The Butlers Arms in Blackburn with Darwen

Back off holiday, hungry! Tuesday around 6:45pm. Quite busy, different groups of people in. Good menus, different schemes of choice. We shared a fabulous bacon, black pudd starter & both had the £12 f, c & m peas! Brilliant! Neither of us could finish! Staff brilliant! About £55 with a couple of drinks!

We visited The Butlers for my mum's 90th Birthday meal. There were 6 of us and the food was excellent. The staff are very pleasant, especially the young man who always appears front of house! I visit The Butlers occasionally and it is always first class! 5 💫 from us!

Great early afternoon lunch. Lovely atmosphere, prompt service and staff so polite and helpful. We had fish and chips (batter lovely and light) and steak and ale pie both with chips which were light and fluffy. Then topped off with cheesecake and slice of lemon drizzle cake 🍰 which were scrummy, would have had sticky toffee pudding but I only like it with custard!!!

Excellent lunch - shared a starter of Spicy Chicken Wings which were super - then one of us had Fish and Chips and the other the Fish Platter - both very nicely served, more than plentiful, and beautifully cooked. Rather a tiny table for two somewhat squashed into a corner of the dining room - but other than that everything really very good.

Had family down from Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 jenni and her team were fantastic from start to finish, all our meals were delicious, will definitely be going back, many thanks to Jenni for looking after us 👍🏼

Stopped here for a quick Sunday lunch. I've never before visited this pub, but we were in the area and needed to eat. I kept things simple and had the Sunday roast beef. My wife ordered fish and chips. The fish and chips were good. Lovely properly cooked thick chips, crispy on the outside fluffy on the inside. The same however cannot be said about the roast beef. In summary it was terrible. Thick and tough slices slices of beef that had been cooked, cooked, cooked some more and then cooked again by the look of it. All sat on a bed of mashed potatoes. Who wants mash on a roast dinner? The gravy had been poured on, so the mash was a mush. Only a few roast spuds and some watery cauliflower cheese and few carrots and greens. A simply terrible roast dinner. The ale was passable, but only just.

Absolutely amazing. We had a family birthday celebration here for 100 people. Julie organised the event and suggested a BBQ on the large terrace behind the pub overlooking the bowling green. It was wonderful. Nathan the chef BBQ-ed outside and the whole kitchen team were fantastic. The food was delicious. Myles ensured the whole event ran smoothly and that everyone was happy and well fed. Cain and the bar team were brilliant and made sure that drinks were flowing. Our talented musicians were easily accommodated on the terrace and performed beautifully. Nothing was too much trouble for the Butlers team. All requests were met with a smile. I had so many comments on how great the food was, how lovely the staff were and what a fabulous setting it was. Luckily the sun shone, but the build up was stress free, as Julie had a contingency plan in case it didn’t. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this venue. So very happy that our local is well and truly back and better than ever.
