The Nugget in Coventry

I have been few times with friends that live nearby to have dinners over the past years. Overall pub is good and cannot fault the food either, however even though I thought I had put my registration in the machine I have received a 60 pound fine. I send proof of my gredit card statement that I have dined during the time my car was there but the request was REJECTED!!! I cannot recommend a pub that gives fines if you make a mistake or even worst if their system makes a mistake and you cannot contest it. Would they accept us to penalise them everytime if they make a mistake in the order or if they are slow?? I will tell my friends to meet at a different pub in the future.

Never been in, but parked there for a while back to wait to collect granddaughter from nearby school as couldn't find street parking. Never again. Didn't see sign and got a parking penalty notice and fine. NB Someone from the The Nugget replied to above post to say they were 'sorry' about the parking fine and that a two star rating was 'harsh.' They added there were clear signs re CCTV parking fines. They weren't sorry enough to offer any sort of goodwill gesture it seems. Yes, it might be private property, nevertheless, its a public house and was merely waiting in the car for a short while in a near empty car park. Beware of these ANPR parking fine companies as apparently they're springing up in public house car parks more and more these days.

Good food and drink. I come here with my family most the time and to be fair staffs are the best and service is great, decent pub.

We had a table booked for 17:00, after waiting 30 minutes to order our food, we were told there was over a 90 minute wait on food! Absolute joke, staff just don't care and don't want to be there. This is also not a family friendly pub, my children were terrified by the drunken football fans shouting at the TV, even though they were on the other side of the pub. Avoid!

HARDLY posh nosh but it's affordable and nice food. 👍

Best pub in Coventry by far. Friendly staff great food and just good vibes. One of the last pubs that have nights to do stuff. would highly recommend

Booked here for a birthday celebration, party of 14, yet they hadn't seared us all together, went to move a table literally 6 feet to be told off by the duty manager, Mandy, that we couldn't move the table, when asked why, she huffed and stopped off. So myself, husband and 2 children sat separately from the rest of my family to celebrate. Customer service was awful and if wasn't half term we would of got up and left there and then, but having hungry children and a elderly member with us we stayed. Thankfully the food was better than the service, but won't be in a hurry to come back again!

Even though it’s valentines day and absolutely heaving this place has not disappointed, staff have been on it tonight. I ordered a steak and a curry (absolutely amazing food) they brought it out so so quickly. Super amazing service very friendly definitely recommend! 10/10

Called in this morning for breakfast, a large English and an ordinary vegetarian both were very nice and plentiful in fact the large English was too much lol, the staff are friendly and courteous and the prices are very good will certainly be returning.

The Nugget is always a busy, friendly pub...which means that I sometimes find it hard to find somewhere to sit alone and exhibit my generally grumpy behaviour.

We visited on a busy Wednesday evening taking advantage of the Sizzler discount offer. All four of us were pleased with the quality of the drinks, food & service. Many thanks to the hard working staff

Visited for dinner and then had breakfast here the following day. Service was friendly. Was advised for the dinner that there was going to be a wait of 45 minutes. I wasn't in a rush and the wait was probably only 20 minutes if that. There's an outside area that looks good for watching sports in the summer. Just remember to enter your vehicle registration for the parking!! The breakfast was large and couldn't finish it all

Booked a table for 7 people 2 were children food took over an hour to come out 3 steaks were cooked wrong one rare instead of well done, one medium came out rare then a medium one well done. Ordered pudding kids hadnt even finished theres cause of how long it all took when we got asked to leave due to no kids after 9 kids hasn't even finished puddings. Also only 1 toilet had a lock on the door. Service was great lovely staff and atmosphere shame about the food.

