The Cabin Bar in Liverpool

How can they claim to have no milk at 10.30am. It is either that they don't want hot drink visitors (prefer alcohol drinkers), or their ordering of stock has been woefully underestimated. Either way, I'll be going elsewhere from now on. It's a pity as well, as it has nice views over the mersey

Don’t Bother! Dirty surroundings, disinterested staff, dirty cutlery and the food is shockingly poor, hardly any customers in the place so I hate to imagine what it’s like if it gets busy.

Ordered two Bombay Sapphires and one tonic….barman tried to charge me £36. When I questioned this he told me I should have checked the menu (which doesn’t have prices listed by the way), how Bombay Sapphire is the most expensive gin there is (really??) and gave me a lecture about going to airport bars with well dressed bar staff (wouldn’t exactly call a shirt and jeans well dressed). When I asked him to price it with Gordon’s it came to £19. Not sure how Bombay makes it £17 more expensive. Either he can’t manage to get a simple order right (or admit he made a mistake) or is trying to rip people off. Not good either way! Just go to the bar down the stairs instead, they were great

Hours to kill in John Lennon Airport my twin brother Stephen and I decided to drop into The Cabin Bar ,been here before many times ,always more or less enjoyed most visits here and our latest visit was superb . I love the look of this bar, light and airy, lovely decor and furnishings, a cool looking serving bar and plenty of seating options spread throughout this bar. We were catching a flight to Salou ,we dropped into here ,we got a beer each ,served iced cold and sparkling, we chilled out and looked forward to our holiday in the sun. Beer served here was spot on, refreshing and tasty and vibe in this bar was good,proper holiday mood ,great start to our holiday. We moved on after our delicious beers and as on every other visit to here we had a great time, its easy to locate departure side ,John Lennon Airport.

Hours to kill before starting an eight days holiday in Benalmádena and so we dropped into The Cabin Bar ,always enjoyed my visits here and so it proved on my latest visit. A nice airport bar ,a cool looking serving bar ,lots of seating and great views of the runway ,biggest asset our the staff here ,the young lady who served us was so nice ,she poured my twin brother Stephen and I a great beer each ,iced cold and sparkling ,we grabbed a table were we looked forward to our flight to the Costa Del Sol while we sipped our beers. Beer in here was spot on ,freezing cold and just what we needed to start our holiday off on the right foot ,only negative was price ,you can't get away with the fact that ALL airport pubs,cafés,bars and restaurants are expensive ,I find it strange considering the price of the duty free outlets offering great deals on alcohol but it is what it is and it didn't detract from our visit,if you're in Liverpool John Lennon Airport it's a bar to most definitely check out in Departures side .

Shocking beer and wine prices, cheaper in London 1 x wine and 1 x beer 16.95. Absolutely a rip off, dirty menus and sticky tables

Was so looking forward to breakfast here before our holiday but...was not great . Ordered breakfast , no butter apparently for our toast as ran out and had to ask for more items that were missing. Staff not very friendly or welcoming. Was very disappointed as could be amazing here . Great location watching the runway , just need more attention to detail and happy staff as we are going on holiday and its part of the experience. Love Liverpool Airport but felt dissapointed this time . Was not cheap either .

This was the first spot I came across and was dreading the typical airport bar food and service. I have just read some of the reviews and I don't recognise this as my experience. I set the bar high. Sour dough toast and scrambled egg. The toast was lovely and crispy and the scrambled egg was very tasty. I have never had scrambled egg like this ever in my lifetime (not sure if it comes from a packet) but it was a delight for calorie counters. It was like very dry micro powder but very tasty. Yes very unusual - the best part was the table service. Using the app and ordering a really great guy came over and was so friendly and pleasant. Wow. This was a good sitting spot to while away a few hours before the flight. A breakfast beer also managed to find its way to my table - cold, dry and lovely. For the record I didn't recognise the dirty food ridden floor that other reviewers have mentioned. I am not disputing their posts just to say I think the staff and management have improved their cleaning regime. Thanks to the staff at THE CABIN BAR for good service and a friendly easy place to sit and consume edible morsels that won't break the bank. If you complain about airport charges here just try Swedish living.

