Absolutely loved visiting here for an evening. Had such a great night with the people we met here. Thank you so much for all the laughs from everyone there. Along with the great conversation. And thank Craig for the water and aspirin for Beth’s hangover the next morning. 😆 Oh and heading made me some delicious and much needed hot chocolate! So good and the sprinkles were a great addition. Could not have asked for better people to spend the evening with. This bar/pub is worth the visit and such a gorgeous location.

Stumbled across this pub in the woods while staying nearby. Only intended to pop in for a quick drink before dinner, ended up staying for hours. Open fires, Berlin-esque club music interspersed with Mungo Jerry…weird in a good way 👽. Like others have said, the landlord is a cool dude who makes you feel like you’re the only person in the room. Pizzas were uniquely good cooked in a wood fired oven under the magical twinkle of fairy lights 🧚‍♀️🍄. I truly haven’t been to a place like it. I think you either get it or you don’t.

We went along hoping the menu might have more than pizza. It didn't. The decor is refreshingly different to the Tartan schmaltz you otherwise get in the area. There is no lighting from the car park to the building which is a health and safety issue and should be resolved as priority. The pizza was ok but very dry. Personally I think all pizza should have passata as standard along with mozzarella. The barman (the owner?) kept turning the music up and 'photobombed' the blackboard menu when my wife tried to photograph it so we could check the toppings at our table. He thought this was very funny. If he was an employee rather than the owner I can't imagine this would be tolerated. We couldn't chat and got to the point of asking for doggie bags so we could leave. After my wife paid and was putting her purse away the barman grabbed her for an uninvited hug. He then marched out and challenged me to shake his hand to demonstrate that we'd had a nice time - which we hadn't. It was not dissimilar to and as pleasant as being challenged to a fight. Against my better judgement I extended my hand which he predictably attempted to crush and I had to pull away. Please don't grab people unless it's made very clear they want to be. We hardly spoke a word to you and it was inappropriate. Had we been chatting happily and got to know about your business it might have been different. Next time we're in the area we'll drive that little bit further and go to Callander to eat out.

We planned a walk round a visit to the Byre Inn as we had good memories from a previous visit. Today was disappointing as the only food on offer was a bowl of soup and some bread. They do wood fire pizza but they had finished for the day. Also there was no draught beer as they don’t get any in over winter. Four soups and four drinks for £48 felt too expensive as it was a small bowl of soup and we had to get them reheated. I would like to visit again in summer months to see if it’s better than today but it’s definitely not a place I would visit again during winter months

We stopped for a refreshment late on a Sunday afternoon. The pub garden, dominated incongruously by an old red London bus, looked a bit unloved but we went into the bar anyway. A group had taken all the comfortable seats so we perched on bar stools with an upturned barrel for a table. My wife doesn't drink and I was driving so something non-alcoholic was called for. We were told that the Byre Inn does not serve coffees or teas so as not to compete with the tearoom up the road (closed when we passed). They have no soda water tap so soda water and lime was not an option. There was no pineapple juice; orange or apple were the only choices available and the orange when poured seemed to have a small black foreign body floating in it. We ended up with two cans of Coke which we drank from the cans because the barman had not washed his hands since coming in from the garden, and then wiped the glasses with a cloth of unknown cleanliness. Two Cokes with no ice cost us just over £6. There was no toilet paper in the ladies' toilet. We drank up quickly and left. We won't be coming back.

I visited here for a drink on a Wednesday evening with my husband and children as we were staying nearby on holiday. It’s a great little pub with a very friendly atmosphere. The bar manager was friendly and chatty. Sadly, it was very overpriced for a friendly local pub and standard drinks. We paid around £20 for a large glass of merlot, a pint of cider (warm Rosie Pig from a box on a bar) and 2 cans of Fanta. If it wasn’t for such silly prices we’d have definitely visited again.

This allowed me and my wife to chill for a bit without our kids demanding our attention. A relaxed meal that we do not usually get. Jason and S st haron were extremely welcoming and we had some good conversations. When it came time to leave, our kids were upset and wanted to stay. Yes, it's a quirky and unusual pub slightly off the beaten track. Check out the London Red Routemaster bus (Night route 29 to Camden!) parked outside... and yes, the hosts are welcoming and friendly. I liked the pub (having been once before around 2009 when it had a previous ownership). I only stopped for a drink and didn't eat. I enjoyed my low-alcohol cider, with a couple of frozen lime-slice ice cubes - a nice touch. But it was very pricey - £5 for a low-alcohol 500 ml bottle makes the cost of a soft drink £10 per litre! I think that's overpriced, when the average pub will serve a pint of normal cider (more than 500 ml) for around £4.50 to £5. A pity about the steep price of a non-alcoholic drink. I always expect some sort of mark-up, but this was overkill. Other aspects are good if you like rustic quirky pubs in a nice setting.

We came across this place whilst camping nearby and spent a great afternoon here. Owner was friendly and generously gave us the means to start a fire back at camp, had great chat and made us feel at home. Sasha the collie had a good time too :D only thing that was missing was a whisky ;) 🤘

Cute little country pub with nothing on the shelves and no beer! Apparently sold out after a busy weekend (fair enough) but to charge £5 for a 330ml Corona is daylight robbery.

Very original pub/restaurant! The cook and his wife are warm and very funny people. We had a great time. The pizza’s are top. Good atmosphere. Lots of space for the children to play in the garden.

We came here as a pit stop on our walk round Loch Venacha, we arrived at midday and were told it wasn't open yet as the staff hadn't yet arrived. So we went for a wander and came back 20mins later. We were told that...

£9:50 for 1 pint of lager and a can of coke. £19 for a pizza. Dont accept cash. Over priced and overated. Not even worth 1 star !!!

Visited with my son and had a nice pint there. The music was great too ( played through a very good sound system). We enjoyed it but it could be considered a bit of an odd place. Will let you decide.

We camped overnight in the car park. An afternoon hiding from the rain, sat next to an open fire. Staff were great, serving with a smile and a laugh. Pizza menu was good. Live music started at 8pm and was an acoustic set - very good! Glad we stayed - quirky but recommended!

We received a warm welcome here from the friendly landlord. Enjoyed fantastic local ale, great Scottish gin & delicious wood-fired pizza outside in front of a roaring log fire with some good tunes playing. Comfortable atmosphere - well worth a visit.