Had a table booked for 11 people, the pub was so busy, but all the food came cooked lovely, staff were amazing and helpful. No complaints from anyone on our table. Many thanks

I booked here for my partner's birthday there was a large amount of us around 15 adults and 4 children eating so i pre ordered everyone's meal the day before. Our table was booked for 6.30 but our food didn't come till 8.15pm!! We had two people come with us who hadn't pre booked so ordered on the app they had ordered by 6.45 ISH and were told it was a hour wait. Their food came out at 7.15pm a whole hour before our!!! THAT WAS PRE ORDERED!! I kept going up and saying please can you just bring the kids meals out because it's getting late they came out at 8.15pm then adults waited around 10-15 mins after that for ours to start coming out last one coming out around 9 I would say which we were told we would get free! That's all the person in charge said!!! Who was quite frankly rude and couldn't clearly cope with a large group eating!! I went after our meal (which actually was lovely once it arrived) I complained to the lovely man behind the bar which obviously had nothing to do with him as he was working behind the bar for what I could see as most of the night! He then went and got us 20% off each person's bill. Which was fine with us but would never have got that if I hadn't of said something. Do NOT book big groups it ruined the whole evening!

My favourite place in Coventry. Love the place, surroundings, the atmosphere and kindness of the staff.

We had a really good time in the Nugget. Despite the fact that they were short staffed, the service was friendly and attentive. The food took a while to arrive, but when it did it was piping hot and delicious. Children's portions were generous too.My only criticism is that there's very little choice for vegetarians! Other than that, it's worth a visit.

Lovely food fast service would go again

Was fine, pretty standard Sizzler. I Did not eat but my kid did and child's food was decent. Guinness was v tasty.

Seems reading previous reviews this pub is bit hit and miss. Lucky if you get the hit. Unfortunately today I had the miss. Ordered the Greek wrap. It came cold, bacon was rock hard and so was the wrap. I will be careful what to order next time. Previous times there have been OK.

Our visit at the Nugget was lovely. Popped in for a meal with the family and was served by a lovely gent behind the bar. Nugget management team, Mummy’s little soldier is a credit to you!

Great food, nice kind of atmosphere. Was recommended it after my Mrs went with a friend. Only bad point is the parking farce, we got home and the next morning my Mrs had a parking ticket from when she went for food with her friend. She put her reg in the computer on the wall same as I did but still got a fine.....

50 minute wait for food on a Monday evening. Part of order deliveded to table after 30 minutes and rest of food took a further 20 minutes later. If kitchen is backed up and there is going to be a delay, let customers know what kind of delay to expect when ordering so they can decide whether to dine. Food itself once arrived nice and good value. Just wait with a child not fun.

We had a fantastic meal, it was busy but the service was great. The food was hot and came out sizzling. I had the salmon it was cooked to perfection. A guest in our party had a blue steak .. and it was actually blue ! It made my day

Food was pretty average , I would describe it between spoons quality and hungry horse . Nice venue lots of space , staff very polite , my chicken was over cooked and very thin . Very disappointing.

The best cooked steak I have had in a very long time. When I ask for rare I don't often get what Im after. Pete and Steph made sure it was as I wanted it. Fan made sure it was transported from the kitchen to my table wifh everything I needed. Good effort. Bingo was also ace with the Rock and Roll bingo Scott.

We had to wait 1hr 15 mins to get our meals and we wouldn’t go back again I complained but it still took a long time to come even after that.They should stick to serving drink.

Ordered food as the menu looked really good..but when the food came the waitress "skye" just through our food on the table and walked off, no do you need anything else nothing like that, the chicken on the starter was over fried and the nachos lacked sour cream which as far as im concerned is one of the main ingredients to a nacho sharer. When the mains came same story any fried food was well over fried.onion rings were far to hard due to being over fried and when my wife tried to cut the onion ring it sprang off the plate as It was to hard. The chicken in burger was the same over fried dark brown coating due to over frying. Really disappointed with the food as many of reviews stated how good it was but total flop from out point of view. I gave it a try but never again will continue to use The Open Arms as the food is always on point...

Friendly clean pub. Quick visit for an early afternoon bite to eat. Good, quick service. We liked the food.

Had a meal at the nugget which I must say was delicious. Vegetarian options pretty good. Only slight problem for us was children running around unsupervised. Food definitely good value for money though.

Went for lunch to celebrate a residents birthday with a group of residents and staff the food was lovely piping hot staff were Friendly, helpful and very accommodating to everyone's needs couldn't of asked for more! They all had a great time and went home telling everyone about what a great time they'd had.

