The Cafe in Glasgow City

Lovely cafe with nice waiting staff who were attentive and polite. Food was very tasty, coffee lovely and prices average. I really like the fact that it is table service. Only disappointment was the brownie was a little dry.

We ordered hot soup and haddock. The food was excellent although a little more bread would be welcome. The day was incredibly wet and we were glad of hot drinks and good service. Asked to sit in the gallery, so we could watch the weather but told we couldn't because the roof was leaking. Aside from that, superb. Family friendly, lots of high-chairs for the infants.

Shared a sandwich by way of a late lunch. The cafe is squeezed into the nooks and crannies of a cavernous hall, and can sometimes feel awkward, but okay for a rushed snack.

Food, staff were excellent. We selected from the children's menu and my friend had baked potato with beans and a side salad. I had the penne pasta with pesto - clean plates all round.

Since this is another free entry Museum in Glasgow and donations are not obligatory it would be a small way of helping the admin of this wonderful establishment to at least buy a snack while on your free visit !! To see all that this place has to offer would cost way more than a scone and a coffee in most other countiries. Pleae therefore donate by way of the Cafe !!

Place was clean but food was disappointing cold waited 40 min expressed our feeling about cold food but not happy with response

We had a lovely lunch as soon as the cafe opened (12:00) so it was not very crowded. Table service was quick and pleasant, prices were fair, and the food was very good. My husband had a burger and I had a healthy fish platter. Since there is so much to see at this museum, don't hesitate to plan to have lunch here during your visit.

Stopped to have a quick snack, cookies and a coke. Lovely cafe but a bit too loud and noisy. Got ice which was a nice treat.

Visited at a busy lunchtime period. Service was quick and food arrived quickly. Prices were very fair and food was excellent. Comfortable seating with plenty room for families.

It's an above average eatery. Very nice service, and quite fair prices for being inside the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. The seating area is slightly crammed, but not enough to be uncomfortable. The choice is relatively small, but there is something for everyone. Sometimes the wait can be a little long, but in those cases the customer is immediately advised of the fact and, at least in my case, offered an alternative.

Frankly, average, overpriced and irrationally busy given the lack of seating on the day I visited. The seating area is within the main concourse of the museum which, at face value, is very nice but there was a draft which just lowered the enjoyment of the experience.

We arrived just before the cafe was due to close and had a quick lunch of soup and a roll. Both were good. Service was fast, allowing us to spend more time seeing art.

Enjoyed a lovely light lunch here of soup / roll as part of our visit to the museum. The food was served hot and was fresh and tasty. All the cafe staff were friendly and eager to help. The cafe is clean and airy and the food was served in a timely manner. Well priced - child friendly as well.

Enjoyed lunch after viewing 1st floor exhibits. We were seated quickly, the staff was friendly, and the food was delicious. The prices were good, too. It was a perfect end to our visit.

A good cafe is an essential ingredient in any museum or gallery visit. Seasoned gallery goers know that tea and cake restore one enough to carry on for another couple of hours. The Kelvingrove cafe is right in the main space and therefore airy and light. It's a nice way to maintain the atmosphere of one's visit.

Great place to relax and quietly soak in the museum's atmosphere. I enjoyed the coffee and friendly service.

Really disappointed in the restaurant from the point of view it was at least £7.00 for a sandwich. Not the type of place you could afford to take a family.

Stopped off for a drink and a cake in between the exhibits. It is easy to spend many hours in the museum, so it is good to take the opportunity to stop for a small rest and refreshment. Table service available, but we just went up to pay at the till. Staff were friendly. Cakes were pretty nice! Good selection too.

The scone and tea was good enough, had afternoon tea here once and it was awful so would never eat a full meal here.Nice place though for morning coffee IF you get a coveted seat in the glass fronted atrium.Otherwise, it's too claustrophobic for me, and loud.

great place to eat, what was impressive was that even though there was a permanent queue to get in the staff were very good at table turnaround. food very good and very reasonable.

El personal era amable y la comida y las bebidas eran muy buenas. Estar allí un sábado había una larga cola para el almuerzo (esperas a que nos sentaran). Sin embargo, esto se gestionó bien y el personal estaba muy ocupado limpiando mesas y acompañando a las personas. Estaban ocupados tomando órdenes y entregando comida.

Mi marido tenía pescado y patatas fritas que tengo que decir que se veía bien. Comí un sándwich, sin embargo, corrían o del pan que había elegido y era bastante aburrido. La descripción sonaba bien, jamón local y queso ahumado, pero era simplemente un jamón común en lonchas y queso rallado. Dos pescados y papas fritas y dos sándwiches y bebidas llegaron a más de 45, lo que era caro.

We had the cafe to ourselves this morning as they had just opened. Service good, clean and very friendly staff. Thoroughly enjoyed our bacon rolls and excellent cappuccinos as we looked over to the beautiful University buildings. Very good.

Not the most extensive menu but good food and enough for lunch. Good service from a young team who are keen to help. Good job.

We just had sandwiches , cake and coffee and they were very tasty and reasonable price. The shop next door is also worth a visit.

I’ve been there twice and am not impressed. Every noise is somehow accentuated and whenever someone moves their chair the noise is horrendous. We were in the glass section at the side and had to move inside but it wasn’t much better. I now bring a packed lunch. Having said all this, it is an attractive place to eat. The food is good and reasonably priced and the staff friendly. I think if they could put felt or rubber ends on the chair legs all would be well and I’d eat there again.

Nice ambience, the staff were anxious about some fruit flies, but this was not a problem. I had haddock and chips - all good. Staff excellent. Recommend.

Excellent venue, plenty of room, lovely views, friendly staff and delicious food. Certainly worth a visit and excellent for families

Glasgow's West End...visit the University and the Museum and then have a lovely meal. It's a perfect day.

This cafe is reasonably priced and offers a variety of foods for everyone. The soup was excellent, service was great as well.

Wehad a scone and a coffee and it was nice but expensive. However, if you do not pay forthe museum then it i s fair enough! Service was okay.

but cakes, coffee and soft drinks reasonably priced. They must be buying sandwiches in and paying top prices for them.

Table service menu offers good choice at reasonable prices. Something for everyone. Service friendly but slightly slow.

The food is good and reasonably priced and the Cafe is fully accessible. The menu is varied and has a good choice of Vegan, vegitarian and also for those with a carniverous appetite.

It's a bit hit and miss. We've eaten here a few times and rated it "average" because sometimes it's been wonderful and other times pretty poor. It certainly fills a hole when you've wandered around the west end or the art gallery. Reasonably priced too.

The coffee tastes as good as the aroma that smacks your olfactory nerves as soon as you enter. Seriously the best coffee... especially if you time it for an organ recital

Este fue un maravilloso comienzo de nuestro viaje escocés. Teníamos un delicioso feria tradicional escocés de los haggis servido en forma moderna y un mobiliario isleño tradicional, diseñado a medida probamos los postres escoceses: clouttie albóndigas y otra cuyos nombres me escapa - absolutamente delicioso. El servicio era excelente - no hosco y arrogante que yu te acostumbras a en Londres! Este es un restaurante decente subestimado encantador Café con una maravillosa vista de los jardines. Tuvimos la suerte de que no era particularmente ocupado ese día, a mediados de la semana en marzo. Sin duda volveré cuando esté en Glasgie; y los precios son razonables en comparación al sur overinflated!
