I was told that the restaurant no longer serves food. Pity because they do have rooms and plenty customers in the bar. Even guests cannot get a breakfast.

Great value, friendly, clean. Shame that the kitchen was closed, hopefully temporarily. Single room had everything I needed.

We went I the pub after seeing the pictures of the food and good ratings, thought we would get some nice food but got to the bar only to be told they don't serve food anymore very disappointed, They should update their website so people wouldn't go out of their way to get food, only to be disappointed and a waste of a journey

Staff were friendly and the room was clean. There's a massive car park so no parking issues there at all. We stayed in room 5 which was a room with a single and a double bed. We stayed for 3 nights. After the first night our room was made up by room service, but it wasn't made up after the second night, so we're not sure if the first night was a mistake or the second night? Plumbing wasn't fantastic, there was an issue flushing the toilet and the taps on the bath and basin were strange, it was difficult to stop the water in the bath/shower. The rooms are on the first floor and the stairs are fairly steep, but there is an option to stay in a static caravan in the rest of the hotel so this would be probably best for physically challenged people. We had an evening meal there on Tuesday evening which was good, but unfortunately there were no evening meals available on Wednesday or Thursday evenings so we had to go elsewhere. Breakfast was good, there was a cooked English breakfast along with cereal, toast and yogurt etc for value at £7.00 per breakfast. The hotel is well situated on the island and the beer was excellent.

Great food! Service staff were friendly and helpful. Can thoroughly recommend battered fish and chips, also the gammon steak. Try the Glaswyn Ale - superb.

Nice to be able to go out on a Monday night, lots of other local places are closed. Food was served by friendly staff, enjoyed stilton chicken. Great value too

Went in Monday and saw the menu. Found out they didn’t do food on Mondays so we returned on Wednesday. We were given a different menu and the guy argued about whether I was given the different menu on the Monday! The dish I particularly wanted was not on this new menu and he told me they had stopped doing it a while back (as far back as Monday?). Food was horrible and so was the beer. Amstel was awful so I had Morretti which had to go back because it was like mud. Unusual for lager but I was surprised he tried to serve it. He replaced it no problem.

This was the third time we have stayed for bed and breakfast. Comfortable rooms with ensuite shower and toilet, room heated nicely. The bar area is open to the public and all Sky and BT Sports football and rugby games are shown. Full Welsh breakfast is excellent for £5/head. No hesitation in recommending the Cali. We will be back.

we have eaten in both the bar and the restaurant and food has been good on both occasions. Given a preference i'd prefer the restaurant but only as there was football on in the bar each time we have been.

We are local and were looking for somwhere different to try. The Cali was central for our family so we thought we would give it a go. The restaurant and staff were very accomodating. First impressions were positive and the place was clean and organised. The menu was ideal for us and was typical of a good pub menu, having plenty of choice at reasonable prices and a kids meals with drink and ice cream included (brilliant). The beer was good and the bar area was busy (which is always a very good sign!). The food was great quality and everyone enjoyed their meals. We will be coming back for sure! Thanks!

This country inn is about a mile off the main east-coast road at the junction in Brynteg, but well worth the diversion! The atmosphere is quiet, relaxed and friendly with plenty of parking space and clean and tidy inside. The menu is a bit limited in length, but the choices are tempting without the usual settling for fish and chips! I had a T-Bone steak from the day's specials for £15 and it was great, the desserts were good too. 2 mains, 2 desserts and a bottle of wine for £47.

This is a Robinson's pub. We had a lovely home cooked meal here one lunchtime. The food was beautifully cooked with fresh vegetables and was served hot. We took advantage of the lunchtime special which was 2 courses for £7 (ish), great value for money....

The Rutland Arms is an absolute GEM! I would move to Sheffield just to be close to this amazing pub. Food was AMAZING. Great selection of beers and punters too! And the staff were very friendly. We will be back!

We heard that the Angel Inn had re-opened under new management, and that the pub had been given a make-over and were now doing really good food - so we thought we would go and check it out! We went along mid-afternoon on Thursday 25th January, 2024, the place is very clean, warm and welcoming, a nice, cosy and relaxed atmosphere. Louise the manager, who we took-to immediately, is so enthusiastic and passionate about running a good pub. They have a wide range of drinks and the menu although limited at present, is set to be extended, and they do Sunday lunch. The chef, an ex-army chef but with lots of civilian experience in restaurants too, is also passionate about providing great, home-made food. We very much liked the look of things, so we booked for Sunday lunch - we went along on Sunday 28th January - the food did not disappoint! We had a choice of beef, pork or chicken, or we could have some of each. The plate came out with the meat, Yorkshire pudding, mashed potatoes, roast potatoes, along with it came a large dish of vegetable and a gravy boat. As promised, everything was home-made, cooked from scratch and as we expected, totally delicious! Then came dessert, we all had treacle sponge with custard, but there was a choice of jam sponge, apple crumble or cheese-cake, - home made, and it too was delicious!, and all at a reasonable price - well worth it! We will be back - but we are also going to go along mid-week and check out their menu offers - they are going to be getting wine and drinks offers too - what more could you want! 👍😁.

Waiter gave us a menu and explained the process for ordering etc very promptly. Young lady behind the coffee bar took my order nicely and asked me to wait for the coffee for me to take to our table. No problem with that. However, whilst waiting, the initial girl and the other girl barista chatted very loudly, no rush to make my drinks. They were discussing a story between them and we're swearing f***ING loudly and persistently in front of me and other customers . Unaware this is not a great experience.
