The Cappuccino Bar in Bedford

Ate here last night. I didn't realise that it had changed owners. The staff were friendly. They would have benefitted from 1 more person. I ordered the tomato soup thinking it would be home made, as I am on slimworld and thought this would be low in sins. It was out of a tin. It tasted like Heinz tomato soup. I've had it enough to recognise it. It was even slightly colder in places as it would be if you don't mix it enough when heated in the microwave. Second course I ordered spinach and ricotta cannelloni. I have this every time I come here it's my favourite. This time the tomato sauce had too much acid like it wasnt balanced whilst cooking and was definitely not the tasty smooth tomato sauce they used to serve. And what cheese you did get on top was not the gooey mozzarella they used to serve. The colder it got the stiffer is became. When we received our bill it showed that we were charged the specials. We were confused as the specials was not mentioned on the menu. And it worked out that the soup was actually 50p less then what we were charged as the special. Disappointed all round. Shame cause this restaurant was a definite go to when catching up with friends.

We haven't been here for a while and wondered if it would be as good as it was as there were new owners. It was really good and the food thoroughly enjoyed. Pleasant friendly staff and a good menu choice. We'll be going back soon to enjoy something else on the menu.

Best place for coffee, a must visit.

Went to The Capachino bar for lunch we were running late so phoned up to explain. They were so lovely two young girls served us and the food was yummy and good value .

The chicken in creamy white wine sauce, with roast potatoes & salad was lush...😋 Friendly staff and good value for money, but not over-priced 👍

Came for a team get together. One of our diners didn't get her meal due to staff not taking correct information over 2 phone calls prior to our booking even though we had booked a month in advance! When they did her plate it arrived after the other 7 diners had finished, 2 of the desserts were not available so wonder why they want pre orders?? A diner on the other table had fainted and I had to go and lay her on the floor as no 1st aider on site! Staff member gruffly asked if she needed an ambulance, I said no, he came to us with a glass of water to pour over her head whilst she's on the floor! Extremely bizzare. Staff couldn't care less, Staff were rude and arrogant. Used to like coming here but never again after this experience.

Great food and service. Love their desserts! Very reasonable prices as well. Booking essential at weekend nights as it's usually full.

Very nice place, just off the town centre, a classic cheap and cheerful meeting place with good food, alcohol, coffee etc. Worth booking, though lunchtime usually OK. Good for groups too.

2nd time in a week, fab food real value for money.

Went on a Saturday lunchtime. The food was very nice but there were a few little niggles that were unusual for The Cappacino bar. Our lovely waitress unfortunately did not understand a lot of English & this caused some problems when orderering & mistakes were made. My friend's food had to go back as it was cold, we were told something was wrong with the microwave. I got the feeling that the staff were all new & were finding their way. It didn't seem that anyone was actually in charge. This has always been a favourite restaurant of mine so I'm hoping that things will soon improve.

First time going to this restaurant and I can say I will definitely be back. The place has a really fun and exciting atmosphere, the staff are friendly especially the manager. The food was amazing especially the lasagna and flake cheesecake. The only negative was they run out of tiramisu but I was assured it will be back in stock very soon. Overall a top class Italian restaurant in Bedford, one of the best.

The food was awesome! I had the Gnocci and it was perfect. Light and fluffy and delicious 😍 The service was friendly and prompt! We will go again and recommend! 4 stars because my americano was forgotten, then had to be removed from the bill; and the "baked" orange chocolate cheesecake was delicious, but definitely not baked.

