Just stopping over in Bradford whilst on holiday and found this place where we had an amazing breakfast. Great menu. Delicious food. Nice atmosphere. Great ethos. incredible value. It really deserves every success.

Was at a training day in Midland Hotel and spotted this cafe over the road. Lovely bowl of spicy tomato soup and a sandwich. Lots of choice on menu.

Wow! I highly recommend the food and service from the team at The Canteen, it was absolutely fantastic! The food arrived on time, carefully packaged and transported hot and ready to eat; vegetarian chilli with savoury rice, baked potatoes, cheese, soured cream and a big, beautiful fresh and colourful salad. They even thought to put in some butter portions as well. Plenty to feed everyone present and was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Made a delicious and satisfying change from the usual M&S sandwiches and we will definitely be using these guys again for other functions. The personal service and attention to detail was exceptional and the price was right. Thank you so much! Full tummies and smiling happy faces on our first day back to school after the Christmas break, it certainly helped to make the day easier to get through! Xx

We have just had lunch here for the first time and we were very impressed. The food was delicious, all freshly made on the premises and beautifully presented. I think it was Joe who realised that we were there for my friend’s birthday and made her a very kind and thoughtful gesture. They don’t accept gratuities, instead the money goes into a charity box for those who are more in need. We will definitely be coming back and certainly recommend The Canteen to all.

Came here for lunch with colleagues from work. Staff where fantastic and the food was brilliant and an absolute bargain. Enjoyed the fish butty special a Brownie and a cappacino. Enjoyed it so much had to come bakc to try the flapjack the day after!

Staff are so polite and full of manners, clean and very tidy seating area and the food is to die for absolutely fab

This place is excellent, both for quality and value. The coffee is delicious, and they use proper sliced ham, not the re-formed squares you so often get in cafes that charge these prices. I've eaten here a few times and never been disappointed by the service, the food or the bill. And you can get a glass (or three) of water with your food or drink if you like, no charge, which is great in hot weather

This cafe deserves to be much busier, because the tea and bacon butty I had were both great and very good value for money . I asked for a well-done bacon butty, which was duly delivered, a large barn with plenty of bacon, and a well-brewed mug of tea. Clean and tidy, very good customer service, I won't bother trying anywhere else in the city centre when i visit from now on.

I eat very clean and healthy. There are many places to choose from for breakfast in Bradford. But your choices become limited when it comes to a healthy breakfast. I looked at many menus on trip adviser and eventually settled on The Canteen. When I arrived I created a custom omelette with 4 eggs, 2 yolks, spring onion, mushrooms and a side of bacon. It was delicious and definitely in my top 10 breakfasts. The picture I’ve taking will say it all. If you do come here enjoy the chilled vibes.

Visited this establishment on two consecutive days. The first day I had the coronation chicken sub toasted, it was full of distinct flavours and the side salad was a nice addition. The second day I had a sausage butty which again was amazing value for money (under 3 pounds!). The staff are all friendly and helpful and as a social enterprise cafe it helps get others into work which I find very inspiring.

Sometimes I come for my lunch here and it is always a good experience. It is home cooked style food and it is always very tasty. The staff members are always nice. I recommend this place, it is a pity it is only open at weekdays.

I visited briefly last week to get a drink. Great service and a delightful hot chocolate. Today, I had the pleasure of stopping by for lunch. The joy, I must go again. I noticed the salad dressing, I can't do mustard, I wasn't aware salad came with my meal, the daily special. "Not problem, we'll get that sorted for you" I would have been happy just for the salad to be removed and the dressing, obviously but no. A new plate was prepared and the staff were fabulous about it. I will not fault this little gem and I will visit again soon. Thank you to all involved in the place, you are a delight and a joy and I will certainly return. The prices are great, service is quick and the food magnificent. great job everyone.

We were just walking past hoping to find a place for a quick bite. The canteen was very welcoming, and offered an interesting range of choices, at very reasonable prices. We followed up our three different lunches with a cup of tea, all very well prepared. Only thing not first class was the cappuccino, but even that wasn't a deal breaker! We would all recommend.

I visited The Canteen for a work meeting with a colleague. The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly. I was impressed with the high standard and warm welcoming atmosphere I will definitely be coming again with family and would recommend it as a great place to eat.

I've been to The Canteen a few times now and tell all my friends about it.. The food is superb with a selection of sandwiches, salads main courses,and desserts made to a very high standard at extremely reasonable prices.. The staff are polite and very friendly. This is a training cafe and the food is made and served by the students. An ideal place to hold a small meeting.. A littke gem..

