuestro horario durante una estancia de 3 noches solo nos permitió comer en el bar una vez. My son and I are staying in a room upstairs and ate here on night one. Service was awesome, food was good, and a nice way to end our first day. I would recommend!

Stayed here Sunday as I was working on Monday was greeted at the bar down stairs. All staff was very friendly and nice to talk too. Room was clean and spacious. In a good area of Fulham. Went for a drink Sunday night and they have a good gin selection. Did order a dessert to share like a cookie dough was very nice.

We visited the Captain Cook for their Bottomless Brunch on Sunday. It’s a really good pub. The decor was very older World with huge maps on the walls and boating items dotted around the place very well done. The guy who served us was friendly and explained everything to us. The Brunch was very good you get a pastry and then a choice of either the breakfast menu of various burgers and limitless prosseco for 1 1/2 hours. We had the full English which was absolutely delicious. I would highly recommended the Captain Cook. If you find yourself in the area on a Sunday pop in.

A little bias as it is my local, but wouldn't change it for the world. Always so accommodating and a real hidden gem with their quiet beer garden.

Llevé a mi madre aquí presente el día de la madre (2 meses de retraso y fue jaja) absolutamente increíble. Yo tenía un cupón groupon para un brunch sin fin que salía a 14 libras por persona y era increíblemente buena relación calidad-precio.

A group of 7 of us came here on Saturday 27th May to start the day of Celebrating my sister's 50th Birthday. We had the "Groupon Deal" which worked out about £14 each. OMG!! what can I say it was one of the highlights of the Day. The service was amazing Susana was our waitress she was Fabulous. Darren was our Barman well our glass was never empty.. Thank you Darren!! We had the 2 course brunch and bottomless Prosecco deal.. The food was Fab cook by the new chef Jess.. the plates were all cleared.As we went in we noticed the board outside saying the deal was £25 if you walked in off the street, we all agreed we would definitely paid that.. Our deal was a bargainif in London you have got to give this place ago.. we will be back.

Susana gave us the best service being a great bartender besides her helpful tips about the city. Nuno cooked us a very tasty burger and he even made us the fish and chips that was not in the lunch menu. Awesome pub and we will be back definetly!

I love stopping by here every once and a while with friends for a bottle of wine and fun pub games! Live music and pub quizes as well!

The ambience its perfect, Saturday music live. I have been there many times with my family, friends, colleagues... The service it's impeccable. You can also bring your small dog... It's just perfect. The food amazing, I love their fries.

Loved their brunch with bottomless prosecco. Also, their Sunday roast was good too with a popover, vegetables & more than enough to eat. Enjoyed everything we had at the pub. We stayed in their rooms so ate several meals there. Enjoyed them all and the staff made you feel like family

Overall a great experience and the prosecco is topped up fairly regularly. Although we did have to ask a couple of times which is a bit awkward. However , the breakfast is good and the staff are polite

Recommended for the bottomless brunch they do at the weekends - two courses (although the first course is generally just a a croissant) and all the Prosecco you can drink within 90 minutes, it may not be the best bottomless brunch in London in terms of quality, but value wise (less than £15 each excluding tips if you book via certain online sites), this one is hard to beat. The staff are also enthusiastic and the bar has a nice homely feel, with board games and various sofas on-hand to help you start your weekend.ReplyShareMore

Walking distance from the subway station (10 min walk max), nice little room with the right amenities. I would recommend booking a room with a restroom and not the ones that you have to share the bathroom/shower.

Went for the groupon voucher for the bottomless brunch, well worth the visit!The food was good, tasty, not Michelin starred by any stretch but unbelievable value for money.Would definitely do it again but unfortunately can't go twice on the same deal

We had pre booked for a party of 20 with Children Was told we needed to per order the Roast meat Food was coldSunday Roast diner was misleading Was NOT told that Roast Beef was in fact a stake of beef.Roast potaoes was in fact " New potatoes" So was not asked how we liked it cook.It was chewy very raw.(On line Menu is not the same as Menu in the Bar)So Menu in the bar does not metion Roast dinner at all.friend booked it on the phone, not looking on line.My daughter a Vegetarian. when her Sweet potato arrived it was rock hard inside!When offered an alternavie . A large mushroom with something inside.It was sat on top of something green, which my daughter thought was a salad, but ended up eating half Napkin .