Nice food, table service friendly but, arrogant, ignorant management. Booked a table at 6:30 (we were told when booking that our table was needed for 8:10). We’d arrived early (6:20). It took 45 minutes to clear our table after our mains (in which time we checked the menu online to speed up our order). During our dessert the arrogant manager told us that there was an 8 o’ clock cut off (and said I don’t know what happened here), gave us our bill and asked us to pay on the way out. In exit we explained that we’d waited a long time to get our table cleared between courses… he said then come early next time…. Guess what, there won’t be a next time, as if it was our fault. A shame as the we’d been previously and really enjoyed it. They’re busy, I’m sure they have a regular clientele and so infrequent guests like us are an irrelevance to them. Perhaps they should put a stop watch on each table so you know when your time’s up 😂 Edited after reply from owner: We’d been to the Three Cups which is directly opposite. We left at 6:15 and even commented that we would be early. We were seated immediately at 6:20 NOT 6:40. No one asked or reminded us that our table was needed by 8:10. His staff walked passed us repeatedly while our plates were empty. The issue here, is that slow service prevented us from finishing our meal before 8:10. We were not rude at all, the only person who has be rude is the owner. Perhaps he need to train his staff to be more efficient and then we’d have been able to finish our meal in peace. I have never been given a bill while eating dessert and told to pay on the way out. I’m aware of the many great reviews. I’ve left one myself in the past. But on this occasion the service was slow and we were poorly treated by the owner. There won’t be a next time, I’ll go to one of the better Italian restaurants.

Very Italian, busy with a great atmosphere - accommodating, friendly and efficient. The food is excellent, quick service. Recommend!

Had a lovely meal again staff are lovely helpful

Have been several times and is always a favourite for dinner with friends, can personally recommend the spaghetti and meatballs. Staff are always amicable and the value for money is reasonable, the wait times are never too long and there is real class about the place. Portion sizes are very plentiful and we always struggle to finish. Would highly recommend the baked mozzarella starter, always one we share as a table! 😁

I ordered penne Gamberoni. However, the dish was a children portion with a very small portion of salad looking well past it’s sell by date. It was tasteless, couldn’t taste the garlic or onions. It had no flavour and I was served with tomato sauce which definitely was tomato sauce from a cheap jar not white wine creamy sauce as stated on the menu. The toilets was littered with ants and I walked out feeling very hungry.

Very good food!!! Great taste, very large menu choice suitable for families to couples good service very busy will need to book, 2 draws bks tables places very close together so much so when people walk down the aisle my glass was knocked off by someone's jacket and u can book in slot sittings which if u want 19.00 its tricky u have to have 19.30 BUT food is yummy and it doesn't put me off!!

So friendly! Had a big family lunch here and the whole staff was so helpful. Took photos for us. Brought the cakes out and sang happy birthday with us. Everyone found something they enjoyed on the menu and all the meals were great. They boxed up the food we were too full to eat so we could take it home. We all had a great time and the bill was really reasonable. Great experience.

Yep great italian, food service and atmosphere perfect every time we go there. Quality ingredients nice and clean good prices all round.

Excellent friendly staff and good choice of food on the menu At lunch time they do a deal where you get a main and a drink for £9. It’s not bad value , however the plate it’s served on is quite small and a salad takes up half the portion . So the overall portion size is quite small which may suit some people , however most of our group still felt hungry afterwards If the portion sizes were bigger I’d have given this a 5 star

We've wanted to try here for ages, and I am very pleased to say it did NOT disappoint, wow!!! Starters, mains and dessert all 10/10. I couldn't improve on anything. Portion size was perfect we left absolutely stuffed and very satisfied! Staff were all so friendly and funny, food came out quickly and SO much choice including for veggies. Would happily come back. For less than £50, we were chuffed. Very well done, don't change a thing, we will be back 👍

I LOVE this place, I mean the food is excellent quality, and the people are amazingly friendly, and I just feel at home there. They greet you like they have known you forever, and I just love the restaurant and the service they provide. I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant, and think you will be very pleased.

Went for lunch. Food was lovely. Prices ok. They open till 3 for lunch then from 5 for the evening trade. A bit out of the way and no parking.

Great place for lunch, excellent value, good food

Visited today with my fiancé and children and we had a great time. Our meals were lovely and even though they were really busy the service was quick an efficient! The staff were also very friendly ands polite.