Great lunch, ordered a sandwich which was huge and very tasty! Service was lovely, we were greeted with a smile! I took my baby who made a bit of a mess in her high chair but was told not to worry and made to feel very welcome. I’ll definitely be back! Thank you x

Lovely big bowl of soup! Red hot and plenty of it. My partner ordered the tuna jacket-potato and it was really good and well presented. The staff were nice and seemed willing to learn. Good to support local businesses/enterprises looking to help young people!

Had to go to Bradford early one weekday morning. Missed out on breakfast so decided to eat out in Bradford. Came across this lovely little cafe just outside Bradford Forster St Train Station on Cheapside. After reading the menu was impressed enough to try out their "Fry Down". This was a healthy take on the "Fry Up" Poached egg, grilled bacon and sausage, beans and fresh tomatoes with granary toast/bread (exactly how I make it at home) with a lovely cup of coffee. It was excellent! The sausages were really meaty and tasty, the bacon lovely and crisp. The bread was fresh and tasted delightful. The menu has a variety of light breakfast choices along with a lunch menu and offers smoothies that looked fresh and appetising.

Had a nice lunch here. Liked the retro simple decor. Menu simple but good enough. I had a bowl of home made soup and a home made roll which was very nice. Prices good. Staff helpful. A quiet and restful place to sit in busy Bradford.

I was delighted to discover The Canteen near the bottom of Cheapside yesterday on my way to Bradford Donor Centre. The cafe is a social enterprise, training hospitality staff for the future, and is situated in a relaxing, bright room with bench seats and rustic chairs with scatter cushions. Opening at 7.30am it was perfect timing for a good breakfast before my appointment shorlty after. I was greeted with a warm welcome by Joe and the other Jo, a lovely, smiley lady who brought my 'Fry Down' breakfast. I chose the veggie option but meat eaters are well catered for here along with those who prefer lighter fruit and yoghurt choices. There looked to be a good selection of lunch sandwiches, salads, baked potatoes with range of fillings (must try the lentil and cauliflour dahl sometime) specials and cakes and lighter bites. Take-out is available but I can't wait to return to sit in and sample other things, as this is now my new favourite place in Bradford. I noted that Aspire enterprises also has the 'event space' for events, meetings and celebrations with catering available. A great find!

I work just up the road from The Canteen and I've started to bob in for some breakfast on my way in. The staff are always really nice and chatty, and the bacon sandwiches are spot on for a Friday morning! Plus, the meal deals they do are good value. Will definitely come in for lunch soon!

After choosing from the menu online we were disappointed to find that the options chosen were unavailable. There was no granary rolls only white bread rolls. The fillings were below average and the sanwiches were very small. Not worth £3. The soup was ok. I doubt we will return.

Lovely food I go here every day for my dinner! Couldn't ask for better service. I love the hot specials and soup that they have on everyday.

Delicious food and low prices, that's what I call a bargain! I've visited The Canteen a few times and my experience was superb each time. I've tried their coffee, sandwiches - egg mayo, and a roasted chicken - both were divine. Very rich & generous filling. And then there was soup.... I've tried beetroot but it was a tough call because there was mushroom soup available too and both looked amazing. I'd whole-heartedly recommend The Canteen to all lovers of good quality, home made food.

I visit the canteen most days. Mainly for my coffee in the morning. The staff are friendly and always have a smile. I have also eaten lunch. The food is of high quality and plenty of it. I highly recommend anyone to visit The Canteen whether you are on your own or with family and friends.

What a wonderful venue in the centre of Bradford. So convenient for car parking and rail station. Beautifully presented food in delightful surroundings and a pleasing feeling to know the Staff are undertaking/completing training in a professional manner.

I'd noticed this new cafe opposite Bradford Forster Square train station and had been meaning to check it out for a while. So I arranged to meet my husband for lunch last week. We were both really impressed. We had a pannini and chips - my husband said they were the best chips he'd ever had (they were really nice!)! I took a piece of carrot cake and coffee back to the office with me, only £2.50 which I thought was a great offer. It was a lovely relaxed environment. I'll definitely be back!

Staff are lovely, food is wholesome and tasty. Good variety. Reasonably priced. The whole ethos of the canteen is excellent. Try it, you won't be disappointed

I met my mum here last Friday and loved it. Its so hard to find a good cafe in Bradford that is not your big chain Costa or Starbucks. The food was delicious. We had a choice of salads, jacket potatoes, soups and sandwhiches

Great food at great prices - ideal for a breakfast or lunchtime meeting. I had a jacket potato with tuna which was oven baked and tasty, served with some lovely homemade coleslaw and a side salad. My colleague had soup and a sandwich and said the soup was gorgeous. I also took advantage of the takeaway cakes for an afternoon treat and would highly recommend the homemade carrot cake.