Amazing service from Kate and all the chefs! She was fantastic with letting us order 7 mins before the end of food service, then letting us order a dessert 1 hr after the kitchen closed and the fact that she made it herself. Me and partner would like the team members to have an incentive e.g cake as a thank you, although we did buy them a drink… Will happily come again and highly recommend you to friends and family as well as sending them family discount

Great new look, all fresh and wonderfully decorated. Food was phenomenal and the service was lovely as well. Such a warm welcome for Vicky and Becky looked after us beautifully!

Nice roomy pub restaurant, tables are not cramped together. Food is very nice, well prepared and presented. Prices are reasonable. Just remember to put your car registration number into the tablet on the bar. otherwise, you'll end up with a parking notice.

Came here at very late notice for a birthday meal, staff were very accommodating, really like the end of the bar where it named the daily staff, food was cooked perfect with no issues, thank you to steph for helping with the booking and ensuring food was 10/10. Look forward to the next visit

The Nugget is local to me and it's a nice clean cosy atmosphere, the food and drinks were lovely and the service was excellent, will come back again definitely. My friend and myself found the offers on the food menu were very good value for money. 👍⭐

this school is BUNZ swara turned up and made my day horrible with her horrible cosplays, after seeing them i have attempted mass homicide against minorities multiple times, mr mosly has gross fingers icl he is not a lips and chin goat like me, mr malby gave me a c3 because i ended my mewing streak in his class, i got caught edging by mr mohammed and gulam pulled up and dropped his pants, i love gulam so much when hes around i cant stop edging and mewing, he is a W rizz sigma pakistani male and stinky (of curry) , i love to gulammax all day while im in coundon court school but icl this school is not a safe server i got ganked by a max blade fischearan shinobi while in A door toilets (mr davies). and he belly flopped me to afghanistan with his rolls. i lost all my hp just like a faceless macro combo and got gripped instantly. gulam was threatening me in school and he doesnt stop asking me for inapropriate items (droogs like vapes and stuff) gulam tried to lace my curry with fentanyl and when i didnt eat it he stopped mewing and ate it all up because hes quite a big fella and hes brown. I LOVE GULAM! ❤️ but i cant rizz and i cant mew. anyways larry is a W black man he brings me kfc daily and i love it yummy! if you dont know who gulam is il post a picture of him and a picture of his father

Had a party of 20 last night. Food all came out quick together and piping hot. Not my local sizzler but will definitely be eating there again and will recommend for further big party’s. Thankyou nugget for a brilliant experience and atmosphere the young waiter was lovely and polite and the bar staff was amazing with all of us wanted drinks.

Place was very well maintained and clean. food was of good quality. Price is nothing that I'd pick out about as its all reasonably priced. food and drinks were served as ordered and the staff were friendly and welcoming.

The menus are misleading and not value for money

The food was fantastic quality. The quiz clashed with the football. Atmosphere was mixed and the quiz felt separate. Staff were all fantastic and helped show both games of football

Looks impressive inside and out, and it's a nice shape with good decor. Good menu choices but due to the crowds some menu choices were unavailable. The prices are also good. Cater for vegetarians and vegans which is great. Although we had to wait a long time for the meals, when they arrived it was nice. With the offer more staff should work due to the workload.

The waitress was lovely. So plesent.

Dirty floors and tables. Rude staff when asking politely where our food was after waiting over 50mins. Forgotten orders "all desserts" This place used to be a lot better but has fallen hard on its face.

Food and drink are really good value for money, service is always excellent. The Nugget is looking a little tired and could do with a refurbishment to be honest.

Nice food , the Lady that served us at the bar and served our food to us was probably the most attentive and curious ive ever had in any pub restaurant , I think her name was Vicki? 10 out of 10 in all aspects of our visit . Definitely recommend 👌

Well priced good food with quick service

Busy pub food pretty average, the place needs doing up, it looks in disrepair.

We love The Nugget, it’s local to us so is a great place to walk to and have a drink or meal. The staff are friendly and helpful, the food is lovely, it’s faultless really.
