The Burgh is my go-to usual, and though it is a comfort, there are a few things amiss. Positive: - lovely, vibey atmosphere for friend catch-ups or study/ work - dog friendly (always a pleasure to see the doggos) - layout/ interior design is ideal, varied, and suits all - the staff are always delightful and welcoming, never too much or too little - the baked goods are very tasty - free wifi - dimmed/ warm lights, so doesn't induce headaches Negative: - sticky tables, they should really be deep cleaned and thereafter regularly wiped down with disinfectant - bathroom in desperate need of some cash thrown at it to update it (not hygenic for baby changing) - one of the owners tends to over charge, which is frustrating as a regular who knows the price of their coffee - lunch selections very minimal, which is fine, but at least offer some more vegetarian options - the coffee itself is usually burnt, which is surprisng since the burgh also owns Stirling Coffee next door Overall, I do like the Burgh and I wouldn't want to stop going. Some more financial focus is needed, attention to table and toilet hygeine, and proper coffee roasting is required.

Nice place, one of the nicest we could find in Stirling. The soup was lovely, small selection of sandwiches but enough to keep us all happy. The coffee could have been a bit stronger, I thought my flat white was fairly weak, other than that it was all great. We’d visit again

By far the best coffee shop we have been in during our stay. Coffee was good with a rich flavour & hot enough for a change!! Displaying prices would help though as we nearly left without ordering. We also ordered a cake which was by far the best we've had in any coffee house in the country for a very long time. Customer service was ok but could be improved as could product knowledge as when I enquired about the cake, I was just told it was a biscuitty thing with some cream or stuff in the middle.. These issues aside, we would definitely return on our next visit to Stirling as they have possibly the best cakes in Scotland if the one we had was anything to go by (Coffee was pretty good too!). This place is well worth a visit for cake & coffee lovers although they do need to improve certain areas - there is plenty of competition very close at hand.

Leaving behind a less-than-ideal dining encounter at another establishment, my friend and I found ourselves seeking refuge at The Burgh Coffee House. This change in venue marked a significant shift in our day's narrative, as we were immediately met with stellar customer service and a welcoming atmosphere. Contributing to the warm and congenial environment was the exceptional staff, who were not only attentive but also exuded a genuine friendliness that put us at ease. Their welcoming demeanour added an extra layer of comfort to our visit, further enhancing our overall experience. The oppressive heat and humidity of the day nudged us towards the invigorating iced teas from their expansive menu, while I also decided to indulge in a delightful petite cake. The teas served as an elixir of rejuvenation, their cool, refreshing flavours providing a much-needed respite from the heat. The cake, a personal indulgence, proved to be an absolute delight, offering sweet reparation for our earlier unsatisfactory experience. As if on cue to add some levity to our afternoon, my inherent clumsiness resulted in my half-finished iced tea taking a spill. The ever-vigilant and considerate staff of The Burgh Coffee House were quick to respond, providing us with paper towels to address the spill and generously offering to replace my drink at no additional charge. This contrasted sharply with the subpar service we had received earlier at another café. The empathetic and attentive approach demonstrated at The Burgh Coffee House was a refreshing change. Their commitment to customer comfort and satisfaction was truly commendable and managed to transform our previously disappointing day into a pleasant and memorable one. With its extraordinary customer service, an extensive and mouth-watering assortment of teas and coffees, and an enticing selection of food and pastries, The Burgh Coffee House stands out as a paragon of what a coffee house should aspire to be. To summarise, The Burgh Coffee House is a shining beacon of hospitality, offering a rich and diverse menu, and a staff that truly understands the essence of customer service. Whether you are seeking respite from a scorching day, desiring a thirst-quenching drink, or craving a dessert just for yourself, a visit to The Burgh will undoubtedly meet your expectations and more.

Visiting Stirling with family and wanted a coffee and cake. Place was not overly busy but had a few customers in. Ordered and asked to take a seat as all would be brought over to table adjacent from counter where had ordered Basically no straw for bottle of drink and cakes missed off- member of staff commented that I had not ordered any, which is funny as when returned to table after ordering ‘again’ family said that I had and they had heard me order three cakes. An apology would not have gone amis but that’s service I guess?

Came here for a coffee before walking to the train station for my train. I nearly missed it. Ordering and finding a seat was easy enough, even near to a plug socket to charge my phone. Had a nice window seat. However after 10 mins my coffee still hadn't arrivrd despite people around getting refills or new orders despite sitting down after me. Was really disappointed, had to go and ask where my coffee was, obviously forgotten, no apology and presented to me with a scowl. Unfortunately, the Burgh Coffeehouse is actually one of the worst coffeeshops with no sense of community and one that treats all staff that are not family members of the owner like s***. As much as its a physically nice establishment, the owner picks on students by taping the plug sockets so that they are inable to sit and study there unless their battery life is immense. The owner also picks and chooses what dogs to allow into the Burgh. I have a german shepherd and he's hated my dog from day one, barring it when it was a puppy and when I went in again the other day, I got told my dog was never going to be welcome tgere because I slagged off the company. Just to be clear, me "slagging off the company" was actually just telling my friends what mistreatment I received while being a very loyal customer of the Burgh last year. So I couldnt recommend this place high enough if you want to be treated like s*** by the owner and certain staff members because he is purely in it to earn money and hates people and animals.

