Excellent food sausage and ice cream was kids meal for £1 with any adult meal

The breakfast was really good and definitely one of the best around. 3 of us had big breakfast with tea and coffee at an exceptional price of £20. Been to a lot of different places in the area some costing double and nowhere near as nice. Will definitely be returning.

Went to try the breakfast and wasn't disappointed. The small one was just enough and came with toast and a large coffee for under a fiver! Will recommend to anyone and will definitely be going back.

Enjoying a breakfast there. Food was cooked well and clean. Chef's are spot on. I took a gang of 12 for a Xmas outing in 2023 and all enjoyed. Comfortable atmosphere where you can express yourself.

Advertised on Google as dog friendly, however this was most definitely not the case ! Also found the staff abrupt & not helpful at all when I informed them they advertised as dog friendly on Google ! Reply was that’s nothing to do with us !

We had fish n chips, mushy peas and tartare sauce we waited 45 minutes for an over cooked fish with very dark batter and dry fish inside the chips were also dry and bland even the mushy peas were dry and the tartare sauce was watery ...it was such a bad meal, needless to say myself and two friends will never ever return to the Bute Arms.

Second time 8 of us have visited The Bute and to say we were extremely happy with the food and service once again is an understatement. Added bonus was the disco to keep the evening going. Will definitely be going back for more.

Came across this fab place whilst waiting to go to a show. The food was amazing, the staff was brilliant. There were 9 of us, and they rearranged the seating & then even though we ordered as 3 groups, they brought all our food out as one. The portions are big but cooked to perfection, especially the chunky chips 😋😋

Went here today (a busy Sunday) after booking online. Unfortunately the online ordering isn't actually right and doesn't book reservations, but the member of staff was really helpful and got us a table anyway. We had a little wait at the bar to order but it was to be expected for a busy Sunday so we didn't mind at all. We had 2 adult pork Sunday dinners and 2 children beef Sunday dinners. The amount of food you get for your money is amazing, literally a table full of all the different veg etc. The server had forgotten to bring out the roasties, but was happy to bring out a fresh batch, and they were quite possibly the nicest roast potatoes I've ever had! Had a few servers asking if everything was ok when passing, so felt well attended to. Will definitely be returning in future.

Sunday dinners are bland, no taste , every thing is over cooked , potatoes like mush as well as the roasted potatoes, no taste, no taste on the meat , probably nothing is cooked with salt in the water, vegetables are a disappointment, food is cold when ordered for delivery.

A first time for me at this venue and I have to say it was very enjoyable, not too many in this particular night, but the audience in front of me were excellent.

The Sunday dinner was lovely, the meat and the roasties were lovely but the veg was tasteless and no horseradish to go with the beef. The place was freezing. The air conditioning was full on. So the food went cold straight away. I wasn't impressed.

Update for Sunday lunch. Pretty good. Beef was nice quality, stuffing excellent, large portion. Very satisfying. Dessert was poor Decent pub grub. The chicken in mushroom sauce was excellent, rump steak cooked to order and a good piece of meat. Burgers are tasty with generous cheese. Hunters chicken a little odd, never seen it served in a dish like that, reminded me of a lasagna. Overall thought the mains were good and enough to get me to go back in the future. But order wisel Cheesecake was definitely frozen and just chucked on the plate. Poor dessert selection just 2 out 6 choices available. Seems poor planning in the kitchen Service friendly and no issues. Oddly we had to pre-order a day ahead which I've never experienced in a pub before. It's not complicated cooking so unsure why so much advance prep was needed Nice decoration, I like what they have done with the place

Pub 7/13 on our Golden Mile! This was where one of the boys kicked the bucket, all over the table! Fortunately, we made him clean up his own mess and tipped the waitress for the inconvenience. She was great and deserves a raise! The drinks poured were divine here! Journey to the toilets reminded me a little of Spoons, but that just made me feel like I was on an adventure! Drink up, let’s boo boo!

Bit of a hidden gem! Make no mistake this is good, honest, reasonably priced food and not fine dining, but isn't that what most of us are looking for? If you want the mixed grille, be very hungry as it's a big plate! Will return next time I'm in the vicinity.

Excellent food, good prices and lovely san Miguel lager on tap.

The two coffee machines didn't work. Had to wait for the over worked & over wight staff to get stuff done. The bar staff didn't have any clean cups for hot drinks. It's not somewhere I would normally eat as it's probably Icelands frozen food anyway. Don't waste your money here, unless you have no teast but. You'll be disappointed.

