The location is beautiful we stopped here as we were going swimming but I have to say we were very disappointed in the food no rolls as it was too late £6.80 for panini with cheese and some chutney is too much wouldn’t eat there again

Great little stop off point whilst you’re walking around beautiful Loch Lubnaig! The Cabin team are friendly and the hot chocolate is delicious. Called twice during our visit to the local area.

I was on a highlands tour when I stopped here. Got the hot chocolate with marshmallows innit and a piece of carrot cake and it was so delicious! I think it is one of the best carrot cake and hot chocolate I’ve ever eaten during my trip to UK!

We grabbed a couple of coffees and sat on the lochside picnic tables. Its a scenic loch with a pebble/stony beach. You need to pay for the car park, even if you are buying items from the Cabin.

The young girl serving me was very helpful but an older 'lady' kept interrupting. She was rude. I am partially sighted & she told me to read the menu instead of asking what was available. We stop there often but will avoid it in future

Brilliant little cafe. Passed here many times but never thought to stop - my loss. Very busy car park due to the weather but cafe very quiet. Had a great cappuccino and a cracking lemon cake, all for £5. Great service and even better cake!! Don’t pass it by / well worth a stop.

I'm a regular visitor to this beautiful spot. Loch Lubnaig is one of the most impressive locations in the Trossachs, and the Cabin is a welcome stopping point off the main road north, a few miles beyond Callander. Very nice hot drinks, good selection of freshly prepared snacks and cakes, friendly staff and unbeatable views.

I see a lot of glowing reviews, but I must have missed something, or they missed it. The coffee was watery, the cake was dry, the sandwiches were measly, and the service was very slow. And be aware this is just a small serving counter, with picnic tables outside - not actually a cafe. Hopefully you'll have better luck.

The must have and go to place after a dip in the Loch. All year round these guys are serving up freshly cooked food to order along with homemade soup and absolutely fabulous cakes/bakes. It's a big thumbs up from the wild swimming community.

This part of Scotland (like most parts!) is absolutely beautiful with its superb loch, lush scenery and the town of Callander. We stopped here and were not disappointed. We found cheerful staff, good drinks and really lovely cakes and snacks. We shall remember it as we often come by the location. An excellent find.

The Cabin always makes you smile. Excellent takeaway with great service, coffee, snacks, cakes and charming staff. If your travels take you along the shores of Loch Luibnaig it’s worth stopping in for a short brake to enjoy the splendour of the location and a fresh coffee at the cabin. The home baking, selection of fresh snacks and wonderful coffee will make you journey memorable, no mater if it’s foggy, rainy or glorious sunshine. You’ll always have a warm welcome from the staff, a view that’s always changing and is simply stunning. Try their hot chocolate on a cold day .... marshmallows and cream ~ simply delicious.

The Loch Lubnaig Cabin deals with a lot of the smaller tour buses that pass by on the way to the highlands. The staff are always cheerful, friendly and have time to answer questions or have a chat with visitors. On top of all that they work well as a team and your never waiting long on your order. The food menu is all cooked fresh (but they do have a warm oven for those who need to rush away) with the bacon and sausage sourced from a nearby farm. The bacon rolls are amazing (ask for an extra few slices, it's worth the cost) The cakes are all homemade and never fail to dissappoint. If they have it, make sure you try the toasted banana bread with butter as well.(goes well with the flat white coffee)

We were a bit shocked when we arrived to find the "campsite" just a small car park. It had beautiful views right next to Loch Lubnaig but there was no power for the campervan, no shower facilities and it was right next to the main road. We decided to move to another caravan park and tried to get a refund for this one. Refund request was rejected as the website had stated what it did not have. Interesting that we did not notice these details when we checked the website since it had beautiful photographs. Moral of the story is to check for reviews in addition to website information. Nonetheless it really had beautiful view of Loch Lubnaig so was worthwhile stopping by.

Stopped off here on the way back from a road trip, disappointed that they refused to fill our cups, saying the owner forbade it! Instead made coffee in takeaway cup then poured it into our reusable ones...missing the point? In this day and age with the attempt to reduce waste -most places offer a few pence off to encourage environmental care and reduce waste. Get with the times. Also no Gluten free bread or snacks (which is only a concern if this is your requirement. ) The coffee was however very nice.