Visited this today with my partner and wont be back. Purchased 2 coffees, 1 ham and cheese toastie and 1 cheese, tomatoes and pesto melt. When I went to pay for these and handed over my card to the guy behind the counter I noticed his long fingernails which were black and full of dirt. I was hoping he was just the till guy. The same guy brought our coffee and sandwiches over to which after telling my partner she clocked and also said I hope hes not touched that. After already payed £12 for my order I didnt make a fuss as the place was busy.I tried to forget about his worm digging fingernails. Then 3 bites into my cheese, tomatoes and pesto melt I found a hair which I pulled out. My partner put down her toastie and looked in disgust. After she took it off me and hoped it was a bit of cheese she like me was struggling to believe it was anything but a hair. I hope it wasnt a hair but after manky fingernails guy it was too much to gamble. We got up and left immediatly. First time I have had the boke from a cafe/restaurant.

I try as much as I can to support the smaller cafes and coffeehouses and I’ve been to this particular coffeehouse several times. I’m not sure why I keep coming back. The cakes always taste a little bit stale, the tea is average but most of all the customer service is appalling. There’s one guy especially who acts as if he’s working at the cafe as some sort of community service alternative to prison. He really acts as if he doesn’t want to be there and looks at the customers as though they are something he has picked up on the bottom of his shoe. It’s no wonder people go to the chains of coffee houses - and Stirling has plenty to choose from - when the service is as bad as this. By the way, when I swapped my overpriced chocolate ginger biscuits (£2.15) for a piece of slightly stale chocolate cake (£2.10) I didn’t get my 5p back.

Rather disappointed with first visit. Very annoyed that they had no gluten free option, so could drink but not eat. In a nutshell, not up to scratch for centre of Stirling.

Friendly staff and great food /cakes make this a standard stop on visits to the city Perfectly situated on King Street with easy access to the castle and other places of historic interest, it's also next to the Thistles shopping centre.

Just came here for a wee coffee whilst I was shopping in Stirling with my sister and my nephew. Despite having lived near stirling for 9 years I had never been to the burgh coffee house before. It's only a short walk up from the shopping centre and wasn't packed like the regular coffee shops are. I had an amaretto milkshake and a chocolate brownie. Both were amazing. Only downside is the coffee shop looks like it might need some refurbishment as it is looking a bit sad and the bench I was sat at was missing a cushion. It wouldn't put me off of visiting again though, highly recommend.

We used to go here every week but recently it's become too dirty to face. It has been getting progressively worse all year, the staff seem to have not had basic food hygiene training and the toilets are frankly a bio hazard area.

Looks nice, cakes were ok. coffee was warm not hot. Expensive. The loos were the real memory of the place in the most horrible way possible. I had to use the disabled loo and I honestly thought I was going to be sick. Every possible surface was dirty and looked liked it hadn't been cleaned for days if not weeks. I wanted to go home and shower. I went to the counter and told the guy the toilet was disgusting and he said " I know". The second coffee was cancelled and we will not be back.

The Burgh Coffee House has been one of our favourite places to go for a coffee since we moved to Stirling. The coffee is great and they offer a huge variety of drinks and snacks, including a really lovely BBQ chicken and chorizo sandwich! We will definitely keep coming back in the future.

Gut gelegenes Café... scheint sehr beliebt bei Studenten zu sein:-) Der Kaffee ist gut und die Bedienung nett und prompt. Für einen Snack zwischendurch absolut ok. Kuchen hatte ich aber schon besseren...

I thought the prices were a bit much as compared to nearby cafes, but I didn't know this until I was in and ordered and paid the bill.

Coffee mild and the cake seemed popular. Ideal central location and not part of a chain. Would go back

Fancied trying somewhere that wasn't Nero or Costa, so popped into the Burgh coffee house. It has a relaxed atmosphere and decor, some nice booths, a high bar and lots of smaller tables and chairs. The coffee is excellent, the staff are polite and quick and will serve to your table. The cakes are great too, look more homemade than mass manufactured too. The Caramel shortcake was very nice, very sweet (which i love). Will definitely be back.

Slowly becoming my favourite place in Stirling. Stirling is lacking in choices, but this place is a little gem! The staff are always so friendly and welcoming, great place for students to do work and be at peace. Wifi is fast and free. Very relaxing atmosphere, the only small thing I would say is to turn the heating up a wee bit and maybe bigger pots for tea? But part from that, this place is the best coffee house in Stirling!

A nice place to drink good coffee and eat good cake, particularly as it includes free and fairly fast wifi. Always busy at key times of the day but, being Scotland, it is not always possible to sit outside.

With a few global giants nearby this independent knocks them for six in terms of quality and value. Recently reopened, post covid closure and I urge people to support this and other independent businesses, but only if they deserve it as this one clearly does. I had a bacon and a square sausage roll for breakfast and both were lovely. Returned on my last day for another bacon roll and had a couple of takeout rolls for later on the long train ride back home to Birmingham. Nice staff, nice place, deserves support. Recommended.

Beautiful little place serving tasty coffee & a fabulous menu. We only had scones which are freshly made & super tasty but I would prefer clotted cream not squirty cream. Friendly staff & fab decor & comfy seats. The window display is beautiful

Un repas simple mais bien présenté dans une ambiance chaleureuse. Nous avons pris des sandwichs qui sont arrivés en assiettes avec une belle petite salade d'accompagnement. Merci pour l'accueil c'est très bon

We have enjoyed visiting The Aizle many times over the past several years for both soup and a toastie or tea/coffee and cake. The staff are always friendly and efficient but the main attraction is the cakes which, although pricey are absolutely delicious. We had visited in May and had two teas and an americano coffee with hot milk and of course the cakes. Unfortunately, when we went there at the weekend, it is now apparently the practice to charge extra for the massive expense and effort involved in steaming a spoonful of milk to have with the coffee which means that a small cup of americano coffee which costs £2.65, presumably with cold milk, now has a surcharge of 75p, making it £3.40. We visit many restaurants and cafes and no-one else makes this additional charge so it really seems like greed. We won't be back.
