Visited Benugo for lunch. Not disappointed as selection of sandwiches has been good. I had smoked salmon sandwich with cappuccino. Coffee there is fantastic. I will return for sure.

I’m so fussy about my coffee but this place never disappoints! Had the most delicious warmed ham and cheese baguette and a lovely cinnamon bun. Super friendly staff and great atmosphere. Would recommend:)

Great place to stop between shops - we come here a lot, one of our fave cafes (we live in cafes!) - best for Leeds; calm and relaxing, great food and friendly service 👍

Yet again we arrived to find the cafe without hot food, only serving cakes and coffees. We went to look elsewhere and returned only to find a sign stating they closed at 1500 today, not 1700 as advertised. Shocking place run by kids

Had lunch here whilst on a shopping trip to Leeds. We had the Italian and Spanish panini s, whilst the food was tasty both sandwiches were served lukewarm and would have benefitted from extra heating.

We didn't get a chance to enjoy the coffee at Benugo John Lewis. At 4:30pm on Sunday my wife walked up to the counter and one of the staff brought out a sign, put it front of her and said "we're closed, we have to clean up and go at 5:00pm". Then smiled, ever so sweetly. Translate 'never knowingly undersold' as we're rude, we're indifferent even dismissive to the point of being offensive, you should be grateful to be allowed to shop with us and if you think you're going to get service at 4:30, you can push off. This is not simply a reflection of John Lewis, it is a reflection of what John Lewis has become - an edifice of hubris with an arrogant belief in a god given right to exist. I say good customer relations matter, the smallest details matter, service excellence matters and this company will fail on all counts. Good bye John Lewis.

My wife and me popped in to Benugo November 2021. This is a small but very smart coffee shop located in the J Lewis store, the coffee shop overlooks the Headrow. We only had cappuccino's and they were lovely. The food looked very appetising but it was mid morning and too early for lunch. The food and drinks were all very reasonably priced. The staff were very friendly and efficient. I would recommend Benugo to anyone shopping at J Lewis.

Rubbish service, overpriced food, dirty table and naff attempt at COVID-19 safety! Haven’t eaten here before but assumed as it was in John Lewis it would be great quality, service and ambiance. Instead there were a couple of really scruffy staff, passive service, dry cake and due to safety restrictions, paper plates and cups. Come on, get a grip!

The cafe is in a pleasant situation and offers a welcome refuge from the shopping. The tea and chicken avocado sandwich was excellent. The cappuccino had no froth and weak. The flat white had a bitter taste. Waitrose in Meanwood has far better coffee. The fruit and cheese scones were tasteless with little or no flavour. They should be avoided.

Firstly / staff were fine That is the only positive Americano Coffee, watery with no crema, absolutely terrible and had to swap for a tea. When I asked for it to be swapped they did comment that normally people thought it was strong... it is just brown water and not great coffee. Tea - ok but weak Scone - hard on outside - left most of this Millionaires shortbread - poor Now for the decor, Walls - had tea stains that had been spilt on them Ceiling - where has all that block mould stuff come from. This place just seems run down and the store has not been open long Such a let down and one of the worst places we have ever visited. Come of John Lewis you can do so much better.

Have been here several times whilst shopping in John Lewis and had no complaints, however today I was served with a cappuccino that was so bitter I was unable to drink it. I asked a member of staff for another as I was unable drink it after the first sip. The male member of staff was rather rude and told me a fresh one would only be the same. I commented that I have never has such a bad coffee and was quite taken aback by his attitude. He told me that they would weaken the coffee and proceeded to pour some out of my cup and added some hot water. Well, of course it was still bitter but just weaker. I left my coffee and will never return.

Called in here for lunch with my friend and her new baby. Limited selection of food and drink and also the seating area is very small. I had the New Yorker sandwich and a granola pot. Both were very good and the sandwich was very good value considering the high quality of both the filling and the scrumptious bread. Staff were very pleasant and friendly. The café area was very clean and pleasant, if on the small side. It's tucked away in a corner and I nearly missed it!

Always been a good pub but was quiet when I was there a few months ago. However this time it was packed and had great live music (ok, it was my band: I'm a bit biased!). Great selection of cask ales and friendly crowd.

Used to be lovely but new owners don’t have a clue. Whilst the food is okay, everything else has gone down hill. Menu wise I’d suggest you advertise a quiche as a quiche, not a tart. You don’t stand a chance of hearing your party, the acoustics are shocking. As for the clientele it’s full of screaming and I mean screaming brats. So if you fancied a nice relaxing lunch with friends, I’d suggest somewhere else because it won’t happen. And the owners don’t care, that’s the sad part. Perhaps you need to advertise that you are more of a crèche than an overpriced cafe.
