Nobody in there at 7.30pm on a Saturday evening. The bar maid with long blonde straggly hair was disinterested and sulky, even though we were upbeat. Then the manager came out and stalked around and stared at us. They claim to serve food, but not at 7.30pm on a Saturday evening. Obviously there is a reason why nobody is going to this pub, since it is a hostile environment, dull, no atmosphere, out of date inside and left us with PTSD.

I popped into The Bush today with some friends for a drink in the afternoon. This was the second time that I have visited this pub, and I immediately noticed how much busier it was this time round. The atmosphere was good and the lady working the bar was friendly. The interior and exterior areas were clean, as were the toilets. There was plenty of seating available, and the food on offer was good, if a little pricy. Being a Sunday, roast dinner was on the menu and it looked amazing. On my last visit, I had ordered a tuna sandwich which came with salad. The filling was of a decent size, however I would again stress it was a little pricy. On that theme, there was a good selection of drinks on offer, but again, the price was high. I had a bottle of strawberry kopparberg at £5.20 - I can buy three bottles from the shop for a fiver, and the same bottle in my local for around £4.00. I'm happy to support a local business, but did find this to be higher than usual. The pub is dog friendly and we found many dogs wandering around freely. Personally, I had no issue with this, but had I been eating, I wouldn't have liked dogs jumping up at my table. I haven't explored many pubs in Aylesford, but compared to my locals, I would give 3/5 to The Bush.

Came in for Sunday Lunch with my wife and 2 year old daughter. We asked for Sunday lunch each and a child's Sunday lunch, the lovely lady who worked there suggested that the child's lunch would be to big for her, so they did her extra food, free of charge which was more than enough for her. Our portions were more than generous too and very tasty. The staff working there checked on us several times and how much our daughter was enjoying the food. We were all very happy and had a nice time after a morning out in Aylseford. Highly recommend and will be coming again.

What a lucky find. Not a Bistro Pub with high end decor but an honest no frills 'Pub'. The Pub we were going to was closed. So we turned up at The Bush hungry at the wrong time of day but the lovely Landlord offered to cook for us and rustled up fabulous Fish and Chips and chocolate sponge and ice cream for pud. We spent a lovely afternoon in the terrace garden area eating and chatting. Only shame was; as the kitchen was officially closed we didn't get chance to try the delicious sounding Indian Dishes. But we are back to the UK at Christmas so will definitely go back and rectify that!! So thank you again for the wonderful service and friendly approach, it was good old fashioned 'hosting' at its best. Best wishes to you, Sue, Grahame and Dot.

I've been visiting the Bush 2 or 3 lunch times per week since about 2010, However on my last visit the landlord is now sharing the premises with Laneys Pie and Mash and was border line rude (to myself and another customer) when i entered. He seemed under a lot of pressure due to the full pub, (of 5 tables). When i asked to order some food when buying a drink I was told to order from a different counter. I stood at the different counter only to be told by the landlady to take an empty table and someone would come and see me. 5 minutes later someone from the Pie and Mash company asked me if i wanted anything, I asked for some food but then he asked if id booked? When I said no I'm usually here he told me there would be a wait for the food?? Seemed like absolute chaos. Needless to say I finished my drink and left, feeling my previous regular custom meant nothing. Let them hope that the Pie and Mash thing isn't a short lived novelty because they have lost my custom.

We have been going to the Bush for many years. Not sure what has happened to this great pub. The beer is good and staff friendly. The food has gone down hill fast. They used to do great Bush Burgers, hand-made and very tasty. What we got was a processed slab of meat. I do hope they read this and seriously look at what they are serving. This may be why the pub is empty !!!

Have visited the pub several times over the past few years during the International west Kent run. Used to love the food but this year was such a disappointment. I got the Bush burger and it was a cheap frozen burger which had no taste. Every time the pub used to be busy but this visit it was empty on a friday night. A friend ordered lasagna which wasnt great and had more cheese on top then filling. 2 others ordered curry which was ok... hope they turn things around. We looked else where to eat the following days we stayed.

We came in to try out the lunch menu as have only been in for drinks before. The food wasn’t too bad and would come back again to try out other dishes, there’s a huge choice on the menu. The barmaid was absolutely lovely and very helpful. The pub itself could do with a spruce up and possibly have a dinning section away from the “retired” drinking customers, which can be quite intimidating for new customers coming in. I️ would come back but my mother would probably decline.

We recently visited the Bush and it's exactly how a village pub should be. The Landlady was extremely welcoming and the staff couldn't be any friendlier. Plus the garden was a Fantastic Sun Trap and the perfect place to spend a Saturday afternoon. The pub has great character and all the 'locals' were extremely friendly, speaking to us about what we could do locally with our children. But the best thing about The Bush is the food! A great menu and very reasonably priced. The portions are huge and the Bush Burger is the biggest burger I have ever had. I would ignore the poor review as from our experience this couldn't be further from the truth. The Bush was spotless, clean and great to see a food hygiene rating of 5/5. Not quite sure where the reviewer of 9th July is coming from saying that the Bush is a dirty pub?!The pub is thoroughly cleaned every day and has got a 5 start Food Excellence Certificate. A 'dirty' pub would not consistently be awarded this top ranking if it was in any way dirty! We ALWAYS find it welcoming, friendly and clean. On the very rare occasion that a 'problem' or 'issue' becomes apparent then a quick mention to a member of staff and it is sorted quickly and without fuss. If the reviewer had such a problem why did they not mention it to a member of staff during their visit rather than hiding behind a review? The Bush is a regular of ours and will remain so.Great pub, great food and always good company!

My husband drinks real ale, and he was delighted to discover that Doom Bar and London Pride were both on tap. The atmosphere was very welcoming and the staff were happy to guide us to various tourist attractions in the area, and recommended a boat ride into Maidstone. As the weather was warm, the patio doors were opened onto a very pleasant patio area, and there was ample car parking. Having read the last review I have to say I'm amazed that somebody could say this place is dirty. I've eaten here several times with my family. This is a proper pub, not a chain so you get decent home cooked food. There's always a decent selection of beers and ales. The toilets are spotless something of a rarity in most pubs. The staff are always friendly and chatty. Kim the landlady doesn't suffer fools but that means you can have a meal and a drink with children without it being ruined by idiots. Maybe that does come across as attitude but I'd rather drink in a decent local than some rubbish chain. At the end of the day it's Kim's pub and her livelihood so I doubt she'd go out of her way to alienate custom

1st and last time visiting. Staff are extremely rude. We walked in asking for a table for 4 people with a pram, they told us to sit by the window which was a table set for 2 people and told us to ‘pull a chair over and not block the walkway with the pram’ considering there was a lot of space around us and only one other party in there it was unlikely we were going to block the walkway for anyone. We sat down (squeezed on a small table) with two members of staff quite clearly pulling faces, it didn’t appear they wanted us in there. Maybe they are against children in the restaurant, we are not sure but it wasn’t a nice, welcoming experience. We quickly left before ordering and will not be returning.
