The Canadian Charcoal Pit in Stockport

I can't believe this place gets any bad reviews, it truly doesnt deserve them! I've been using this place for years, and the food has always been spot on. You'll find nowhere else nearby, or possibly anywhere in Stockport, that does a finer kebab or burger. The food is always fresh and the staff are amazingly friendly. I was asked recently what my "last meal" would be, you know, if you're on death row and you can have one last meal. Here's my answer - a 1/2lb steak burger from the Canadian. It's not just the burgers though, it's all good!

Got told burgers were halal by some guy taking my order and frothing at the mouth as he was about to take my money... Then was advised by a delivery driver that the burgers are cooked on the same grill as non halal meat.. Put that froth back in ya mouth ya Muppet!

Very poor value for money. Not helpful on the phone. Avoid like the plague. Food lukewarm and not what I ordered. Very small portions for £19.40 for one person.

they said delivery would be 1 hour, so me and my husband decided to make passionate love, anyway 30 mins into making love there was a knock on the door and it was food, so I had to run down stairs with nothing but a towel wrapped around me looking all hot and flustered!! and by the we had finished the food was lute warm!

Ordered a few times now, food always turns up fast, burgers are amazing as is the rest of the menu I have tried, totally recommended.

service is really poor, will not be using again. food 30 minutes late, called and was told they were just making the food, called again 20 minutes to be told it would be another 10 minutes. really poor

Wow very fast delivery which was within 20 mins of ordering and 30 mins earlier than estimated...for a Friday night very impressive! The delivery guy was very friendly and polite. Food was fresh, hot and delicious.

burger and chips were fine, the hot dog with cheese and bacon was missing the bacon

Food was 30 minutes late, when I rang and asked where the food was the person on the phone was extremely rude and put the phone down on me, when the food arrived chips and sauces were missing when I called up again the staff were once again rude and again put down on me, when I called up and asked for a refund for the missing items the staff were again rude but told me they would ring just eat to sort it out as I tried to ask what I should do to make sure it happens they once again hung up on me

Gourmet burger it was not. Took ages to arrive and not worth the wait. This place used to be good but this was rubbish.

La Canadian Steak Burger was a cash n carry frozen patty. Not down

Not value for money, got more for my cash elsewhere with fresher ingredients & naan bread not resembling cardboard, plus spending £20 on an order I expect free delivery not a £2 delivery charge.

I ordered a donner and chicken kebab with salad. it was very small and no salad.... not worth £7. I can get one twice the size for half the price. The fries were rubbery too. Chicken wings were crunchy and decent.

The burger was genuinely 10/10 not had many that good but the fries tasted old the chicken wasnt completely edible, kind of greasy.

Chips were really nice but calzone was too doughy

Best kebabs made with proper lamb steaks not minced. Delivery time is always quite long but they often deliver earlier than stated. Deffo worth the wait though!

food cold, jacket potato was tiny dry and rock hard, salad was 99% onion, hotdog & bacon was over cooked and very disappointing would not recommend ordering from here and with the added surprise of a service charge on this bill

Ordered for the first time with an ETA of 45 minutes for 8:10pm. This was then extended to 8:30pm by the takeaway. The food then arrived at 9pm and I was greeted with a mixed kebab (which cost a healthy £9.50). Bear in mind I paid an extra £2.00 for delivery also and then a rock hard Naan bread & dodgy looking donner meat arrived absolutely killing my appetite. Won’t be ordering from this place again and I would advise everyone to avoid at all costs!

Well where do i start. Not only was the food early we were truly shocked on how small the portion was. We paid £8 each for a lamb and chicken kebab only to find it was literally a child's size. We actually laughed on how small it was. We called the shop only for a man to say it's his bosses decision and he will pass the info on. I was not happy with this so logged with just eat they advised that we couldn't get a refund even though I could submit pictures to show how small it was. It turned up also 1 hour early. Wanted naan also on one kebab but that didn't happen either. Trully dissapointing with the food. Just eat said the manager refuses to refund. Complete joke. Not one to moan but for paying £16 + £2.50 service charge and also tipping £1.50 to be left with what we had is unberlievable. Poor poor service.

