As a regular supporter of Tullie House (Hate the new name of Tullie - Would Buckingham sound right for Buckingham Palace?) I was looking forward to the opening of the new café. The food was great (It's a pity the chef did not design the room!) and the service was fast and friendly. I expected the decor to be wonderfully inspiring and artistic that fully represented the art exhibited and the history of Roman Carlisle with murals and a sense of drama. What did I get? An Ikea café without the meatballs and a Greggs café without the sausage rolls. After all this time of refurbishment, it was a total letdown and the Board should be ashamed they have allowed this to happen.

Very long wait for a cuppa, sausage bap and a scone. By the time the sausage bap arrived they'd sold the scone that I'd ordered. Refund took forever too as they decided to serve more people and make me wait again. Won't be dashing back as much as Iike the cafe and terrace, the service is far too chaotic.

Beautiful surroundings, excellent food and service by the staff you rarely see these days. Recently refurbished to a high standard it's a really bright spacious area with a relaxed high tea kind of vibe, loved it!!

It’s quite expensive, BUT in my opinion it’s worth it. The food is amazing, tasty well put together. The coffee is good too no burnt or bitter taste. It’s sad it’s not busy as it’s in such a lovely location with a good view of the garden. I’ll be back to sample some more of the menu.

On arrival - clean, smells nice and pleasant decor. But then once not at all good! The staff are truly miserable, incredibly unhappy in their job. We had two completely different dishes and both were very very salty. The range of vegan options was very impressive and the cost of two meals and two drinks was only £14.

This is the first place I got scones, clotted cream and jam during my Scottish and English vacation. I am still thinking about and wishing for them 4 months later and trying to find anyplace near me in the US that makes anything similar. They were warm and fluffy and just the best. Fantastic!

The staff are lovely. The chips were very fluffy and tasty. I do think the cost of cans of pop is a bit extortionate. Never been before but it's an ok atmosphere.

The food here is second to none and the tea is a lovely blend. Regular visitors to the museum, and will be back. Kid friendly.

Terrible value for money. £2 for a bottle of water, £5.95 for a kids lunchbox, consisting of a miniscule roll, a packet of quavers, a juice drink that tasted like some kind of cleaner, a soft apple and a bag of gingerbread men. The jacket potatoes were ready for an Arctic expedition judging on the thickness of their burned skin. The salad was wilted and the restaurant itself is manky. Sticky tables, stained chairs and filthy floor. Will not be returning.

A bit meagre and sad. Portion size poor. Not as good as it was

We were very disappointed with the quality of the food and coffee. We had jacket potatoes with cheese and side salad. There was approximately one dessert spoonful of cheese on the potato and the side salad consisted of 2 small lettuce leaves, a few tiny pieces of red onion and the equivalent of one slice of cucumber cut into small pieces. It was very poor. I did go to the counter and ask for some more cheese which was duly provided. Considering the restaurant is now being run by Watts Coffee Shop we were expecting a lovely coffee but again we were very disappointed. The food on the hot plate looked very dry and unappetising. Needless to say we shall not be back.

Could be so much better. Looked like a hotel function room. Dull.

My husband and I have Brunch at Cafe Nero located in House of Fraser most Saturdays . The staff are all friendly and helpful but one lovely young girl called Eden goes above and beyond .In our opinion she really is an asset to the company . She makes us feel like valued customers and because of the exceptional service that we receive from her we would not consider going to any other coffee shop in Glasgow City Centre.

I have tried Chinese Takeaways from many places around the country and Sunrise is quite probably the best I have ever eaten. Consistently, all the dishes I have tried have been packed full of flavour and in generous portions. The Salt & Chilli Chips, Prawn Toast and Satay Chicken are particularly exceptional. I don't normally write reviews, but after trying 7-8 other Chinese takeaways in Carlisle before discovering Sunrise, it really is and remains, worth the drive to. If you haven't tried it... DO IT. Run. Dont walk. Thank me later.

We were celebrating with a big group of people and ordered the Tapas, the food quality was average but the amount was very poor for £20. Also they didn't serve the tapas at once, rather in bits. The staff was friendly but they ran out of wine glasses in the first half an hour and served the (not so cheap) wine in tumblers. The live music was good and the atmosphere was great.

Called here when staying in the local Ibis hotel, we had a burger meal, chicken curry and a glass of wine each, both enjoyable. The pub was very busy as it was quiz night, but the service was still friendly and brisk.