Lass behind bar was friendly and welcoming. Didn't eat so can't comment on food but drinks fine & service with a smile. Delayed 3 hours by easyJet so made it a little more manageable. Could do with a quick sweep and tables wiped over yes, but quick turnover over footfall and limited resources behind the bar would explain that. Cheers

Tables, menus and floors dirty! No one was attending to the unclean tables until a lovely gentleman called Robert starting buzzing around cleaning the place he was great, when I spoke to him I mentioned about the uncleanness and he said he came upstairs to help clean although in our opinion there were plenty of staff already there which could have done this job they just choose not too. 5 stars for Robert well done too him.

Wow. Absolutely the worst food and service I have ever had in any airport anywhere. Their signature burger was disgusting and unedible. The fish finger sandwich was also terrible. Avoid at all costs and go anywhere else.

We visited here for breakfast on an early flight, as a hopeful alternative instead of going to the Kissing Gate which has previously been dreadful. The lady serving was miserable, bolshy and totally disinterested. There were several wooden coffee stiring sticks on the floor by the bar and she just kept walking over them not bothering to pick them up. So lazy. I ordered smashed avocado on sourdough with 2 poached eggs. It came as spread avocado (which is a feat in itself) with no eggs. I asked about the eggs and the chef went to check the order, then came back and said there were no eggs. Mr J3 ordered a bacon butty with mushrooms. Chef came back and told him there were no mushrooms. This place is offering cooked breakfasts by the way and therefore missing two ingredients already. I get it though...there's a captive audience, so no need to make any effort. If this place was in a village or town it wouldn't last 5 minutes. Embarrassed for whoever comments on these reviews, as there really is nothing positive to say.

Awful start to a holiday. Ordered through the app, but was then told some items not in stock. Was told smoked salmon was frozen so would arrive after the rest of the food and appeared cooked when it finally arrived. Ended up getting a partial refund. But won’t be eating at Liverpool Airport again as all the restaurants appear to be managed by the same company Generally a much better choice of food/drink at Manchester Airport

Just because we save our hard earned money through the year to have a getaway doesn't mean GREEDY bar owners in airport departure lounges can rip our eyeballs out charging £5.80 for a FLAT pint of Heineken. Totally disgraceful. GET A GRIP

Tables where filthy and empty glasses everywhere. Literally one member of staff on and large queues. I bought 2 large glasses of wine and 2 beers and the bill came to £34!! Ironically the second round was even dearer even though it was the same order?

Perhaps the shock of paying nearly £7 for a pint may have been easier to cope with had it come with a smile. Cheaper to book Aspire Lounge with free bar and food at £26.99. Surely the overheads don't justify such inflated rates for all beverages charged to customers with stuck airside

Popped in to have a drink before a flight, place was empty and we were wondering why, went up to the bar on Monday 12th March around 12.30-1pm and met the most miserable barmaid I have came across in my life, asked for a draught beer to hear “we’ve got no draught” no apology etc, I enquired about cocktails that were on the menu “we aren’t doing cocktails today” to which I responded why is that? To hear “cos we are not” to which I said well thanks for your help and we grabbed our bags and walked out! You should be trying to keep people in your bar rather than ushering them out, it’s the only way you will make money and build a good reputation, terrible training from the “management”

Rude no personality asked for a coke paid for it realised it was come zero told her my daughter would not drink it gave me a refund in coins from the rudest supervision who throw the money at me told her I paid by card she said she couldn't refund to my card think they can treat people that way because we are going home just letting people know who are going through Liverpool airport stay well clear of this place

It's one of the first bars that you see as you enter the main department area of John Lennon Airport and in all honesty you should bypass it.

