The Bute Arms in Rhondda Cynon Taf

Booked a table for a birthday meal, paid a deposit and had to pre-order (wasn't a big deal). The staff were really friendly, drinks were reasonable. The food was tasty and really good value. The place was busy so it's obviously a popular place.

Not good for value for money won't be coming back again poor quality

When here for a family birthday ,food was great and tasty, service was great. Whole experience was.very pleasant

Has a breakfast in here this morning and sorry to the food was lukewarm and greasy not what I was expecting could do better sorry to say didn’t say anything at the time as I hate doing things like that so hence the review

Terrible Service and Disappointing Food "We recently visited the Bute Arms in Aberdare and were extremely disappointed with our experience. The service was incredibly slow, with an excessive wait time for our food to arrive. To make matters worse, the waitress displayed a terrible attitude throughout our visit, which made the entire experience unpleasant. The food itself was not worth the lengthy wait. We were so dissatisfied that we ultimately requested a refund. I would strongly advise against dining at the Boot Arms unless significant improvements are made to both the service and the quality of food.

Living Local to this pub , Shame it’s a dump , cold food , bad clientele, rude staff stay well clear, had a breakfast here never again

One of the best places to start a great night out. Wonderful and inexpensive meals and drinks served here. Usually an entertainer on the weekends too

I had a double bacon n cheese burger and fries, it's one of the nicest burgers I've had. A good meal with a pint.

Been here around 2 months ago an actually really liked this pub! Great service and friendly staff Food is very traditional pub food that you would expect from the UK Had a very great time and it was affordable too!

Visited here for a Sunday lunch with family, not been here since covid. The Sunday lunch was lovely and plenty of veggies as well. Nice deserts as well and reasonably priced, just make sure you book.

Eat as much as you like vegetables just ask for more vegetables .peas ,sweed ,cabbage, carrots and roasted potatoes will definitely call back .staff supper friendly

Lovely place but was empty when we visited though so not much atmosphere. Main meals were lovely, good value for money. Had brownie and icecream for dessert which was completely tasteless so would definitely stay clear of that. £6 for a desert seemed a bit pricey to seeing as the main meals were so reasonably priced.

Had a very good lunch. Freshly made food, delicious taste. Good price. I can recommend this pub.

The pub was very accommodating booking 10 of us at the last minute. The food is lovely and generous portions too. Cocktails are good as well. Staff were friendly.

Great pub, great food, great price.

Last minute booking. Visited this pub numerous times. Both old & new owners. Sunday lunch upon booking was asked what meat we wanted. No problem. Issue was room was cold more so with door continuously opening (can’t be helped) Lunch arrived all cold, heavy had a skin over the top of it. Nobody came to check if all was ok. Very disappointed

Food is really nice - Sunday dinner, beef to be exact for me. There is alot of veggies and you can ask for more if you find it's not enough. Tables actually to small for the service. Only niggle from me was the ice-cream for children wasn't vegan - but big John sorted us out with a vegan cheesecake for our non dairy children to try. Just remember to book early as it does get busy.

Three of us called in for a quick lunch and were pleased with the food. We had the burgers/scampi/pie & chips. Portion size not overly large and price ok. Tables and floor could be cleaner though (we sat near the front door and bar area).

My friends and I opted for the "Beast" burger and were far from disappointed. It was a substantial and intimidating foe, juicy an succulent. I make burgers and this caused me to question my process. A genuinely superb experience in all possible senses (A young and comeseretsly professional young lady took our order, replete with very specific requirements) Each meal was exactly as ordered, delicious and suitably appreciated. Well done, it was exemplary!!!

First time. Great Sunday dinner. Definitely coming back. Great for fussy eaters.

Absolutely beautiful food we had salad and jacket potato was more than enough price were fab and also had toddler meal which was plenty I wouldn't order the skinny fries for the baby again tho as we're too crispy and hard for her but they'd be fab for adults and older children overall was lush and can't wait to go again

Fantastic venue can't fault it, spotless facilities, ambient atmosphere, great staff. Had traditional breakfast.

Went for a meal recently. Both tables 7 & 8 had a disgusting smell about them, like a dead rat! Put us off eating so one drink and we left. Get this sorted. Phew!

I was skeptical about having food here after the pubs previous reputation of food, since then though the pub has been taken over, and I was still skeptical thinking Jon (the newer owner) is quite popular in the town so reviews might be biased. I visited today, and it was quiet in there but the music was good (some 80s going on), the lady serving us was very friendly, interacted and took interest in my children, my oldest loved her. Plenty of choice on the menu, food come quite fast, but not so fast that it makes you suspicious of a microwave meal. The actual food took me by surprise, it was good value, a sizeable amount. The food was great, probably the best I've had in a few years and I've visited quite a few restaurants/pubs in south wales which havent lived up to expectations, but the bute exceeded them. Childs food only cost £1 and was a substantial amount and she loved it, didn't leave much on the floor, we picked up as much as possible, if we didn't like the food we would've left it there. Will be visiting again and have already recommended to others.

Excellent food sausage and ice cream was kids meal for £1 with any adult meal

The breakfast was really good and definitely one of the best around. 3 of us had big breakfast with tea and coffee at an exceptional price of £20. Been to a lot of different places in the area some costing double and nowhere near as nice. Will definitely be returning.

