Hawthorn Inn in Rhondda Cynon Taf

Since moving to the area a few months ago, me and my other half have starting using this lovely pub. The food is tasty, well priced and plenty of variety for everyone on the menu. The bar area has that old school proper pub feel about it which I love in a pub. The staff are incredibly welcoming and hard working. Great choice of beers on tap, cracking atmosphere that seems to attract nice people. Everyone in the pub seems friendly and open to having a chat and a laugh. Absolutely brilliant pub!!

I was a little stressed on the day I came here as the road closed and I couldn't get home right away. The woman on staff was really helpful and welcoming and ensured I had everything I needed for my son. Lovely food, and my son enjoyed the play area. Can't wait to come here again!

Best Sunday lunch around and I have to been to quite a few places for Sunday lunch the chef has a excellent talent the gravy is to die for and the whole of dinner is amazing also leanne the lady who looks after us is brilliant nothing too much trouble for her you definitely need to visit this place you don't know what your missing 10 /10

Caribbean Fiesta at The Hawthorne Inn, local charity fundraiser. Good vibes at a local pub, bbq available all day, so can’t comment on menu but according to regulars, the food is very good, so will be trying in the future, friendly staff, even friendlier locals. Cute little garden bar too

Came here the other day. The lady who served us was friendly and helpful and really quick service. Food is always lovely and good prices.

What a wonderful waitress Jo is. She’s is marvellous with children especially with my Nephew who has additional needs. What a beautiful lady couldn’t do any more for us all. Deserves a pay rise. Thank you so much Jo. Food was delicious would highly recommend.

Only stopped for a coffee before picking up my son . Nice tidy pub and the food being served to others looked nice and big portions. Staff are fiendly. Maybe I'll stop for a meal at a later date

This place is lovely... Large play area with climbing frame for the kids. Lots of sports memorabilia from local teams adorn the bar. Darts and pool available to play and all the usual sports channels on the multiple screens throughout the pub. Large covered seating area outside and a huge number of dining tables inside. The whole pub top to bottom was spotlessly clean and it's clear to see Jo and Craig take a real pride in the pub they've owned for 20 years Free carpark and on street parking a real Gem down here in Cardiff

Very quick service. Great service on the bar and nice new York chicken with a few pints. Great outside area too if the sun's out. Ordered food for after I finished my meal with my friends to take home for the wife. Lovely and fresh and boiling hot to take when I was ready. Thanks again

Stopped off for a meal, ordered drinks at the bar and told to take a seat and someone will come and take your order. It wasn't very busy at all. After being seated for 23min no one had come to take our order. The girl behind the bar asked if we had been seen yet ?I told her no. She apologised and took out a pad and asked what would we like. I told her I wanted to pay for my drinks and wouldn't be ordering any food due to the bad service. Certainly would not recommend or visit here again.

We here for a Christmas gathering including three courses, faultless experience (obviously some tweaks available for 5 stars). Nice large place from conservatory, to restaurant, pub to like a sports bar.

Lovely food but really disappointed about the desserts.....we'd asked the two staff to come back to take our dessert orders. It had been a while so we asked them if we could order to be told the kitchen had closed. The attitude from the staff was very poor, bordering on rude.

Called in to charge our EV first and foremost. Got a great welcome from the pub staff; stayed for a drink; we'll come back for lunch next time. Also, brilliant mordern chargers with lots of space. Got the full 75 kW and charged the car in 50 mins. Win-win.

Four of us Sent for lunch. We had four lovely meals. The Steak sandwich, the steak was beautifully cooked and very tender. The Panko coated mozzarella topped with melted cheese & sweet chilli sauce was delicious. The two breakfast brushes one large one medium were amazing. Well done we will return soon.

Staff were very distracted when meals come handed out fine my scampi was lovely but huge let down was my obviously home made chips were not fresh they were burnt which I hate + had been kept warm so soggy + totally inedible only fit for food recycling bag No one come back to ask if meal ok which usually happens because I would said well no everything is not ok ! Unfortunately due to time restrictions+ lift I had leave without complaining in person but I will not be rushing back for a meal again

Lovely little place... love that they do proper chips. Staff were friendly and food was served in a good time. Great place if you want to charge your electric car as there are plenty of changers in the carpark too.

Good pub/restaurant, service excellent, food nice, parking available, no charges.

Firstly they were 3 staff down which might explain why nobody came to our table for ages and then why our food took more than 45 mins to arrive. I ordered pie, mash and peas and the pie was the worst I've ever had as the pastry was rock hard. It's obvious that staff were working as best they could but struggling to operate on the night. The final straw for me, was after our main, we ordered apple and raspberry crumble, only to be told the grill was not working and by then we were too fed up to order any more. Our past experiences here are normally good but sadly the food and service was not up to the mark on this occasion. We also noticed that the portion sizes were not as generous as we had previously experienced.

Went there for a family wake and it was a lovely place, it has been many years since I'd been there and was pleasantly surprised at how lovely inside it was.

We had a family birthday party last night . There was 15 of us. Our meals were excellent they all came out hot and excellent standard. Our waitress was very polite and friendly. She was lovely with everyone. Nothing was too much trouble. Lady on the bar was lovely too. We will definitely be back. Thanks for a lovely birthday evening.

Enjoyed a lovely early evening meal with family. Very tasty corned beef pie, steak ciabatta sandwich, delicious home made chips etc. The staff are a credit to the Hawthorn Inn - Big thank you to MOLLY who helped so much with our baby grandson 👶 She filled the baby's bottle with hot water from the kitchen & also brought an ice bucket in order to cool it 🍼 ELLIE - also was also excellent, thank you CIAN - Fabulous as always ❤️

Brusque waitress but efficient enough. Considering the price the food was not bad. Has its own car park - incredibly full considering the number of people inside. Toilets grubby.

Had my uncles wake here last week and to be fair food was absolutely spot on especially the onion bajis. Staff was really friendly to.
