Called on Friday without booking and was lucky that they accommodated us. Both had fish and chips was a large portion each and quickly served even though all tables were booked. Would recommend booking at busy periods. Friendly service and will be calling again.

The Kings Arms

19/02/2019: Real Ale recommendation led us to this pub/restaurant last Sunday. Our welcome was warm and our table waiting. Enjoyed the beer and Sunday lunch in equal measure. Traditional Sunday lunch was delicious with plenty of choice of meat and veg and we took away our sweet as we were too full to eat it following our main courses. These were appreciated later that evening. Floater coffees rounded off the meal nicely. So glad we found this place and we shall certainly return soon.
02/10/2018: As you enter the pub we were immediately greeted by the warming smell of a log fire.

The Forest Arms

14/02/2019: The owner was very friendly behind the bar whilst his wife cooked dinner. There was a good variety of food I had a hash starter with holandase sauce and a perfectly poached egg. I then had belly pork in a blackberry and honey glaze. It was delicious. I would highly recommend a visit as the food is excellent as is the hospitality. They have rims and a cottage so you can stay over. We are popping back for lunch on Sunday
02/12/2018: We are new to the area and were recommended this pub so we thought we'd check it out. A lovely warm friendly welcome. Good beer and excellent food in a gorgeous old building. Plenty of menu choices with additional specials. I had stuffed chicken breast with potatoes and veg - chicken was tasty and moist, veg perfectly cooked. My husband had the forest burger with chips and salad. Salad was fresh and nicely dressed, chips tasty & crispy. Burger was tasty and nicely cooked. Portions were very generous.
