Have been in here a few times. The food is always good. Most of the staff are polite and welcoming.

Really nice buffet prepared for a celebration of life. Highly recommend.

Having previously had a disappointing weekday meal here we returned to try again. Sadly our experience this time was no better, the pub interior was cold, and the service was extremely slow. One of the Sunday roasts had sold out but we were not told this when seated, only when we tried to order. After quite a long wait our starters did eventually arrive but were cold and VERY salty, unfortunately we were unable to attract the attention of any staff so this went unrectified.. Sunday lunch looked great when it arrived but unfortunately these meals were also Luke warm at best and the roast potatoes (advertised as delicious and crispy) were most definitely not crispy but rather undercooked new potatoes, again we were ignored by staff so it was not until our table was cleared that we were able to pass on our comments, a refund quickly followed but we left hungry and very, very disappointed. We will not be returning for a third visit.

Came in today with the kids, had the curry it was lovely, we were served by Louise, she was very kind and knowledgeable about the menu, will come here for lunch again, :)

Lively busy bar on a Friday night. Struggled to pay via the app but easy enough to order at the bar. My food was mostly cold and tasteless.

Nice place, good traditional food. Good selection of drinks. Friendly staff. There are plenty of tables .

Updated Review 02/10/2024 - 4.5 Stars! Massive improvements, no errors in food and service, had some fantastic evenings in the pub since the original review. Original Review: 3 Stars Food is either fantastic or bang average. Many issues in the kitchen like desserts before mains, or mains before starter. Sometimes what we order differs to what goes through to the kitchen. Tables not always cleared of empty glasses or plates - especially quiz night (Almost like they are understaffed). Love the pub as my local but you never know what you’re going to get when you walk in, regardless of how busy they are.

Just came from having a late lunch and had one of the best steak sandwiches I've ever had. Juicy with beautifully firm mushrooms etc, definitely recommend. Louise our waitress was efficient with a genuine smile and great rapport with all the customers

Ordered the mixed grill and the piece of beef was cooked to order but really rubbish quality. Everything else as expected, really good.

Had a great burger, grace serving me was fantastic, will come back.

Attended a funeral and went here afterwards. The food spread was amazing, was driving so had non alcoholic drink. Will be returning soon

We had a funeral party of 80 plus for a buffet. The service was excellent, food beautiful, service for drinks and food was fast and efficient. Came round clearing tables quickly. The Burnt Post was very clean with lots of seating inside and outside. Plenty of parking. Very helpful with any queries we had and asked if we had any other requests they would be happy to try and accommodate us in anyway possible. Would definitely recommend for any gathering.

Louise was a very attentive host. Quick service and the food was great. Big success!

We had a meal recently at the Burnt Post and I must stress that the current team are excellent. As usual we received an excellent and friendly service with good quality food at a very reasonable price..and I always recommend the Burnt Post to family and friends.....well done.

Had the Sirloin Steak yesterday with beef dripping gravy and it was delicious! The portion size was perfect, crispy onion bites were so flavorsome too.

Took our Grandchildren for breakfast with Santa on 10/12/22. The food was first class, Grandchildren had a great time making Christmas cards for Mummy and Daddy. Then a visit to Santa's Grotto. Santa had time for all of the children for a little chat. Would recommend breakfast with Santa to everyone. Iryna and the staff were fab hosts.

Very busy here, the Friday evening I met up with friends from volunteering. A large crowd but ordering and paying all went smoothly. Well organised, in fact. Good food as well as value for money. Great service tonight from a very smiley, happy waitress.

Lovely staff members, great pub and really enjoyed the food.Its cosy and a great local to have.The land lord and lady are lovely people, the staff all seem really happy in their job, which says it all.

I've been to the burnt post before and the food has always been good but on this occasion we ordered a fish and chips and a pie and chips. On both meals the chips were just about warm and the top of my pie was burnt, (no pun intended) abd the filling was warm'ish. My wife also said her chips were warm not hot. We were in a rush so we had to just eat and go or else I would have spoke to someone rather than just eat it. Won't put me off going though as it was a one off and it's normally a good meal here. The pub is always clean and tidy and the staff are nice and polite always.

