Been going to sarah,s for my breakfast for a few month's now find it strange to hear someone say that they had sausage was not real meat but a cheap synthetic type. I have always been served real meat sausage's and always been look after have had to wait once or twice but only because sarah was serving in the other part of her shop as she also cook's as well and I have never had anything to complain about

We decided to pop in here for a late lunch and ended up having an all day breakfast. Our order was taken as soon as we sat down and our coffee's were served promptly. Unfortunately there was a long wait for my little boy's chocolate milkshake to arrive so all drinks did not arrive together. When the milkshake arrived we were told that there would be a wait for the breakfasts to be cooked as Sarah was serving customers in her other craft shop. Whilst waiting we could here them talking in the kitchen and giggling, shame they were not putting there efforts into cooking orders. Instead we could just here them gossiping. I also heard them say that there was an egg shell in the egg. The breakfasts sausage was not real meat but a cheap synthetic type. Being in Cumbria you would have thought they would use Cumberland locally sourced sausage. The drinks went cold whilst waiting so long for the breakfasts to arrive. We also only got two slices of toast between two people served on one plate. You could not call this toast as it was anaemic and soggy. The cafe was too warm and covered in condensation. The fridge was in the room but you could not identify any cakes on display as it was all steamed up. The elderly lady sitting across from us was served cold coffee so we also heard her complain. I would not rate this cafe due to poor service and poor food for the price. It is also not suitable for push chair and small baby. You also have to walk through the kitchen to get to the toilet. Overall a very disappointing poor experience.

Chicken pie was light pastry and full of meat. Scones baked fresh every day, both fruit and date versions lovely. Not too noisy to have a conversation. Also managed to buy some lovely jewellery in the shop next door!

Town centre, small, intimate, friendly (full of chatty locals) and warm, smiling servcie from Sarah and her staff. Brilliant value, infinitely better than the over-rated, and over-priced, Lanercost tea Rooms

I was really looking forward to our meal here tonight. As normal you turn up hungry but to be greeted with “there’s a bit of a wait because we’ve got a big order up stairs”, thought ok a wait will be 20 mins sounds ok. 60 mins later greeted with good sushi and substandard dry temaki. 25 minutes later our main course arrive, but which point dry fish (like chewing on cotton wool) and 85 minutes after walking g in anything would have done. Honestly thought about popping out to the Golden Arches to stave my insides eating themselves 45 mins in. If they knew there was a large order phone us and tell us can you turn up 30 mins later to stagger the kitchen…. Yep sounds reasonable. Left feeling significantly disappointed. Lots of apologises but nothing off the bill, no complimentary drinks, here you go full bill, a long long wait and left feeling bitterly disappointed. If you want quality food on time I’d honestly go somewhere else. If you’re unfortunate enough to be booked in have some snacks before turning up. On a positive drinks/cocktails delicious