The first bar people see. Poor service,dirty uncleared tables, the absolutely most expensive bottle of wine i have drank in a crap hole!

This is the 3rd time I have been in this airport in recent months and every single time the coffee machine has not been working and I have had to go elsewhere!

£6.49 for a pint of Peroni. Very slow service with only one person behind the bar. Chairs dirty and tables sticky - and it’s only lunchtime. And to think we came here because I thought the Kissing Gate bar downstairs was a bit skanky! Bit silly to have a sign on the bar asking for tripadvisor ratings when so much needs sorting. Won’t be back I’m afraid.

The bar prices are very overpriced even for an airport and they conveniently had sold out of both house red and house white wines resulting in paying over £1 more per glass. The lager prices were also exorbitant.

£6 a pint and you too can sit on seats like this! Bar person reliably/proudly tells me "it's the most expensive bar". Avoid!

They say you should never go to the first establishment you see. That certainly applies at John Lennon airport at an establishment called the Cabin Bar.

I cannot believe just how bad this place is. There are 5 people ‘working’ (and I use that term loosely!). Only one of them serving, mindblowingly slowly. I thought I would be queuing until my return flight came back! The guys collecting glasses weren’t wiping tables so they just got stickier! At £5.25 a pint I would expect gold star service but got the opposite! I could run that place on my own and serve people quicker and with a smile so if you want me I will work for 3x their pay and you will never receive another complaint!!!! This business would not survive on the high street but because of its position In The airport will no doubt survive!! They must be selling half the amount they could as I keep seeing people give up queuing and going elsewhere! Not a good start to people’s holidays! They had a sign asking for feedback so here it is. Many others have said the same so I guess it won’t change! Where is a wethers when you need one!!!

No prices for draught beers and spirits are doubles unless you ask for a single. Because they're a 'doubles bar's £16.25 for a pint and a G&T.; No wonder they don't put spirit of beer prices in the menu.

Just been there now, & it was a 20 minute wait for an elderflower gin cocktail as had no elderflower, so we decided to get a bottle of rose wine which they didn’t have , so then asked for Guinness & black currant which they didn’t have either of !!!

What a Dump., Tables were filthy., no one cleared any in all the time we sat there., Young girl with Blondish hair behind the bar, was more concerned with going out the back somewhere to hide, and no doubt check her mobile phone than serving Customers. We asked for drinks and a coffee., coffee machine was broken apparently., but to be honest, she looked too tired to make one anyways. No greetings., no interaction, drinks were thrown at you. We had just flown in from Ibiza., where service is a way of life., maybe you shouldn't work in the service industry if you don't like it?

Views are the best thing about this bar. Drinks are quite pricey but they do have a decent cider on tap.

On the first impression good refit, but it ends there!!! The highly microwaved bacon offering early morning is small and expensive, offered sauce along with it, got a bottle with a top which is disgusting, see the pic. Music at 0530 thought I was Ibiza, so loud. Expensive, not good value and poor product. Refurbished but no improvement!!

This was my first visit to The Cabin Bar in Liverpool airport and as airport bars go it was not to bad.

Went here with family and friends... Very friendly staff and relaxing atmosphere! Very clean Big menu choice Will definitely visit again

We just had drinks here and were shocked by the wine prices. It cost all but £10 for a 250ml glass of average pinot grigio. Subsequently discovered there are cheaper bars elsewhere in the airport, although with not the same view of the airport and the Mersey beyond.

Nice location within the airport (airside) but drinks menu had prices for cocktails and wine and spirits but apparently for draft or bottle they don’t have to display prices so we overheard staff saying that? Mmmm strange first time we have come across this . Nice cold beer , pleasant staff and a chance to look out over the water and watch the planes going by.

Really enjoyed my visit here was able to enjoy my experience with the help of chris on the bar as he had very good knowledge of the wines as I'd never seen any of them before and was able to select one similar.

What a lovely addition to the airport. Staff are so welcoming and helpful. Definitely worth a visit.
