Really enjoyed our food and the service was a really high standard. Highly recommend this restaurant!

went out with my girly for a lovely italian dinner at santaniellos last night, the BEST pizza we’ve had in a long while definitely would recommend, affordable, delicious and a really nice atmosphere.

I’ve not eaten here for years, it looked busy and the atmosphere seemed nice, I ordered a pizza to takeaway . I have to say I’ve had much better in not so Italian establishments, it was bland and tasteless to say the least. Pizza base was hard to chew. I’m yet to find an amazing pizzeria in Bedfordshire.

Pizza was stale, pasta tasted like vinegar and was wrongly overcharged at least over £200 after stating the service fee would not be payed for, also did not receive any receipts

The Food doesn’t even deserve one Star! I will not be coming back here ever again. The restaurant looks nice, atmosphere is great but it’s about enjoying the meal more than anything and coming to an “Italian Restaurant” you expect great Italian food and I’m sorry to say but I would rather eat a Dominoes Pizza which is saying a lot because I think there disgusting. My friend had a lasagne and it tasted of vinegar. When we got the bill I asked if we could pay separately as there was 8 different Families and they weren’t happy and said No! So we all added up what we had eaten and drank and still there was £200 left of the bill to pay which actually we should have refused to pay because everyone had paid. Made our experience not enjoyable, ripped us off for terrible food. Also a few of us had poorly belly’s after. I really don’t know how you’ve run a business for so long

Been eating here since I was a kid. Food and service is consistent, that's why it's my favourite Italian restaurant. Always bring guests with me, adults & kids, and no-one ever complains. What more can you say?

Legitimately the best restaurant in Bedford! Super friendly, incredibly tasty pizzas, and the best salad dressing I've ever had! Been coming here from years, and now I'm no longer living in Bedford I miss it! To the extent that I asked to come here on my birthday on a visit back Here for a meal on Saturday evening and it's just like I remember, a real family restaurant. I don't think the prices have actually increased in the last 15 years 😂

This is not the best pizza in Bedfordshire, it's the cheapest and you can see why. You get what you pay for and this place is a true testament of that. The pizza base is definitely nice and crunchy, overall good flavour, the pizzas need a bit of a higher quality toppings, the ham was bad, the pepperoni was really cheap, the egg...get this...was boiled and cut up! I don't wanna not recommend this place because the margarita pizza was done nicely, just avoid everything with toppings.

Was very upset the pizza’s was nice but when it arrived it was all messed up half had come off the pizzas so wasn’t enjoying it off the box

Had many of pizza here and always been very good but felt take away pizza was not of same was quality as previously had, dough was thin and hard around edges very disappointing

I think whoever made tonight’s pizza was in need of a night off. Not up to the usual standard. Toppings badly distributed. Very little sauce. One bread overcooked one undercooked!!

Guys, what's happened to your pizza dough! I'm a regular customer to your pizzeria and have had quite a few delivered home. All were delicious however on this occasions the dough was flat, had not grown and was chewy like leather. It tasted old and stail. If these pizzas were served at your establishment I would have returned them back to you. Please keep your high standards as it would be terrible if you continue serving pizzas like the ones that were delivered to me today.

Basic pizza nothing special, came quarter charcoal burnt. Coke tastes very odd.

We have attended santaniello's on many occasions for family get togethers and just grabbing a quick bite. It's a lovely family run traditional Italian pizzeria with a traditional wood fired pizza oven. As always the food was delicious, the atmosphere was great and the service was brilliant. Nothing is too much trouble for them. This is a family friendly establishment kids love it and there is always enough food... (you won't leave hungry) Prices are very reasonable. My wife (Italian), my kids (hungry boys), and myself love this place and will be back again for more delishious "Santan's" pizza very soon! Thank you!

I have been eating pizza and other dishes here for the past 18 years, I am coming back again and again, the food, the owners and the staff are very nice, I am definitely recommending it.