Went to try the breakfast and wasn't disappointed. The small one was just enough and came with toast and a large coffee for under a fiver! Will recommend to anyone and will definitely be going back.

Enjoying a breakfast there. Food was cooked well and clean. Chef's are spot on. I took a gang of 12 for a Xmas outing in 2023 and all enjoyed. Comfortable atmosphere where you can express yourself.

Advertised on Google as dog friendly, however this was most definitely not the case ! Also found the staff abrupt & not helpful at all when I informed them they advertised as dog friendly on Google ! Reply was that’s nothing to do with us !

Good atmosphere and good food had 2 good nights out lately great atmosphere one with disco one with live band

We had fish n chips, mushy peas and tartare sauce we waited 45 minutes for an over cooked fish with very dark batter and dry fish inside the chips were also dry and bland even the mushy peas were dry and the tartare sauce was watery ...it was such a bad meal, needless to say myself and two friends will never ever return to the Bute Arms.

Second time 8 of us have visited The Bute and to say we were extremely happy with the food and service once again is an understatement. Added bonus was the disco to keep the evening going. Will definitely be going back for more.

1st night in the but arms last and we won the pub quiz.

Friendly helpful staff, nice food, good portions, good atmosphere.

Came across this fab place whilst waiting to go to a show. The food was amazing, the staff was brilliant. There were 9 of us, and they rearranged the seating & then even though we ordered as 3 groups, they brought all our food out as one. The portions are big but cooked to perfection, especially the chunky chips 😋😋

Went here today (a busy Sunday) after booking online. Unfortunately the online ordering isn't actually right and doesn't book reservations, but the member of staff was really helpful and got us a table anyway. We had a little wait at the bar to order but it was to be expected for a busy Sunday so we didn't mind at all. We had 2 adult pork Sunday dinners and 2 children beef Sunday dinners. The amount of food you get for your money is amazing, literally a table full of all the different veg etc. The server had forgotten to bring out the roasties, but was happy to bring out a fresh batch, and they were quite possibly the nicest roast potatoes I've ever had! Had a few servers asking if everything was ok when passing, so felt well attended to. Will definitely be returning in future.

Sunday dinners are bland, no taste , every thing is over cooked , potatoes like mush as well as the roasted potatoes, no taste, no taste on the meat , probably nothing is cooked with salt in the water, vegetables are a disappointment, food is cold when ordered for delivery.

Sunday roast was outstanding would highly recommend Breakfast is a must too

A first time for me at this venue and I have to say it was very enjoyable, not too many in this particular night, but the audience in front of me were excellent.

The Sunday dinner was lovely, the meat and the roasties were lovely but the veg was tasteless and no horseradish to go with the beef. The place was freezing. The air conditioning was full on. So the food went cold straight away. I wasn't impressed.

Update for Sunday lunch. Pretty good. Beef was nice quality, stuffing excellent, large portion. Very satisfying. Dessert was poor Decent pub grub. The chicken in mushroom sauce was excellent, rump steak cooked to order and a good piece of meat. Burgers are tasty with generous cheese. Hunters chicken a little odd, never seen it served in a dish like that, reminded me of a lasagna. Overall thought the mains were good and enough to get me to go back in the future. But order wisel Cheesecake was definitely frozen and just chucked on the plate. Poor dessert selection just 2 out 6 choices available. Seems poor planning in the kitchen Service friendly and no issues. Oddly we had to pre-order a day ahead which I've never experienced in a pub before. It's not complicated cooking so unsure why so much advance prep was needed Nice decoration, I like what they have done with the place

Pub 7/13 on our Golden Mile! This was where one of the boys kicked the bucket, all over the table! Fortunately, we made him clean up his own mess and tipped the waitress for the inconvenience. She was great and deserves a raise! The drinks poured were divine here! Journey to the toilets reminded me a little of Spoons, but that just made me feel like I was on an adventure! Drink up, let’s boo boo!

Bit of a hidden gem! Make no mistake this is good, honest, reasonably priced food and not fine dining, but isn't that what most of us are looking for? If you want the mixed grille, be very hungry as it's a big plate! Will return next time I'm in the vicinity.

Me and my friend had a lovely beef& chicken dinner loads of veg,stuffing didn't have to wait long it was lovely and hot the staff friendly and helpful definitely go again highly recommend

Excellent food, good prices and lovely san Miguel lager on tap.

The two coffee machines didn't work. Had to wait for the over worked & over wight staff to get stuff done. The bar staff didn't have any clean cups for hot drinks. It's not somewhere I would normally eat as it's probably Icelands frozen food anyway. Don't waste your money here, unless you have no teast but. You'll be disappointed.

A cracking little pub in the middle of aberdare Town centre. The staff we're friendly and helpful , I had a mixed grill 10/10 best I've had in a while would highly recommend 👌 😋

Lamb chops were supermarket frozen ,very thin,asked for rare they were well done, mushrooms served chopped so no flavour. Received a 50% refund so in essence paid 7.50 for chips.

The food is to die for and 50% off food till the 26th January Happy days