food was amazing as always never fails to impress, there was one slight problem with the delivery though as it seems that I didn’t hear the driver knocking on my door so he thought it was best to open and enter the house, quite frankly I thought this was really rude and I hope this issue revolves on him losing his job due to such irresponsible behaviour

Delivery was 10 mins earlier than the stated time. The food was hot and tasty but the breaded mushrooms had been overcooked. My free can of Vimto, as part of the meal deal, was missing so I rang TCCP to advise. He was very apologetic and offered to send the can out on its own which I declined (this was at 10.10pm Fri 25/5) and just stated they would owe me one on my next order, which he agreed to. Other than this one incident everything was fine.

absolutely amazing food. I had the meat feast calzone and it was hot and full of flavour. would definitely recommend. best in Stockport only downfall is the slow delivery time but definitely worth the wait

Donner meat black round edges, like it had been barbeued. as a reg donner meat eater know it shouldnt taste like its been smoked with charcole. it should be tender... also asked for chilli sauce seperate and it was smothered in it. didnt even like it...

Burgers were hot pizzas chips onion rings garlic bread was all cold joke never again ordering plus pizzas were hard most off it went in the bed!!!

Brilliant food guys! We have finally found a decent burger place because the rest just dont care whereas you guys go above and beyond. Expect more orders from us and will be recommending you to friends and family.

The food was good as ever, and the delivery time was quick. The guy delivering, however, left something to wish for. Several things, in fact. I had explicitly requested that he wouldn't ring the door bell, because people were asleep in the house, and to call my cellphone instead to let me know that my food had arrived. Yet, there he was, at half eleven in the night, ringing the bell repeatedly and rather noisily banging on the door, 30+ minutes ahead of the quoted delivery time. And the delivery text message service that JustEat offers was not used either. On top of that, he was rather rude to me when I came out.

Great burger's again ordered single and they gave us doubles 👌 And a free can of Dr pepper too! Highly recommended 👏 Will be ordering again soon ☺

Wow! Very surprised how nice the burger's were! Couldn't fault them they are amazing!!! The chips were cooked perfect nice and crispy! Delivery was very quick! Our favourite burger place from now on. Would highly recommend.

eaten here for years but unfortunately it has given me the most horrendous stomach and I have been unable to leave the vicinity of a WC at any point today. not normally what I've come to expect from TCCP but perhaps a one off

Burger was nice but natchos and tacos not great had olives in which were not to my taste and drenched in cheese which kinda made hard to eat.

Eight quid for a kebab with 3 pieces of chicken and 3 pieces of lamb? Extra Donner I (luckily?) ordered had the consistency of washed socks. Seventeen quid for a barely edible meal.

We weren't ready for the food, as the e-mail confirmation said it would be delivered 10 minutes later than the original estimate. Chilled diet coke in the insulated bag with the meal wasn't a good idea either. Food was great though, best takeaway we've had for a long time.

Ordered a meal at 6.10 it was delivered @ 6.25 everything cold when tried to ring to get through no answer when Ghent through get told to not moan will never be using them again

Lovely fresh good quality fast food

Took exactly 1 hour to deliver which was the exact stated time. Delivery guy was very polite and friendly. Absolutely delicious food, in abundance, and was hot on arrival. Will certainly use again.

Never ordered from here before and the menu looked really good so thought we would try it. Was an hour and 15 mind delivery time which is a long time but we didn't mind then it was1 hour 50 mins until our food arrived. When called the restaurant to ask how long it would be really dismissive and rude and no apology just I don't know might be 5 might be 10 minutes. When food arrived it was stone cold Will never order from here again.

Extremely rude delivery driver that has a serious attitude problem. Did not attempt to ring the home phone when he arrived much earlier than expected and decided to blame me for not answering a door with a broken bell on it when he had a perfectly good mobile. His poor customer service has put me off this business completely.

20 minutes late and I was tempted to have a snack whilst waiting! Glad I didn’t as it was still all hot when it arrived and tasted great! Only mark against the quality is the chilli sauce, spicy but no real flavour! The burger though... that burger. It will haunt my dreams until I get to have another one! Succulent, well seasoned and the relish is incredible!

Average at best, gourmet burger not great, pizza was the "usual" from these types of places. Will stick to my usual going forwards as nothing special!