Maybe few years ago was a good pizza , not anymore, if you realy whant real italian pizza go somewhere else , I'm from South Italy I know what is all about real pizza trust me

Really good pizza and good service. Shame their wine menu was a bit bare. The gelato on the dessert menu was NOT gelato, though - more like supermarket value ice cream.

Food is nothing what it once was, went and dined in a couple of weeks ago and pizza was revolting thought it was a one off however went yesterday and got a take out, again pizza was awful, way to doughy, gave me a bad stomach, cheap pizza toppings and cheese was salty and masked any flavour of the pizza! Such a shame as used to be a lovely restaurant seriously need to improve

Superb pizza with loads of choice, traditional trattoria style. Particularly like that you can order carafes of wine rather than by the glass of bottle. A real gem.

Good atmosphere, nice place, BUT the food is not what it used to be. They pre bake the pizza dough before opening, so they have it ready to serve when people come, they use the cheapest quality ingredients and sell tiramisu from Aldi and they call it homemade.

The delivery person was given two deliveries to make one even further away from the restaurant than my house so my food was cold- not impressed- shouldn’t be multiple deliveries

Fantastic tasty pizzas and at a very fair price. Real downer though, you charge £2.90 for a glass of cheap and nasty cola. Really disgusting taste and a total rip off for a soft drink that ain't the real thing. Please serve the proper versions.

Just got back from having a meal here and the Pizza is pretty much how you get it in Naples, tasty, crispy edge and cooked to perfection. Pizza and a beer: a perfect Combo.

Always a great experience, a true local gem. Very reasonably priced, delicious pizza (ask for the specials and also try the garlic bread with mozzarella and chilli) and fast service. I hope they stay forever.

I ordered from Santaniello for the first time on my 50th birthday hoping for a proper Italian pizza and that's what I got. Very thin bubbly crust with just the right amount of toppings. Not too stodgy or greasy. My daughter agreed so will definitely order again.

Very disappointed. Being an Italian family in Bedford, we have visted Santianellos many times over the last 20+ years. At one time it was the best Pizzeria in Bedford. Unfortunately the last couple of years the pizzas have been hit or miss, lacking love and passion. However, tonight we ordered 3 x Margheritas and 1 x Quindici. I'm sorry to say I feel embarrassed by the quality of pizzas we received. The dough was awful let alone 2 of the pizzas were burnt, and, not cooked undeneath. Such a shame to see a reputable name not meet standards, especially where competition is fierce between Italians.

The toppings were not as generous as usual - literally 4 small bits of green pepper

The best Pizzaria in the UK Hands down! The staff are always welcoming! Food is cooked to perfection! The prices are spot on! We have been coming to this Pizzeria for years and have blessed some out our friends by brining them to this place! The house wine is delish! Highly recommend!

They do pizzas and not much else (there’s lasagne etc but it’s basically just pizza…) and as such they do it exceptionally well. Nice atmosphere and even the obligatory red and white cheque tablecloths. All clean, and very friendly, and the bill was reasonable too. We had some tiramisu for dessert and lovely limoncello. About the only downtick would be the very early closing time - 10pm on a Friday.

We walked in without reservation on a Saturday evening, Easter weekend. The place was absolutely packed. And yet we had our drinks, order taken, and pizzas on the table within 30 minutes! It's a family-run place with very reasonable prices. The pizza itself was not something to write home about, but was still very tasty (great dough) and I will definitely be returning soon. A couple of other things to keep in mind: - it didn't bother me personally, but some of the other reviewers are right: this place can be very loud when busy and is definitely a super casual venue. - you may have to essentially share a table if it is very busy. The place is crammed with tables, so there is only a 1 inch gap between some

We had booked tables for 23 and had great food, service and really enjoyed the atmosphere. Will certainly be going again in the future.

have eaten in the restaurant loads of times and always been beautiful. ordered on just eat 3 times 2 of those time the pizza has been small not the 12" that it says it is and that you get in the restaurant. the garlic pizzas we ordered tonight had clumps of chopped garlic on one part and just cheese on another. really disappointed with the takeaway food but restaurant is lovely.