Our family of 5 & dog decided to camp here for one night whilst we did a scout of the area, we ended up staying the maximum of 3 nights! The location on the side of Loch Lubnaig is stunning the only reason I’ve only given 4 stars is its proximity to the road (just the barrier ,hedge, footpath separates you). The gentleman that runs cafe is lovely, so friendly and welcoming( he gets 5*)the food is lovely (5*)beef burgers definitely recommended. Lots to do in the area, facilities are basic but that’s all we wanted. Clean toilets, well maintained and outside pot washing area and drinking water. Fire pits & picnic table plus bbq stand available with each pitch. We stayed on No9 which is the last one, felt more private and we had our own little shingle beach. Will definitely be returning even if it’s just for a scone!

I stop here regularly when out for a drive and now not long passing my bike test, out on my motorbike too. Loch Lubnaig is a great stop with a great back drop, looks especially enchanting on a foggy day. The Cabin is great. Always fresh hot & cold food and drinks, served by lovely staff. This is a must stop for me on the road north.

We've stopped here several times and the teas and coffees and snacks are great. It's in a beautiful location and is a very convenient place to stop. However, despite there being three staff working the queue was long as they were so disorganised. Folk ordering hot snacks and drinks were served hot food then waited ages for drinks by which time their snacks were cold. Wrong change, wrong orders given, double orders made - it was crazy! Must've been a bad day.

Considering we visit Loch Lubnaig & The Cabin about once a month and know the good folk who work there, I feel embarressed NOT to have written a review for them. Well, they serve great coffee and if you have time/money, try their lamb burgers! No table service, but enough picnic tables around. Friendly staff with good local knowledge, and clean toilets on site. Loo, brew & view. What more do you want?

This little cabin needs to sell itself more. Stopped by for breakfast - roll with bacon and egg has never tasted better. They also do home baking - and I mean bake in the little cabin when stuff runs out. Had the pleasure of a fruit scone straight out of the oven. The place may be small and ok you need to eat either on one of the picnic tables beside the loch or in your car, but it's like an Aladdins cave of goodies and the guy serving/baking/cooking is a real character. Will definitely be back

This wee cafe has a great wee menu. You cant sit in but there are picnic tables all around and parking. I had the Highland Cow Burger which was delicious and my daughter had the lamb burger. These are from the owners herd and cooked to order so be prepared to wait. The fruit cake was to die for too. The prices are great and not a rip off. The menu includes sandwiches, the usual filled rolls, tea coffee soup and wonderfully home baked cakes. The view though was breathtaking. It was a chilly October morning and the mist was clearing, the colours were beautiful. You can also camp next to The Cabin and as it opens at 8am and closes and 6 pm (at the moment) it would be great for campers too. I will come again, definitely!

Dropped by today after it was highly recommended from someone on my mum's walking group. The large beef and lamb burgers are locally sourced, tasted superb and were freshly cooked to order. The home baking looked pretty good.. Lovely hot coffee too. Fabulous views as well so hard to beat. Not a sit in place, but picnic tables are available by the loch and lots of parking. Definitely one of the best places to eat in the area - and I've tried most them. Just open till 5pm so worth a visit if you are passing.

Stopped here to check out Loch Lubnaig...the sun was out and frankly you will be hard pressed to find a prettier place on a sunny day. Initially thought it was just a car park but then saw the small cafe front. We ordered a Scottish beef burger and a minted lamb burger made from produce of the land owner's own farm in Callander. Simply prepared and heavenly. The burger was truly well above anything else we had eaten on our roadside stops in Scotland the previous few days. If we are ever in the locality again, we are definitely stopping for a delicious burger by the loch side. There are comfortable tables and benches by the Loch for a sit down lunch.

Gracias

We popped in here for lunch while passing for the first time and were glad we did. The service was good, very quick and efficient, staff were very friendly. There is a good selection on the menu and even a dog menu, which our dogs loved! The soup was delicious and toasties were tasty but a little burnt around the sides so we couldn't even bite into some of them. They have no disabled parking which is disappointing. We will definitely pop in again if passing!