Visited this hidden GEM on Friday and managed to get a seat in the conservatory, amongst the spectacular abundance of plants and outdoor themed decor (I love plants). After quick service from a LOVELY waitress (Gorgeously unique accent), I ordered a scrumptious looking pizza (At that point all I could think about was it sizzlin in da oven). Service was quick, only about 10 minutes and my splendid looking volcano pizza was in front me (Served to me by a young man, who, if I had to guess, appears to be from Italian decent due to his curly locks). Now time for the main event, my mouth was watering. Safe to say the pizza never stood a chance as I devoured it the same way a lion devours its pray (Volcano Pizza had a lovely kick of spice). My other half also enjoyed her meal. Now to summarise, food was f-f-fantastic. Waiters were flawless in absolutely ALL aspects. Pricing was extremely underpriced (In my opinion) considering the quality. What a great way to get over the passing of my pet dog (He was called Marqaviuś). Thanks for the lovely time, DEFINITELY recommend to all, and I guarantee you’ll see me again. #SicilianDiner

Came here for dinner a few weeks ago. Was served by a trainee waitress who was very sweet but didn't really know what she was doing. I understand people need to train however she should have at least had someone with her rather than going to ask for help each time we had a question. At one point the owner/manager came over and he was quite rude and abrupt to a simple question. I have been here before and was really happy, however based on this experience I would not return or recommend.

A lovely restaurant with superb food and even better service. We went for a family meal, the food was delicious, the wine was excellent and the staff went out of their way to accommodate us and send us on our way in time for the football while still being incredibly responsive and friendly. Highly recommended.

Had our work Xmas meal here. Friendly, welcoming and attentive staff. I chose well with the carbonara and orange chocolate cheesecake. The homemade pizzas looked great too!

This is my favourite Italian ever!! I don’t live in Bedford anymore but when I visit my mum, I always want to go here and it never disappoints! Staff are so attentive and the food is lovely. Reasonable priced aswell. I can’t wait for my next visit!

Ate here for lunch for the first time recently and was pleasantly surprised. The food was really tasty and priced very reasonably. Friendly, welcoming staff will greet you as you arrive and there’s something on the menu for everyone as they have vegan and gluten options free too. I’d definitely go again!

Staying in the area for work and I had Cappuccino Bar recommended to me by the post man that comes to our office! I called requesting a take away but due to how busy they were (good sign already) they could only offer eating in the restaurant. I then requested a table for one and the lady on the phone was kind enough to offer a take away so I didn’t have to dine my own like a Billy no mates haha!! I placed my order and was told it would be half an hour which was absolutely fine, the lady then called me back to say they could have it done in 15 minutes instead which was amazing. The service alone and friendliness of staff had me looking forward to the food all the more. I ordered the Focaccia Formaggio and Penne Americana - both were insanely good!! Everything tasted really fresh and not processed at all and the pasta was really flavoursome. Overall the friendliness of the staff was amazing and it genuinely made my day! As for the food it was one of the best pastas that I have had from a restaurant.

Always a lovely experience and they never dissapoint. I have coeliac disease so it can be tricky to eat out but I always feel so comfortable eating here and they are so understanding. There was a menue change so the desert listed as gluten free was no longer gluten free but they were happy to provide me with a chocolate and raspberry tart which wasn't on the menue and it was absolutely divine.

Really enjoyed our meal tonight service was good and pizza and pasta was delicious reasonably priced will defo be visiting again! Pizza 11/10

The food is always delicious. The staff were very friendly and helpful with queries about the menu. The £14.95 deal for 2 courses is brilliant value. Only thing I'd say is that be aware the garlic bread with mozzarella starter is a whole pizza! Would highly recommend the mozzarella al forno starter, the carbonara pasta and the tortellini al pollo mains as well. Really though, all the food is amazing!

Lovely atmosphere, terrific service and delicious food. They were happy to provide from the evening menu for my friend who is on a restricted diet. My gluten-free dairy-free vegetable pasta tasted authentically Italian. I will definitely be going back again.

Really clean ....the tables at the back are light and airy.... There are mirrors everywhere....and the place is well decorated... The staff are friendly....happy and seem genuinely pleased to serve you... You will enjoy visiting here...

A huge menu, Great value evening deal, I would go back, Don't be tempted to park next door; park on the road on adjacent streets. Very busy on a Thursday evening. Tables are packed in.
