I've been up here 2nd time and loved it food is brilliant.

A group of us visit each Saturday and once a month for a Sunday carvery. Always excellent and consistent , quality food at competitive prices. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Would recommend this place to anyone.

We came here on a Sunday, for roast dinner, could not fault it at all , food /service were excellent,plenty of nice meat, even the burnt looking potatoes and parsnips were nice especially the spuds( lovely and soft)pricing was good too, glad it was recommended to us and very glad we went, we will be back.

We went on a Sunday for Thier carvery absolutely gorgeous. Only one of ours does not do roast dinner so had sausages Instead. Portions were large too. We didn't know what to expect when we went but every thing was good glad we booked early the queue was quite long when we left .

Very nice place to go for Sunday dinner. Staff are very welcome and very friendly. And a nice car park and lot of disabled bay's

Had a Carvery good went cold quickly but it was a cold day j would recommend it though

4 adults and 2 children 3 different meals. all very nice and the children meals were good value for money. will go back again. we arrived 20mins before the kitchen closed but nothing was too much trouble for the polite friendly staff. big shout out for Weymouth...;)

Wonderful lunch! Scampi, chips, peas and salad. The chips were perfectly crisp on the outside and soft in the middle. Great! Very reasonably priced too.

Booked Sunday lunch. Absolutely delicious carvery, beef, gammon, turkey or a combi of all three. All sorts of veg, excellent service. No way we could eat any dessert.

Not organised, no regular opening times and a sense of chaos.

We were there for a funeral yesterday and what can I say apart from excellent. The food was 1st class the staff were attentive, smiley and thoroughly polite, our 2nd visit and we will definitely call in again when we are in the area next. We would thoroughly recommend this eatery. Thank you for a lovely afternoon on such a sad occasion.

Had lunch today ,first time in 2 1/2 years ,absolutely beaten, Welcome Back x

I am blown away by the positive reviews for this place. I have just left there after eating 4 mouthfuls. The roasties tasted of dirty chip pan oil. The veg was all frozen and the meat was the cheapest meat available. I'm a butcher so I would know! The beef was boiled so no flavour at all. It annoys me because its overpriced for such little effort made for cooking. Never again and I hope at least someone takes note of my review and stays away as well.

Visited with friends and unfortunately the reception from the staff and chef we got was anything other than friendly ! Their customer service is so poor . To hear them winging about being at work and can’t wait to go home was bad enough but then to hear them talking about us and other customers whilst we were stood waiting for drinks was just awful . In fact we left and didn’t wait to be served . The sad thing is we mentioned how awful the staff were to a “regular” and he could tell us this was the norm ! It’s such a shame the staff are so poor as the venue is lovely , it’s clear they shouldn’t be in a customer service role and should maybe consider another form of employment . I did call to speak to a manager but she was unavailable ,and I was told not to bother complaining via their Facebook page as all staff have access and would delete the message ! Really not good enough , we have never felt so unwelcome in a bar/restaurant .

what a difference this time, Sunday carvery long queue but moved along very quickly, food was hot and good choice of veg, the floor staff were exceptional as tables emptied they were there clearing and resetting for the next customer, would have given 5/5 but they can have that next time if it is as good as today, well done to al staff

Been here on a number of occasions. A good carvery for mid week but not so good for Sunday lunch. Nice food when it's fresh but sometimes if it's been hanging around for a while the veg goes quite soggy. Friendly staff and good service and the desserts are very nice especially the chocolate lumpy bumpy and fudge cake.

Although the cavalry isn't the best, it has it up and downs, there are plenty of other things to do here, like the bar, social gatherings, slimming world, events, lovely christmas dinners, bowling, bowls [insde or out], the staff are wonderful, the menu food, although pricey,

Once you’ve had a carvery here, everywhere else pales into insignificance!! My father in law is on his own now and we live 200 miles away, he eats here nearly every day, food is excellent and staff are so helpful and friendly, long may they continue.

