as I walked past this place so many times & I'd never been in until now. We had a lovely bit of breakfast here, as well as the toast .... you get fried bread too, what a treat that was. Oh & a cuppa with the breakfast at no extra cost either. It was a good price & much cheaper than anywhere else, & there was just the right amount of food, not too much, not too little. Shame it's selling now I've just discovered it after many years of both living & visiting Tywyn.

Popped in for lunch with my 11 year old as we spotted it while walking past just before noon. Thoroughly enjoyed our food, perfect portions and tasted delicious. The homemade options looked very tempting as well. Lovely and cool on a warm day, and very peaceful. No blaring radio or noisy kitchen. Friendly attentive staff too. Will definitely drop by again when next in the area

I enjoy coming here for value for money plates of freshly prepared food. My favourite is the old staple of egg & chips - made from real peeled spuds and fried the way chips should be. No frozen rubbish here. The dish of the day varies, every time a no nonsense balanced plate of appetising ingredients such as Maggie's (the cook & bottle washer) cheese & potato pie with "tinned" tomatoes. The pies/ crumbles and cakes are all made by Maggie too. Prices are extremely reasonable, which enables many of us with low incomes to have a wholesome meal often.

Many cafes seem to close on certain days of the week in Tywyn, but we managed to stumble on this little cafe, that opens for breakfasts and lunches, until 2.30. They did a special of cottage pie, that seemed to be very popular, but we opted for soup and a bacon sandwich at a very good price of £5. Leek and potato soup was really tasty and there was plenty of bacon, in the sandwich and we both felt full. The soup also, had been very popular and apparently, we had received the last two portions, much to the disappointment of a group of people who followed us in. The place was quite busy, but the lady taking orders, took the trouble to accommodate everyone with what they wanted and tweaking the menu to suit their needs. Welcoming and cheerful, she was everything you could wish for, in someone serving you. Everything on the menu was very reasonably priced and if we are ever in the area again, we will make a beeline for this lovely , little cafe.

We were a large group and the owner, who seems to do everything, was very accommodating (unlike the place over the road). The decor is quaint and the cafe is clean and tidy. The food was very nice and we couldn’t believe how inexpensive it was - Excellent!

The wife and I had lunch there today and it was totally faultless. The couple themselves are extremely polite, the food quality simply can’t be bettered and the service was very fast. 2 dinners, 1 desert, 2 drinks, £21. Superb value. Can highly recommend the place.

I visited here with my husband and child one visit to Tywyn. It was raining fairly heavily, were walking past and decided to call in. I'm glad we did as it's a very cosy place with a nice Welsh dresser that houses decorative teapots. All the food is home made, but I can't really comment on it unfortunately as we only had cups of tea and tea cake. However, what we had was lovely and just what was needed on a rainy Monday. The lady working there, who appears to be the owner, was equally lovely and friendly; I'd love to go back and try one of her Sunday dinners. The whole place is very clean and tidy. Go in, you won't be disappointed.

Tiny old school café, it looks like the owner Maggie takes orders, cooks and brings food to your table all by herself, so service is likely quite slow on busy days - No issue for us though as we popped in at lunch time on a weekday. Very nice cheesy omelette and homemade chips to die for. Partner happy with his breakfast (served all day). Will call in again next time up in Tywyn to try the cakes.

We returned to this cafe to try lunch,we weren't disappointed. We would recommend that you book for Sunday lunch, especially during holiday season. The food was home cooked and very tasty and the home made puddings were a delight. We will certainly be returning.

Dropped in on a Monday lunch time to find that is was oap's lunch day, or so it seemed, the place was heaving with them, which is not an issue but the owner seemed overwhelmed by the numbers. Ordering was efficient and we ordered 4 paninis and drinks. The choice of filling was limited to say the least being bacon and mushroom or ham and tomato. 2 paninis arrived but the other two were conspicuous by their absence, i guess there was only one panini warmer...... Value for money was average. A young girl asked for a tuna sandwich and was told there was no tuna, a tuna melt panini is standard fare too, and there is a Spa shop and a Co-Op supermarket up the road, so come on cafe owner, ensure that you have the basics in especially on market day when you are likely to be busier

A thoroughly enjoyable evening. We started with a drink on the terrace and we were given the option of eating out there too and we did. A beautiful view and a perfect spot to watch the sunset .Definitely planning on returning.

Called in for coffee and cakes. Took ages to be served but staff were pleasant. We sat upstairs and appreciated the heating being on as it was a cold day. The coffee was weak and we only drank it to warm us up. My dad’s iced bun was more like a rock cake. The bara brith we bought to take home was the worst we’ve ever had. Completely dry and tasteless. Best thing about this place was the clean loo. Would not return.