Pizza was decent but the tiramisu is straight up from resident evil, what is this abomination. Kitchen sponge in brown alcohol. I can see you idiots actually have tiramisu but just decided to screw us I guess. Unless you're actually so useless you can't properly scoop some premade tiramisu into a container...

Pizza dough was tastiest I have ever had, love this place, however this time pizza was too singed round the edges!

I have no idea what time the food was delivered. We were sitting waiting for our food to arrive and we were wondering why it hadn’t come. My husband went to check outside and the pizzas had just been left on the doorstep. No one knocked. Our food is completely cold. This is not the fault of the restaurant, but the delivery driver who clearly couldn’t be bothered.

This place is a local institution and I go every time I'm here visiting family. The atmosphere is just people of all ages enjoying consistently good, crowd pleasing pizza and a few other options. You don't have to be Italian to make good pizza but the family who run it are authentic and be asked in the area for a few generations. It just has a great feel.

I have been coming here for a few years and have never had a bad pizza! Authentic Italian pizzas made in their pizza oven! The only bad thing I would say is that sometimes the crusts can be a bit over done but you do get that in the way these pizzas are cooked! Bedfords hidden gem!

I was out with friends for Christmas and the Pizzeria delivers pizza to the pub next door to eat, but I wanted to sit down and enjoy a meal, didn't turn me away as I was on my own and it was a busy Saturday night had a lasagna, garlic bread, coke, tiramisu and cappuccino came to about £24, all was excellent, can't wait for our next excursion to Bedford my friends will definitely join me. One of the best authentic Italian pizza I’ve eaten in the UK. The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. They offer their pizzas at an great price and they’ve tasted great both times that I’ve visited. Definitely recommend to anyone who wants a real Italian pizza

Honestly I love Italian food. But our experience here was not good. You have 4.5 star's, I honestly don’t know how. We were served salad, it was iceberg lettuce, 2 tiny tomatoes and 2 slices of onion. Basically we had iceburg lettuce, covered in this slop. It wasn’t even displayed nice. Just thrown on our plate. I had it for a starter. Couldn’t eat it. It was drenched in something, and soggy. It was awful. My husband had steak with iceberg lettuce. Who serves steak with iceberg lettuce. I have never been to an Italian rest, that serves this kind of food. I never complain because I know how hard people work, but honestly, it wasn’t good. The Italian restaurants I go to serve amazing salads , (ie: red cabbage, spring onion, cucumber, tomatoes, grated carrot, Salad leaves, rocket, sauces) this is what a salad should be, not iceberg lettuce. Spaghetti bolognaise really basic, same for lasagna. Just felt food was the cheapest and basic it could be. Would not go again. The staff worked hard and were OK. But food was not good at all. However if I was going to compliment you, deserts were OK, but that's not good enough, better to stay away. Do not waste your money.

Spoke to the restaurant concerned as my order was nearly 2 hrs late by this point. They were very helpful, said the pizza had been sat ready for collection for ages but the delivery driver wouldn't take it earlier. Told them not to send it out as I had to leave for work. Justeat delivery service absolutely abysmal on this occasion. Not the only time this has happened with them lately so will not use again.

Fabulous food, drink and atmosphere. My husband and I come weekly and often bring children and grandchildren. Superb service always! Feels like you are in a family restaurant in Italy 🇮🇹 There are no pizzas on this earth better than a Santaniell’s. Fantastic value for money too!

I've been coming here since they opened aside from a break when I moved away from Bedford. My wife was cross I didn't introduce her to my favourite pizza restaurant sooner. It's just the best, atmosphere, food, friendly service and value. Best pizzas and homeade Italian food you can get. It feels like you've stepped into a little piece of the Italian Riviera in Bedford town.

Lovely authentic pizza with a range of toppings to choose from but still very affordable. Bonus is that they have birra moretti on tap!

Great food and Italian Brandy. I ate and drank like a King! Awesome flavors in a beautiful authentic Italian setting accompanied by Italian music in the background. Staff were attentive friendly and yet professional. I love coming here where I can escape to a little piece of Italy and still be in my hometown by 7pm. See you soon Pizzeria Santaniello.