My Husband and I often pop to the Bowls Club for Sunday lunch, and it is always without fail lovely. The food is always fresh, very tasty, and well priced. You cannot go wrong with a takeaway, and I would definitely recommend.

we all organised a large meetup of friends fair play there was more than enough room for us all to sit altogether without affecting anyone else, and i love the fact that kids are only allowed for a certain amount of time at night

Came for an unplanned visit, it was busy but we were seated quickly and didn't have to wait long at all for the carvery. The bowls didn't disappoint, the food was beautiful, we enjoyed every bite. Definitely recommend booking before hand if more than 3 of you going. Nice and friendly atmosphere, really pleasant, we enjoyed ourselves and will be coming back 👍🏻😁

Bowls club proved to be a great place to put on a wedding reception. Staff very friendly and helpful. Prices were excellent for drinks, plenty of room to move about including outside patio. Food was. Great hot and tasty. Service first class during the meal. Could not fault it

Myself, my mother and my sister stopped off today for a meal after hearing good reviews,well it was possibly the worse meal we have ever had, the chicken Cesar salad was not Cesar salad the chicken was so dry it had turned hard the bacon was like rubber and the salad and dressing was very bland, I had the dyffryn curry,rice and chips...the rice was nice! Did not taste like a curry at all this was also very bland the meal was overall very disappointing, our toddler had chicken pieces beans and chips this was good for the price and she enjoyed it, one thing I will say is that the staff were very friendly and approachable and did not hesitate to gives us a refund on the sald when I said it was not nice, just a ket down when so many people said it was lovely up there maybe just having and off day...so we will be back to try the carvery..I've give 3 stars because the staff were very nice x

We go for a carvery once ion a while. There is plenty of room, very friendly staff, clean and inviting atmosphere and the food is amazing.

I would always give a good four, but this time no, there was a large party there after a funeral whose food was put out first got to give in to that. But when our meals came my wife’s cod and chips the fish you could hit on the table, cardboard chips, and cold peas, wife did not want me to make a fuss beacause of the party behind us. Now my gammon was swimming in fat I used Four napkins to mop the fat off the plate the curly chips that I did not order a lot of them soggy because of the fat on the plate the peas cold and again swimming in the fat. Had to spit my gammon out as it was all fatty, we called it a day my wife walked out but I did go to the bar to complain about the food, again due to the nature of a large queue at the bar decided to move away and left. We had same meals last week and was a good 4/5 sorry for bad review hope your better next time

Visited the Bowls Club for Sunday lunch with friends. There was a queue for about ten minutes, but the carvery was very good, with a choice of three different meats, and plenty of vegetables, roast potatoes, etc. This is a very popular venue for Sunday lunch, so it will be busy, and a number of families with children, so if you are looking for a peaceful ambience this is not the place to go; on the other hand if you are out for a decent traditional Sunday lunch that is value for money then give it a go.

We went for a Sunday carvery and apart from the queue which took some 40 minutes today, the food was excellent as usual, perfectly cooked fall apart joints of meat and a great selection of fresh vegetables which ended up with a liberal helping of gravy, yummy. Its well worth the wait and will go back again for sure. Thanks to all the hard working team at this great venue. Alun & John.

The carvery here is amazing and good value, the only thing that spoilt the visit was the filthy glasses.

I visited here with family and was pleasantly surprised. Carvery was fresh and very cheap... I haven’t seen a carvery cheaper elsewhere ... Staff seems very friendly and professional at all times and will be returning.

Came here for a 65th birthday meal, booked for 7.30 received food 8.10 which was fine because we were a large group.

This was the first we have visited and was not disappointed, we book late and managed to get in.

Have been here a few times with family. It is an indoor and outdoor bowls centre with a restaurant/club attached. The Sunday carvery is very popular with locals who know how good it is. You choose from a selection of meats, or you could have a bit of everything and then there is loads of different vegetables, roasties etc. You can go up as many times as you want for more veg and there's a good selection of desserts as well. The nut roast is lovely and they will do a vegetarian gravy as well. All that washed down with a pint of Brains and you have a lovely Sunday meal out. Would highly recommend.