This is a lovely pub and I would certainly go back to sit on a sofa or stall for a drink or to get dragged along to watch sport.I would not eat there again though. The eggs were undercooked, the hollandaise wasn't right and portions were a bit on the small side.

Bottomless prosecco for brunch is always a good choice and this place is very nice and cozy.Unfortunately I have to give only 3 stars cause I got a burger that looked horrible: the soft shell crab burger. I was expecting the crab to be covered in batter but it wasn't at all and when I opened my burger what I saw was just a dead crab belly in the air, quite disgusting. I'm not picky but I really couldn't eat it and I was told it wasn't possible to change it just because of my personal taste. Fair enough, I ordered eggs and paid for them.Staff were nice and polite, food all in all acceptable (apart from crab ) but can't say it was special.

I love this place and live just down the road.It's a gorgeous pub with a warm atmosphere. The food and drinks are great and happy hour provides with a great deal on bubbly. On the weekends there is live music and trivia! Highly recommend!

I just thought I should comment on my wonderful, mid-week experience I had at the Captain Cook in December. I visited the area for work and stumbled across this lovely little place. The decor is quaint and extremely welcoming, the prices are reasonable and the food was incredible. Hats off to the chef lady, the place was bustling, but the food was top quality. Enjoyable experience with colleagues. Highly recommend.

Great menu with most punters glugging their way through a few glasses of bubble in a lovely welcoming atmosphere. Food was great with baked eggs and eggs florentine, benedict featuring. Delicious.

Such great food and great service from Paul, who was an absolute gem. Went with a large group for my birthday and the staff made me feel so special. Inside of the pub was open and wonderfully decorated. Thanks for making my birthday amazing guys!

Slightly off the beaten track, this cosy, classy pub is a hidden gem of Fulham. Cosy atmosphere, friendly attentive staff, great games on offer and delicious food. And because it's off the beaten track it never gets too busy to be enjoyable but still has a decent pub atmosphere. What's not to love? The Mac cheese is excellent!

I stayed here last night as I had an early morning meeting in town. Couldn't have been happier with my room, beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable kingsize bed. Everything you could want was on hand. Would definitely stay again.

Visited a couple of months ago for an informal business meeting. I had the burger which is what I would call decent. My only issue was the bun was slightly burnt but I genuinely don't mind that. It's quieter than bars closer to Fulham Broadway so service is much better. The only reason I don't give it five stars is because we sat at the back and it was pretty dark and my business associate struggled to read the menu but other than that nothing to complain about. It's not a typical English pub but I don't think that's what they are after anyway. I've heard great things about the Sunday roast so must get back and try it when I have the opportunity.

The football on the big screen is great! And love the service from my fave bartender Maddy, she loves making mojitos and makes them so good!

Visited this pub on a Saturday night and was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was great, the service was good and the starter platters were fabulous, a definite recommendation. And after all that, some acoustic live music that nicely rounded the night off. I recommended this place.

Brought a groupon for bottemless brunch for the price we paid it was sufficient however was extremely disappointed with both the service and the food/drink.We were not informed on the timing the prosecco ended and felt this was cut short - as well as the prosecco being flat. The sausage in the English breakfast was extremely burnt and is not something I feel was acceptable to provide to a customer. If I was a full paying customer I would have requested a refund.

The website really enticed me in. It talked about the chef selecting seasonal produce with a great story. It also described it's gluten free options which was helpful online so we wanted to give it a go.Having read some reviews here, I was happy that we had made a right decision. I wish we didn't bother.The pub has a cosy feel and nicer than some of the other pubs in the area. We went to eat at 3:30 pm a late lunch. We were hoping for a Sunday roast but they had sold out. All 3 of us ordered burgers. My friends asked for medium rare. The lady at the bar said they had to be cooked to a core temp since they were made off-site... that makes no sense to me. Why can other restaurants cook medium rare?? Yes there is a safe temp to cook mince to but the consumer knows this or can be told. This was disappointing to hear as I suspect they order parties in from a 3rd rate food supplier... Our burgers came. Buns were cold. We could let this go, because we were hungry. The parties was so burned on the outside it was practically crisp. The size of the Pattie was at least a cm smaller than the bun it was in... it was dry. The bacon in the bun looked like something out of a packet rather than freshly fried. The chips were over salted...too saltyI'm so mad I didn't complain. We were all so hungry and with every bite we just kept talking about how bad it was. Had I been feeling better I think it would have easier to complain. I won't be going back and neither will my friends. A real shame... nothing homemade here.