A cracking little pub in the middle of aberdare Town centre. The staff we're friendly and helpful , I had a mixed grill 10/10 best I've had in a while would highly recommend 👌 😋

Lamb chops were supermarket frozen ,very thin,asked for rare they were well done, mushrooms served chopped so no flavour. Received a 50% refund so in essence paid 7.50 for chips.

Lovely food friendly staff no kids great place to go and chill out

My girlfriend and I went for a Sunday lunch yesterday ( 20th November 2022) ... It was just about edible , While the beef was tasty and tender , The chicken was very dry and looked like the sorry frozen chicken fillets you see in Asda ,The Roast potatoes were just a husk with no potato inside , How do you make a roast potato that's empty ? ....the veg was very watery as if it hadn't been drained , All in all a very mediocre experience to say the least , And for the privilege we got charged £22 for both meals , ide say it was only worth around £7 or £8 at best ... Are we going back ? ... No , Not again , Once was enough .

Don't bother! The attitude on the staff is absolutely disgusting, The food also dreadful My partner paid an extra £1 for cheese on a burger which they forgot and when he told a waitress she brought out a plate of two freezing plastic looking slices on a plate and dumped them down, The kitchen staff also shouted "here go and take him his two slices of cheese" which everyone heard, His burger wasn't cooked through and my gammon had a slight tang He didn't eat any of his burger and the waitresses seemed more keen on going for cigarettes and gossiping, As we left we left full plates nobody asked if there was a problem, All the waitresses were sat around a table and went silent as we passed them and then giggled as we moved passed them! Mother's Day was an absolute disgrace with dessert being served as we ate our mains and we're told to hurry up! Both times we didn't speak up as we knew we would have a ear full Tables were filthy aswell. We won't be back!!!

Always a lovely and homely place to visit once in a while. Can't beat their gammon, best in the area in my opinion! Also love nice little smoking area in the shade with the wall heaters for when it's a bit too cold out..!

Had a meal there today with friends , really disappointed and shocked because I've always praised the bute . Quality has gone down hill dramatically. I'd rather pay extra to have better quality . Even the condiments were abysmal. All on my table didn't finish their meal I looked around and everyone was leaving food on their plates.

Got to honest, the best Sunday lunch I've had from a pub and I've tried a few places. Rang at short notcie and within 2 hours was picking it up. There was plenty of food and the gravy was spot on. Definitely recommend.

Had a family meal here last night for fifteen as our brother and sister-in-law are moving to Ireland next month. The food was okay the salmon however was bland, the service was nothing short of rubbish the meals came quickly despite a mix up but when family asked for side dishes they were visibly huffed at, also plates were left on tables for ages after finishing the meal and we weren,t informed that we had to order desserts at the bar which were very poor selection. The waitress was very rude to one of our party and couldn,t be bothered as she was tired. We put a lot of money over that bar between meals and drinks and our night wasn,t special at all, don,t waste your money here people never again.!!!!!

Gutted the food is not the same. What happened to the tasty food & presentation? Prices are still the same though.

Outstanding' modern pub' clean pub' friendly staff' and reasonable prices' had food there yest' (sun 24oct 2021) celebrated 2birthdays with a meal an few drinks' we ordered for a family member who was late turning up' staff memeber (owner penny i think) had a chat to her' took food an reheated it for her' we were avaraging £16 around for 5of us' other staff also very helpful an friendly' looked after us well' thank u guy's

Food is good, with good portion sizes. I'm told they also use locally butchered foods, which I think is awesome in helping sustain local butchers.

Had a Sunday lunch take away today and I have to say it was very disappointing. The potatoes were hard the roasts to and the swede was full of pepper not a nice meal at all. I have had Sunday lunch a few times in the Bute and it has always been a good dinner but I don't know what happened today all of us said it was bad. It put me off having an other dinner from there and I don't like to leave a bad review but I felt I had to as it was below the standard of the food that the Bute usually serves.

Food was fab, service was quick and efficient no waiting for to long before eating, very handy when your having Sunday lunch with little ones.

Best to book before hand if party is large. Food is plentiful and good. Would recommend a visit.

No card payment, wasn't mentioned at time of order... Had to leggit down the road to a cash point to pay for drinks... Not acceptable!