The only reason I gave a 9 instead of a 10 was the table allocation but was moved to a more suitable table when asked. The waiter was very attentive. I think it would be better to have a queue for diners and a queue for drinkers only.

Visited last Friday and I was blown away with the quality of the service. Everyone was great but I wanted to say how exceptional a young lad on the bar with an earring was. He was chatting to an older guest in front of me and was friendly and approachable without patronising him. He didn't serve me but it reminded me of my days as a bartender and how hard it is to stay positive and friendly. Our food was brought out by a younger lady with a white top who I guess might have been a team leader? She made good conversation and joked with us. The food was also fantastic and was clearly made and presented with care.

Although today's meal wasn't great, (staff immediately offered free desserts) previously, any meal I have had here has always been very good, the BP deserves 5 stars, the staff are great. it's always clean and I'm very lucky it's my local :)

Attended wake on the 26th April at the Burnt post , 1st class service from the staff very good buffet laid on . Went overboard to make every one feel very welcome . Thank you to all staff.

I met with my 2daughters for my birthday. My daughter was served still frozen beef pie sent back other 1had mixed grill she couldn't chew it I ordered hunters chicken which I couldn't even cut with loads of burnt chips. The second meal fish and chips were awful. We ended going to open arms had a lovely meal. So disappointing. Margaret Dollery

Unable to rate food as food had stopped being served. Great staff, nice atmosphere.

Stopped here a couple of weeks ago and had lunch. It was quiet at the time so we had no trouble getting a table. Food was really good. Would definitely go there again. It started to fill up by the time we left and I can see why. It's good value and the staff couldn't be more helpful.

We're local regulars at the Burnt Post as has a lovely vibe, drinks well priced and food lovely....unfortunately for us we feel the team is let down by Emma, rest of the staff and management are amazing however Emma always seems stressed out behind the till, not welcoming or a friendly attitude ... I appreciate can be a stressful job however your jobs to host and make folk welcome... I'm only leaving the negative review as has been like this for a good year.. rest of the staff first class ..

The staff at burnt post have been amazing today after catering for a large group of 21 people - bringing out the mains without delays. Food was good, staff excellent with a special thank you to Emma who worked with me to make sure the private area was solely for us, the orders were correct and the bill was paid without any issues. We will be back as a family x

Had a fabulous meal out with my mum it seems as if a lot of the staff are new and they're were fabulous! Super attentive and professional especially the new girl who's front of house she went above and beyond. Food was lovely and piping hot can't fault it whatsoever.

The service was excellent, the waitress showed us to our table and ran through the specials. The same lady took our order at the bar, she very helpful, I couldn't fault her efficiency 😁. Everyone's food was well cooked and delicious, we were really pleasantly surprised at the quality - will be back.

Good food and tasty options for the whole family

I booked a table on-line for evening meal with 3 friends, it was a lovely evening sat outside. We booked drinks and food using their App. Service was prompt and friendly. So it felt safe and Sadly my first choice main was not available... Can recommend and will go again.

Came for Christmas Day dinner. When first walked in was very busy but once we were sat down we were in a lovely area and it was such a nice christmasy atmosphere with the music playing etc. lady manger who was on was lovely and very good, male manger not so friendly (had Xmas jumper on) but appreciate how busy it was. Food was good but do wish was options for extra like mash potato and cauliflower cheese. Sent my sons pasta back as it was like boiled pasta in soup. But girl who was our waitress was brilliant bought out new dinner straight away for my son and was very apologetic. Overall good experience.

Christmas dinner wasn’t very nice, small portion size, mostly if not all frozen on a positive note the staff worked very hard & we’re a credit to the company.

The music was being played too loud. So conversation became very difficult which affected our enjoyment
